There are 8 cinemas with wall to wall screens featuring high-definition and very clear digital sound. They offer discount for groups of 20 and above. Purchasing can be made online using their user-friendly interface. The downside is they do charge you a small fee of $1.50 for this service. In summary, I definitely think Reading is one of the most competitive cinemas around.

Not only do you quite often get a private movie session, the theatre rooms are reminiscent of a different era. The screens are smaller than your average movie cinema and less seats in each but it does not detract from the ambience at all. They also have a licensed bar on the premises and the popcorn combos are not half as much as the cinema chains. The ticket price in comparison is crazy as well, especially on tight as Tuesdays!

For those not in the know, Gold Class is one of the cinema types that Event Cinemas offer and it is beyond amazing. Event Cinemas really have a wide range of cinema experiences. Besides just the ordinary cinema experience, they also have a stadium like cinema configuration called Vmax which in my opinion is worth splurging the extra $4-5 for to get the leather seats, extra legroom and cup holders. I went to see Ted in vmax but even better was Fast and the Furious Five. Tickets are reasonably priced and the queue generally isn't that bad. If there is one gripe I have about this place, it is the snack bar. Yes, they have a great range, popcorn, chocolates, soft drinks, lollies, but at $6 for a small bag of M&M's, the pricing is outrageous. Even the small popcorn has a premium of $6.50. And they don't particularly like it if you bring your own food in either - they have sort of eased this a bit though. To summarize, when you go up the escalator to Event Cinemas Marion, you are very literally going up a stairway to cinema heaven. You shall love what Event has to offer. Both stainless steel pots leaked boiling water down the side of them as you poured which ran off the table and down onto my leg. I was glad I had jeans on or else I would have been badly burnt. I emailed Event Cinema's, they replied over a month and a half later and the only response they had was "we are sorry this happened to you, we have not had anyone complain about the tea pots before." These cinemas are very poorly managed, and they don't take their customers seriously. I emailed them as I didn't want anyone else to be burnt the same way!

It still has a "crying" room for babies with carers, a gallery upstairs and a downstairs easily accessed for those who have trouble with stairs, or heights. They also hire out the venue for fundraisers, and the Royal Flying Doctors et al fit beatifully into the atmosphere with their crusts-cut-off curried egg sandwiches and sparkling wine. The best place to sit? Front and centre upstairs. You get a little shelf to put your sustinance and no one to block your view. But don't take my seat!

I've been twice now and it's defiantly the best Cinema in Adelaide at the moment.
