Wish they had a negative rating. This store was the best Walmart I had ever been in ... 10 years ago! Today...there is no stocking of products and they do not care. Did you know Amish people shopped at Walmart? Me either. Apparently they do at this one. It's a sight I'm still not used to yet. SO.... I strongly dislike Walmart. I don't like the way they use sweatshop labor to produce cheap goods (you know what the real price is, right? the lives and dignity of the workers). I also don't like the way they come into a town and steal all the customers away from local shops and services. I suspect this is what happened to Cynthiana. After all, the thinking is: why shop at all these little stores downtown when you can just go to Walmart and buy everything 'cheap' one in place? Unfortunately, I admit that sometimes Walmart is the only place to go when it's late at night, you're in a rush, you need to get a variety of stuff, you have little funds, and there's no other store like Target around. I cringe at this admission. A tiny part of me dies every time I step into Walmart and willingly purchase something. I truly wish there were more independent stores alive in town (my husband and I have already decided to frequent a few other places for some items), but looks like this Walmart will be my stop in the area when I need this or that. It's new-ish, clean-ish, and stocked with a variety of things from food (ick) to guns to laptops to clothes to baby products and more. Plus, they've got a Red Box.... and Amish sightings! read more

I came in to the service center for a battery change and this place has no urgency. I left my keys with them after purchasing my battery so they can change it out for me, was told no problem will be done by the time we got done shopping 30 min later after shopping they still hadn't got to my vehicle. Another 25 min they finally got to my vehicle after watching 3 of them just going at the slowest pace (must be getting paid by the hour not the job). Then it took them close to 15 min to get it changed which is crazy! I would have done it myself if I didn't have other stops to make and already had to get a jump. Never coming back to this Walmart service shop again. read more

Random fact! When I was a college student my roommate was from Florida because she always went to Target. I took her on her very first Walmart trip. Being the mother of a toddler, I enjoy the convenience of the Walmart here. Great selection of items, just like you would find at other super centers. This Walmart has a bank, eye care center, pharmacy, Subway, and a redbox. The hair salon recently went out of business. Whenever I can, I support smaller/local businesses. Hopefully one day Georgetown will get a Target. Until then... Walmart it is. read more

I asked for a trail camera at the service desk they didn't even come to find me to tell me they didn't have it. After 15 minutes of waiting at the self checkout I had to find them to find out they didn't have any in stock when they had several on display that was supposedly out of stock... read more

just a note to Laura N. ... they are probably Mennonites not Amish... other than that I agree with a lot you have written in your review! gave our store in cynthiana 4 stars because relatively speaking it is superior to most wal-marts in kentucky! (i have been to a lot of them-both as customer and merchandiser). the people who work at ours, especially the night crew (10pm-6am or so) are great! Try shopping then if you want a pleasant experience...few crying babies, cart collisions, and grouchy folk. read more
