He walked me out to my vehicle to show me that (huzzah!) my tires were only half-worn and didn't need replacing yet. (Had I strolled into another local tire place, I probably would have gotten the old, "Oh wow. You've been driving on these for how long? They must be changed immediately!"-routine.) But not Russ and his crew. The one suggestion the owner made was a tire rotation, which I took him up on. Service was speedy and the staff was very customer-friendly. This appointment was made at the recommendation of another Outstanding garage. The garage that did the recommendation had completed ALL work and had inspected the car. The ONLY thing that the car was in need of was an alignment. TWO DAYS LATER, I OPENED UP MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT TO SEE A $462 charge! I contact my son-in-law he tells me that they told him he needed two rear tires. Their argument is, they said my son-in-law says he needed two tires and an alignment! This is nonsense! What garage takes two PERFECTLY GOOD TIRES off of a car and replaces them? Oh, and for the record, these tires were just bought last February. They were less than a year old. First off If I could give zero stars I would. I went in for a NYS inspection that was performed…read moreimproperly. I was checked in at the counter and proceeded to wait in the lobby for the inspection. There was one male tech and a women working the counter. The women pulled my vehicle into the bay turned the car off and handed the paperwork to the tech. The tech / inspector DID NOT run a light check on exterior lights of the vehicle and never check for any safety features inside nor did he check the parking brake or the brake pedal functionality. The car was never started again until the OBDII part of the inspection. The tech then put the car up on the lift and proceeded to check under neath the car with the girl from the counter. No wheels were taken off at this point. The girl from the counter then came and told me that my front rotors failed for delamination. I looked at the rotors under the car with the tech and did not agree with his ruling and said I had my NYS inspectors license I don't agree. He then proceeded to say it's going to fail for delamination and there going to finish my inspection. He then proceeded to put my car back on the ground and was going to run my car through the system. I then said I would like a report on how the rotors are out of spec. The women at the counter said it will be on the NYS inspection report. The tech then pulled my passenger tire off walked away for few seconds and then put it back on. He then ran my car through inspection, scraped off my sticker by failing it with the rotors and put the report inside the car. He then backed my car out and I left. I was so irritated by the failure I looked to see what the report said and it said nothing for rotors failing it says Failed Safety Items: Service Brake system. It also says he removed my L/F, R/F, L/R tires from the car which he did not and checked my brakes with approved brake tester. I went back to confront them about the inspection and said he didn't even do basic checks, and he denied and said he checked them when he got in the car. The only time he was in the car was to one be on his knees to plug the OBDII port into the system and to back it out after the inspection. I also asked where he seen any cracking and the measurements on the rotors, I said I want that report because he has no proof to fail the car, he didn't care and was like good luck proving it. They both said the car failed due to scoring. I will also note that the pads have a ton of life and are nowhere near metal to metal on the surface. The rotors have typical NYS use and rust I then left disgusted with the service and said I will be contacting corporate and NYS about this to have his license revoked and a fined served.

They have all their service in a company wide data base as well so typically they run your plates in their tablet and they know what they did the last time. They use that to upsell you as well but generally routine maintenance. I figure some day I'll learn to change my own oil and I'll never come back and will not miss jiffy lube but I generally don't feel ripped off here. Generally the wait is pretty short too, but they don't do appointments. You know... jiffy lube.

Explained that the repairs weren't urgent and quoted me a price for the repairs that I chose to schedule at a later date. No pressure -just understanding and information. While I was waiting, it became clear that both of their tire techs called out sick. They had people scheduled. Daniele was the employee at the desk. She called those people and explained that there would be delays and explained the situation. She gave the customers the option of rescheduling or dropping off with a later pick-up time. In one case, she even helped set up an appointment at another area Mavis. She did this with kindness and patience. Hats off to Danielle -grace under pressure.
