It was starting to rain, so I had to get it fixed right away. I initially went to O'Reilly Auto Parts, right across the AJ Highway from Advance Auto Parts, but my experience there was very unpleasant. The clerk at O'Reilly's told me that my blades were special order items. Since they didn't have any in stock, he said that he couldn't help me. I said, "I don't need these particular blades. I'll take any blades. I'm desperate." He then told me that he didn't have any windshield wiper blades in the entire store that would fit my car (a 2007 Honda Civic). I said, "There's nothing you can do for me?" He said, "No." (For more details, see my scathing review of O'Reilly Auto Parts, also on Yelp.) This was discouraging, but thankfully I decided to head across the street to Advance Auto Parts. This was an entirely different experience. Dylan and Matt were friendly, courteous, energetic, and knowledgeable. Unlike the guy at O'Reilly's, they seemed to want to spare me the ordeal of driving home in the rain without a windshield wiper. Unlike the guy at O'Reilly's, they were familiar with the wiper blades on my car. They also had them in stock. They mentioned that my car has a "standard J hook," which makes me think that the guy at O'Reilly's was wrong when he said that my car requires special blades. Within five minutes, the new blade was on my car and the transaction was complete. I am very impressed with Advance Auto Parts and will recommend this business to my friends and clients.

After getting our 5 year old Duralast battery jumped-off, we drove to Advanced Auto Parts, priced a battery over the phone, but decided to give autozone a call since they're the ones who sold the Duralast brand. Eddie was more than helpful matching up the right battery, testing the old one to verify fault, and giving me different price options to choose from. I was interested in the three year Gold battery, but when I asked Eddie if he happened to notice what my old battery was when he tested it, and he said it was just a 2-year battery that had lasted that long. Even though he could've used the opportunity to take advantage of me and upsell a 3 year, he was honest and gave us the less-expensive 2 year battery! (Most parts stores wouldn't contain such integrity as I've learned from personal experience of having been taking advantage of in the past) Eddie was intelligent, smiling, helpful, and patient with me. He went above and beyond to get us back into a state of security and peace of mind with our car's health. He even sold me some battery terminal lubricant to protect against corrosion. I had already purchased a new set of felt washers in the trunk from a recent battery replacement for another vehicle we own, but he made sure I knew to use them to prolong the battery's lifespan! My wife and I were grateful to have found a man who wanted to take care of US first, then our car. And more importantly, someone who wasn't just out for the sell, but to help!
