I don't normally use a Walmart pharmacy, but I needed to run errands in this area, including a stop at Walmart. I thought it'd be convenient if I got prescriptions filled for us while we were here before we headed out of town.
I dropped off six prescriptions, and told them that two of them may need to be transferred from our normal pharmacy because the doctor accidentally sent them electronically (like she normally does). One of my prescriptions was a refill already refilled at the other pharmacy...that one was on me.
We waited the 40 minutes (while shopping) and headed back to the pharmacy to wait about another 10 minutes. (Holidays...I get the busyness). When I got to the counter I was told my daughter's prescriptions weren't available because it was too soon for them to be filled...since they were new prescriptions, this confused me. I was then asked if it was possible that they were filled by another pharmacy. I replied that yes, when I dropped off the prescriptions I told them that those two prescriptions in particular would probably need to be transferred from our regular pharmacy. They didn't do that....and it would probably be the next day before they could do it. Ok. I'll find time to drive over there and get it. At this point, the use of the Walmart pharmacy is no longer a convenience. So I ask if I can go ahead and get the other three prescriptions. She brings back two. I ask about the third, and she says they only had five.
I was pretty certain I had counted six when I dropped them off and asked her to double check. She did, and yes, there was another prescription, but they didn't fill it...because they just didn't do it.
At this point, I'm frustrated, but the lady helping me is being nice...and maybe frustrated for me...or at least the situation. So, I ask how long it will be before it can be done....another 40+ minutes. Really?
No thanks. I took my two and called my pharmacy who said they would get it transferred. An hour later, the pharmacists at our normal pharmacy calls me and tells me my other prescriptions are ready, but she can't get the Walmart Pharmacy to answer, so she's not 100% sure she can get it transferred before we leave. She eventually does, but geez. read more
