It's a little pricey for what I'm paid, so I tried to get something a little easier on the gas but that wouldn't hurt my wallet on the total price of the vehicle as well. Boy, could I ever be so wrong about getting a car 2 1/2 hours away from my house. I'm not targeting PowerKing as such in this review, although, they need to touch up on their knowledge of their own vehicles and actually look at them and attempt to solve their issues (the vehicles) before slapping a price tag on it. I opted for the Mazda6 S Sportwagon they had for sale. (I have proof of purchase as the title had to be notorized if that is required so as their is no wavering of this post being legit, as well as Dash cam footage of what I am about to tell taken from behind the wheel of my Grand Marquis, as that was the following vehicle). The dealer told me there was a problem with the battery, and if I went and bought a battery he'd give me $100 off on the car. I was a little hesitant, but I really didn't want to make the 2 1/2 hour trip for nothing, so I went and bought a battery to test the car. Should've been the first red flag, well, the first red flag should've been the first car I tested, which was the Malibu Maxx they had for sale for the same price. Shocks were making squeaking noises and the engine had a ping. I drove a Malibu Maxx as my personal car so I know how the engine and the shocks should sound... Anywho, we tested the car and it drove actually quite well. No problems there, so I purchased the car. Boy if I could retract that purchase, but unfortunately, lemon laws for used vehicles are only in a few states, and it isn't a federal standard like it is for new vehicles. We drove to the nearby Walmart and the car's starter broke. This is where PowerKing "tried" to help. The replaced the starter and the next morning we came back to pick up the car. On the Grand Marquis, it's a full tank of gas round trip. so $1995 just became $2035 plus putting gas in the Mazda which brought it up to around $2065. Cool beans, no problemo.. and hey, the starter worked. For about 40 minutes as we traveled, all was well. Me, not being quite familiar with the clutch kept stalling the car, which, I'm sure the lot of us have done time and time again while learning standard. We drove the car all the way to the 81 North Ramp and there is where our problems started. I stalled the car which I had done about 5 times now, and now the car wouldn't start. would've even begin to turn over. We called a tow truck and it took my car out of the intersection and moved it over to a nearby gas station. Car's total price is now $2115 (cost $50 to move the car over to the gas station). No problem, now we got to jump the car (me not knowing the alternator was completely gone. Any how, the rest of the story involved stopping and charging at each rest stop along the way once we figured out it was the alternator. Time line of events: 12/19/18: I decided to purchase the Mazda6 S Wagon, Same day, after the purchase we found out the starter had gone. The Dealer willingly fixed it. 12/20/18: We came back to PA after travelling back home the day before to get the car. We left and 40 miles down the road the battery died and the car did as well. We ended up using the Grand Marquis to charge it at each rest stop once we figured out it was the Alternator (I'm no mechanic, but now I know what to look for) 12/21/18: We arrived home at 8:30AM (A trip that was only supposed to take 2 1/2 hours ended up taking 8 1/2 (From the time we found out what the problem was which was around 12 midnight). Took the car to Mavis, I have the receipts of 256.21 for Alternator installation and exhaust labor to get to the alternator. I purchased the Alternator for $109.99 from AutoZone (Have the receipt as well) On 12/20/18 we made a call to PowerKing Motorsports after the car died on 81 and we were told there was nothing they could do unless we drive the car back.... can't drive a car that is dead. 12/24/18: On my way to work the Serpentine Belt Came a loose. This was caused by the Tensioner Failing. I was quoted 265 dollars for the labor and parts by Mavis. If my math is correct, I technically paid $2746.20 for the car, and that is not including the Tow Rope that broke, the jumper cables, and the tow strap that was finally used to pull the car into the first Rest Stop so we could charge it up, again, it was 12 Midnight when we actually figured out what the problem was, a problem that could've easily been identified by a dealer who was actually wanting to be honest. Telling someone you don't know what the problem could be after putting a price tag on a car visible to the public is not a good selling point. But I digress and take blame on my self for being so easily misled. Never again. Never ever.
