The 'Big Box Outlet Store' in Mission was a recent 'browse & shop' stop for daughter. She went…read morethere hoping to catch some items on a "I want list". The stop had what she was seeking, and at the same time, provided a nice surprise find as well -- a great deal on some 'just past' the best-before-date of 'Ocean Spray, tinned cranberry sauce'. Originally sticker priced at $1.49 Cdn per tin, it was now priced at $0.25 per tin -- a bargain not to be missed. Thanks to her catch, it included four tins for us (and yea, it was all the 'whole cranberry' variety, which we favour over the 'jellied' stuff). With Easter coming, I am sure there will be a use for some (with some poultry), but regardless, we always enjoy it with any poultry and several meats at any time, and find it's great in pancakes, on french toast, baking powder biscuits, and such.

Thankfully my dilemma was observed by 3 vigilent Canadian Tire staff members in the office who rushed to the scene equipped with a set of 'paddles' which can re-activate one suffering from heart failure. Thankfully, two other bystanders happened to be retired firemen - one from Regina, Sask. - trained in the use of these heart-stimulating paddles. I wish to let you know that the prompt attention I received from all these 'Good Samaritans' saved my life! I must also thank those who attended this incident by way of an ambulance, 2 police cars and a fire engine. I don't know any of your names, but I am deeply grateful to all of you good folks for what you did in my hour of need! I spent nearly a month in hospital where the cardiac ward of Abbotsford hospital gave me excellent attention. I now have a pace-maker/defribrillator installed to help avoid a similar incident in the future. Thank you, Canadian Tire, and all those who shared in some way on this eventful day. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart... Sincerely, Miff Crommelin Mission BC
