This isn't a Supercenter. They don't have a full grocery section but they have enough to get by and today, I just needed to return one thing I had bought at another Walmart. No problem and the associate at the counter was efficient. The store was in good condition this evening. Sure, they're restocking but there was no trash on the floors, the products I was looking for were well stocked and I was even greeted by one or two associates ("ten foot rule!") as I walked around. Addendum: Did you know, every time you enter a Walmart property you are tracked by a sophisticated camera (think flock) that records your license plate and facial recognition information. It then sells it to data brokers who know all about you including your personal financial information! Stay away like from this like the plague! read more

The store in small and disorganized. The help isn't helpful and aren't Mensa members. Customer service is a joke, and almost nonexistent. Customer returns are always a battle royal. A lot of merchandise is under weight. See 'u tube! Employees are under paid and you can see it in their moral! Shop target for a fair shake! read more

One of the oldest Walmarts I have ever seen. Looks like it's stuck in the 80s. It could use some updating

Many items were out of stock. Very few milk products including coffee creamer. No bottles of Diet Coke.

We ar looking for new IPads -- was told Walmart had good prices.. They seemed ok -- but the only person in the area was stocking shelves and not happy to be disturbed. I had seen one which interested me and asked to see it --"thy came in 3 weeks ago and I am not sure if we have them --the display model included a cardboard picture if the model. There were no spec on display -- He diverted me to another model he liked but seemed unable to answer questions -- advised me not to buy from Verizon. He did not lie their software. 1st time checking in but not my 1st time here. Walmart is relatively new to me as I did not shop there much in my previous geographical location. Walmart is much more convenient now and I certainly have taken advantage of that convenience and the enormity of items and the great crisis. I admit that my regular practice is to go to the men's department 1st to see what new items are in. My dilemma this evening was that there were Georgia and Florida hats at reasonable prices due to the end of the season but the conflict comes because of the great rivalry and If you wear sports gear someone will always come up to you and want to start a discussion or an argument about who you are favoring. So I did not purchase the reasonably priced hats. But what was in order was purchasing a watch at a very reasonable price, picking up some distilled water which has a great price, collecting 2 boxes of oatmeal pies, tissues and two belts. Walmart to me is like a modern day museum where there are more than enough exhibits to look at. Having choices is always fun and a visit to Walmart is just that. Staff at Walmart are always helpful and will walk with you to retrieve the item you want so I am happy to have read that they got a raise but not happy that so many Sam's clubs were closed.p.s the watch was $7.98. read more

Friendly local store, may have less items to choose from but the necessities are almost always available. Smaller grocery area for picking up basic items like beer, milk, bread, and snack items. Awesome hardware isle, gardening area and beach & pool needs. Easy in & out. Often much less crowded. Less stuff means wifey spends less money - a plus, unless there is good clearance stuff. read more

Got here at 9:56 to pick up some Film for my Polaroid and they refused to let me in. They said they were closed. There was another group of people trying to spend money here also and they turned them away. Too bad I couldn't spend my money here. Never coming back. I've gone all over the country and been to a TON of Walmarts. Never have I ever experienced one this bad with employees this rude. Go to any other grocery store or Walmart , even if it's a bit of a drive. You'll be treated horribly here. On top of that, they hardly have anything and their set up is all over the place. Atrociously awful service. Never anyone at any other counter besides the front. Answers about getting help range from "well, someone should be there" to "i have no idea" to "yeah that's not my department". Heaven forbid if they have to go look at something once they are at the counter, they'd rather not sell it. Customer service on this past Monday, 8-13-2015, had a wait of about 30 minutes, there's no room, so up and down the frozen aisle AND the aisles around it, no sense of order. After the 12 or so transactions ahead of, the lady on the phone said she was too busy, and her partner looked at me, and then just moved on the next in line. Occasional, some surly teenage girl at the registers will be so rude that you don't even wish to conclude the transaction. Front doors feel off, like they open into the lobby instead of into the store, and then on the way out, into the store... not sure, haven't paid too much notice, but something is off.The labels on the way out tell you to use next door, but that door is DO NOT ENTER. Lobby out front is dingy, filled with junk, hot. Probably the first Wal Mart that I remember going into in my life, certainly the only one from that era still open regionally. There is an absolutely huge Super Center just a few miles off of the island. I would think that with their jobs on the line, in this day of difficult employment, the staff would be concerned with at least being as helpful as the super center reps, but not even close. The air seems to be to the opposite: as if they are so good they don't have to. Should be closed and have something else there, if not for any senior citzens on the island who can't get out to Yulee. Honestly, compared to other retailers in town, it seems as if the seniors have realized all of this and just do something else Not recommended except in emergencies concerning loss of life or limb. And even then, weigh your options carefully. read more

I simply love this smaller Wal-Mart. It's so much less noisy then the superstores, and the staff are all so very friendly. Every one that I spoke to was smiling, nice, and most helpful. I had to exchange two popular items and made mistake of running into superstore because it was on my way. Of course the superstore was out of stock, so on my way home, I went one street over to this location - they had plenty of sizes, colors, of item available! They even had items on clearance there that were still full price at the big loud location. I'm usually not a fan of most WalMarts, but I have fallen in love with this local find. I'm so glad to find one where the staff are so friendly and eager to be helpful. The isles were all well stocked, well organized, and very clean. It's nice to see at least this location has gotten it right. Sam Walton would be very proud!! Keep up the great work! ENJOY!! read more

I don't typically shop at Walmart, but now that I have a place in Fernandina Beach (woohoo!!!) I have had occasion to stop into the Walmart on the island a couple of times. I am absolutely amazed at how helpful and caring the staff is. So convenient for picking up a cell phone charger or some kitchen supplies. I feel so welcome, and the staff makes it so easy to shop here. It's more like shopping at a local market than shopping at a large conglomerate. I'm so thrilled to have this store at my doorstep. I am shocked by some of these negative reviews. I stopped in recently in a slight rush to pick up some necessities before an overnight shift at work. This isn't my usual Walmart so I'm sure I looked a little lost since the set up is different. A staff member immediately offered assistance and literally walked me to the items I needed. This has never in my life happened at a Walmart. Usually employees don't even know where items are! Much less escort me to them! When I was checking out, I noticed the cashier was actually on a first name basis with the customer behind me as they exchanged pleasantries. The entire experience was so pleasant I was sure I was in a twilight zone or something. I have since returned twice with equally enjoyable experiences. It's important to note this is just a Walmart, not a super Walmart, so do not expect to find the same amount of groceries. Luckily there are two grocery stores near by! read more

Extremely bad customer service. They only had self-service checkouts open or one limited item Lane. As we came up to the self checkout lanes, the woman in charge shut the light off from open lanes and made us wait. Machines were poorly functioning and workers were of no assistance. The store is dirty and poorly stocked. The hatred of tourists is palpable. (Who do you think keeps this quaint town alive??!) read more

While the employees are always friendly. I cannot figure out why management does not have more checkout cashiers. I checked myself out today. All the while 3 Walmart employed just stood at the exit area. Doing not much. 3 registers open. A drive to target is less frustrating. read more
