I don't question the quality of the repair, but don't assume you are saving money vs a Honda dealership. My last repair at Wally's was approximately 25% MORE than Honda West when I outlined the exact work done by Wally's for a quote. Generally speaking you expect a 20% discount (over a dealer) when you go to an independent because they have WAY less overhead... so before you have any work done at Wally's get a second quote from a Honda dealership. read more

In January 2025, we brought in a 2001 Camry to repair a fuel leak manufactured by another auto repair shop (which I will write my next review about). This was evident in the gas smell in our garage which did not exist before taking it to that business. Wally's confirmed the gas smell upon arrival, then found that "the fuel line has been snagged, yanked, and crushed and is now leaking fuel." Additionally, the "fuel line was not mounted properly during previous work." Furthermore, the "metal shield above fuel pump has been cut and bent 'modified,' indicating that this area has been tampered with previously." Service advisor, Ken H., remarked that he had never before seen such work in all of his years in automotive repair. The repair entailed replacing the plastic and metal fuel lines between the fuel tank and fuel filter, as well as the fuel pump housing. Wally's ordered one of the required parts from Toyota, which took a week to arrive, before the work could begin. We left the car with them for that duration because it was unsafe to drive the vehicle, or park it in our garage, due to the risk of the gas leak igniting. The grand total to repair the vandalization, including labor, parts, and supplies, was $1,800. Veleda E. was the service advisor who we communicated with throughout most of the process. She was patient with us. She took the time to explain the diagnosis, recommendation, estimated and final costs. We chose this shop because we like how the specialize exclusively in servicing automobiles from Japanese manufacturers. read more

Didn't even and up using them since we were lied to twice before they even checked the car. We called and asked for generic prices for break pads and rotor services. They could tell us, which is unusual to not have a ball park price for breaks. We were told we needed to schedule for inspection before they can price. (sales tactic and a lie but whatever). So we scheduled for a friday morning We were going to be just a few minutes late to the appointment, we called and to inform them. We were told they are completely booked and would need to reschedule for Monday. Okay, fair enough, if being 5-10 min late means we get pushed back I guess that's our fault. We rescheduled for Monday. (Again weird, never heard this before since places take walk ins all the time and allow you to wait). They didn't allow that. So we scheduled for Monday in store before driving home. When getting home and Upon checking their appointment availability just to make sure, we noticed every single spot for the same Friday, the same exact say they said was booked, was completely open. Every time slot was available So we were annoyed but decided to book a tike slot 30 min later, because it was open. We get notified by text that our appoint was set and good to go. We drive the car back, and were told that they already told us they are booked. When we told them we made another appointment she said they are too busy and they are booked. We told the lady every single spot was available and we schedule it using their website. She looked confused and dumbfounded. This indicated they took walk ins over appointments, which we were told previously before making eight appointment, that we could not do. So that's 2x we were lied to. She then said, well we can't promise we will be able to do the appointment and get to your car today so we will stick with your Monday appointment. 1. Can provide basic pricing for breaks. 2. Lied 2x 3. Clearly don't update their scheduling 4. Take walk ins over appointments. We immediately found another place that told us immediately what they charge(seemed fair) and told us when they can take us. So we booked a tile with them. We will not be using Wally's. Poor start to their services. read more

