This is no little café, it is a fully competent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner served to your table. I am a self proclaimed seamstress and everywhere I go, I must visit a local fabric store. Fabrics here were super cheap. They had everything ranging from low-quality to super fancy fabrics. You chose whatever fabric you want or point it out to someone, and they cut it for you. They don't hand it to you, they keep it behind a counter. You pay for everything together, no matter how many different people you got fabric cut with. I don't know how they keep everything straight but they do, I was able to get some great finds for little over $40 dollars. I am talking about yards and yards of fabric at least 20. I was super happy. Will be back for sure on my next trip to Mexico City!

Coming to Mexico for the first time for a destination wedding was exciting. The wedding was in two days, what am I going to do? How was I going to get a black pair of pants in a foreign land? Checking with the porter/doorman at our hotel, he recommended the department store across the street and that I should be able to get a pair of black dress pants. The next morning, I headed to El Nuevo Mundo for their opening at 10am. I headed to the men's department and the vestir, dress clothes section. I looked through the pants racks and found a pair of black pants that was similar to my suit. The pants were not hemmed and the clerk had me try on the pants and measured me for hemming. He said it would be ready in an hour. I paid for the pants and came back in an hour and my pants were ready for pickup. The pants were just a shade lighter than my suit, but it was close and it saved me for our friend's wedding. The service at El Nuevo Mundo was great! With my limited Spanish, the clerk and I were able to get me the final product in one hour. Oh, the hemming was included in the cost of the pants. The cost? $16US. What a deal! So great our hotel doorman recommended El Nuevo Mundo.

The interior of the store appears to be working out and in serious need of a remodel. The floor tiles are a mismatch of various fixes and patches that they have done over the past twenty years. Not only that, there are products and trash strewn about the aisles, This store carries most of the grocery products that I need, but often times they are out-of-stock for certain brands like Maruchen. Moreover, their produce is priced significantly higher than what you would find at a local market. That being said, this store doesn't always have the lower prices on products.

Either way, place has its own parking so its always a plus, same thing not as big as you could wish for, cashiers are the 1 in 2 design so, bring your own bags its a must because there is never big size plastic bags at this place and dont seem to encourage to use the green ones... for some reason i think this place should've left to be as an aurrera, but well it is what it is. The heater itself was wet, inside its plastic bag, as if they'd fished it out of a flood zone. As my Spanish is not conducive to phone conversations, I've been trying to contact them on WhatsApp to arrange an exchange. Have easily tried 7-8 times, using Google translate to keep the conversation fully in Spanish, without getting any answers. So I tried emailing them with the full explanation and any info they could possibly require, only to get an auto reply telling me to use WhatsApp to contact them. Today I messaged them again on WhatsApp and 4.5 hours later, they finally responded, asking for the same information that was in my initial message. When I re-sent the information, the system had me start all over again! Arrrgh!! I ordered the heater online so as to avoid getting in an Uber and going in-person to their store during the pandemic. As they sent a damaged product, it seems reasonable to expect they would replace the item through their "free delivery" service. I'm probably going to have to admit defeat on this one. So instead of buying in the store and having to shlep it home, I have to shlep the damaged one TO the store and shlep another back. Or just return it and resign myself to being cold for the rest of my life. It wouldn't be so upsetting if I hadn't also bought an expensive washer-dryer and some kitchenware through them, so it isn't like the heater was my only purchase. It will, however, be my last!

We had our cocktails and then wandered into a few stores - lots of cool places to check out. The building was beautifully restored - definitely a cool sight. And there are bathrooms - you just need the code from someone at one of the shops, restaurants, or bars! Definitely a cool place to spend some time if you're in the area!
