It is what the new vision of dollar general wants to be. There is produce (no thanks there are multiple farmers markets near by) and they are expanding their footprint square footage wise. They are also getting rid of the junk stuff to put in your yard and putting products you would buy. I always love self checkout (sorry if your a cashier). I have a DG a couple blocks away from my house and it's so bad. It's basically a late 90's store with water damage everywhere and the staff is horrific in the less than 10 times I've stopped there in 13 years. I always stop or drive over the mountain to come here if my wife needs something.

With that being said, I ventured in, and was blown away. The place is clean overall, and the shelves are stacked neatly and organized, and the deals are beyond crazy. The staff is friendly, and helpful. I walked out with 10 bags of Herr's chips that would normally sell for $2.49 to $3.49 a bag, I paid a dollar a bag. So, with that, ten varying bags for me lol. After I wrote the above paragraph, I went back in to take a look at the carpets, and they are in dire need of replacing, as they are stained, worse in some aisles than others, along with the rips. I still give them 4-5 star ratings, because, although the carpets are in need of Replacement, the functionality of the overall business is beyond reproach. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, and the products, besides the boxes left on the sales floor, with what looks to be overage, is exceptional. It's a great deal, so visit them, and overlook the carpet until they get that together. Till then

I bought some really nice thick quality socks here that could of easily been sold at Boscov's at $5.99, I paid $1! The food section has most of there items from other countries which to me is very refreshing. In their pet area I bought 18 artificial plants for my 75 gallon fish tank at $1 each! Most of them were the 24 inch long plants! In a pet store I would have paid at least around $10.99 each! Another area I love here is their hardware isle! For $1 each they have amazing tools and accessories for home projects! The light bulb selection is great too! Their small night light packs are 4 bulbs for $1 like the old days, now dollar tree only offers 3 for $1. Their electronics section has a variety of audio cables that sell at Walmart for around $6.99, here they are $1! They also have a freezer cooler section. One reviewer on here complained about the dirty floors and posted pictures, well, there is now new owners and the place is clean and friendly.

Many times they are out of milk in the popular grades (2% or whole) and they close often without warning so I find them to be unreliable for a lot of my shopping, but they are great for quick trips. I'm hoping they are able to get it together and get things on track because I think it could be a great little place for the wyomissing area.

It could, frankly, be better stocked, but it will suffice. The change in attitude from previous experiences was markedly improved. A real plus is that gas prices (aweful as they are) are kept competative so far, which is nice since it is the closes station around. A big THANKS for that.