If you're looking for honesty and fair pricing, keep looking. Even though their website claims they won't charge you for anything you don't need and that they have fair pricing it is absolutely a lie. I had my car towed in and I guess they thought they could take advantage and charge 3x the cost for a repair. Instead, I had it towed back to my house, bought the part online and hired a different mechanic to repair it. Just another crooked mechanic who overbills and tries to take advantage. Took our car in for an oil change and had a great experience. They were very up front about the price, providing me with a clear after tax estimate for the cost (which was very reasonable!). They were also really accommodating to my availability changes relating to my appointment time. They checked for other potential service needs and gave me an update on what may be upcoming, but didn't push me to schedule any additional work today. They even troubleshooted an issue with my tire pressure sensor for me (which took extra time that they didn't charge me for), for a service they don't even provide here! Very helpful overall. Looking for a place for Eva (my 1986 Honda Prelude Si) to get some TLC, I finally wandered to Wally's shop. No frills place, nothing fancy but they sure do know their stuff. Needless to say my baby needs some minor extensive work, much more than just the required oil change I wanted for her. The guys there know their Hondas, knew exactly what was needed for my ride to be in tip top shape. But bad news for me, the work is gonna cost me a pretty penny. Wally's is very knowledgeable with their import cars, but dang the prices kinda show. I have no qualms with them probably doing high quality work but for me, average-pay Asian guy, labor rates run a bit high it seems. I'm guessing in the low hundreds per hour. And they are most likely worth it. They took nearly an hour to look over my classic ride and get the oil change done. I could tell in Wally's face that I might not want the answers he had for me when the inspection was done. And wow, was I in for a doozy! Got a nice tiny seal breach starting on the power steering (gasket is wet) that needs to be monitored closely, which means I need to check on the power steering fluid each time I drive Eva. Unfortunately the only replacement is an entire new steering rack which will set me back some coin. I will need a major checkup down the line soon as well. Damn! Wish I was Super Mario right now so I could just whack a few bricks for some extra dough. Warning for you wannabe classic car owners now...keep up proper maintenance! It will keep your ride healthy for more miles down the road. My only regret here is that I wasn't a trained mechanic myself so I could the work on my own baby. Wally and his crew did good work going through Eva and keeping her right. I will probably be back for more service...as soon as I get some additional green in my wallet! read more

I've been coming to them for several years now for my nearly 20 year old Honda. Because of the make of my vehicle, I've only had to come to them 3 times in the past 4 years. They specializes and only work on certain makes (I believe it's Honda, Toyota, and Acura). They know what they're doing! A huge plus that puts them apart from any average technician shop is that they use Honda parts for my car. First, I went to them to change the timing belt. They change the accessory belts as well. The price is about the same that your going to get anywhere else. Plus they guaranteed that work for 1 year. Next, I went to get my radiator replaced which had broken due to wear and tear. Prices again were fair and they are efficient and timely with their work. Today, I took it in to get the ATF checked and see why my AC was wasn't blowing any cold air in this extreme heat. I was almost sure they were going to tell me my compressor needed to get replaced (which is mad expensive). But to my surprise, it was just the AC hose that needed replacement due to leaks. The ATF was dirty and needed to get serviced. My car runs even better and I sincerely appreciate their honest work. I'll continue to come here! Thanks Wally's! read more

Front desk man with dark hair/features can be condescending if you catch him on a bad day. This is a profession you train in, this information is not "common sense". Act like a professional when an uninformed person asks a question about how their car works. It's like me talking to you like an idiot for not knowing how things in the software engineering industry work. Rather not deal with this each visit. Humble yourself. Totally hidden gem tucked in the beginning of chinatown area. I wouldn't have known this place existed if it wasn't for high rated yelp reviews. My promotional service for oil changes has ended for my 4runner and have been looking for a trustworthy shop that can fill the void of the toyota dealership and having reasonable prices. I was able to book an appt online so conveniently without having to bug them over the phone. I received a confirmation email minutes later. I showed up to my appt on time and my rig was finished within an hour. The mechanic told me everything checked out fine and I didn't even know they did they were going to do a full inspection without a charge. I'm always hesitant with auto-repair and service places because of prior experiences being taken advantage of, but I was so impressed with the level of honesty and transparency I received. Ernesto's Service was my mechanic for years because of their integrity and good work. Ernesto had been diagnosed with cancer so he closed up his shop. His son Alex recommended that I come to Wally's Precision Auto Care for my 2002 Toyota 4Runner. I hate taking my car to shops where I feel like their trying to make as much money as possible off of me and tell me something is wrong when everything is fine. I didn't get that vibe here at all. Ernesto's recommendation carries a lot of weight. I trust Ernesto, so I trust Wally's. The staff here over the phone was friendly and helpful with all the questions that I had prior to coming for my first visit. I had my battery replaced, minor maintenance, fixed a rear drum brake, and an oil change. They were very thorough with the inspection of my vehicle and gave me a printout that listened the entire diagnostics of my car. I was able to meet the owner of the shop when I came by to pick up the car. He was professional and friendly as well. I took my Honda Fit in to see about new shocks and any other repairs it might need. Got a quote about a few things but nothing they said that was in need of immediate repair. I set up an appointment for the shocks and left. Later that evening my starter starts acting funny before ceasing to work altogether. Called and told them about the problem and got a really long, polite explanation about how sometimes things happen right after getting checked out and it's just bad timing. Whatever.
