Bailey, were throughout the whole process. There are so many things to think about in planning a service and it's often difficult to think clearly when you are grieving. B.C. Bailey anticipated everything that we would need, before we even knew we needed it. They handled every detail, no matter how small. The entire staff is genuine, caring and so very kind. They went out of their way to make a difficult time in our lives so much easier. If there were more than 5 stars to give them, I would do it.

I don't even think this employee took a moment to say he was sorry for my loss. Once upstairs, he immediately started speaking of pricing, letting me know that "freezers and electricity cost money so you have to hurry up and decide what you want to do." Thanks B.C. Bailey funeral home for now placing the image of my young daughter in a freezer in my mind, as if I wasn't already suffering and grieving enough. He put tremendous pressure upon me to decide what my next move was going to be, stating that I would not find a better price elsewhere. I excused myself and left in tears. And I did in fact find a funeral home with a heart and with better prices. I felt bullied and uncared for. I could not imagine having a service for my loved one under the direction of this funeral home.

It is the resting place of Moses Y Beach, founder of the Associated Press (AP), and Thomas Yale, brother of the founder of Yale University. There is also a memorial to Lyman Hall, who was born in Wallingford, and was a signer of The Declaration of Independence, though his burial place is in Georgia. In addition to all that, it is the resting place of my mom, both her parents, her brother (my uncle James, my namesake), and my dad. I come here on birthdays, mother's & father's days to reflect & remember them with love & fondness. It's the oldest cemetery in town, with a lot of history.

I went to Green Kettle down the street for a Yelp Elite Experience; decided to explore the town and saw that this old cemetery was created in circa 1683. That is super awesome and historic. The people that built this cemetery were alive in the 1600s! There are newer plots too. For an old cemetery, it's nicely maintained. I loved seeing all the older plaques from the 1600s to 1800s. I always imagine what life was like back then and seeing gravestones from that era transports me back just a little. If you like serene walks and history, I highly recommend a visit and pay respect to those who walked this earth before us.

As professionals entrusted with arranging a memorial service for a young person in our care, we were searching for a funeral home that would treat this child (and everyone involved) with dignity, compassion, and respect. From the moment we walked into Prospect Memorial, we knew we had found exactly that. Kim welcomed us into a private space where we could gather our thoughts and discuss every detail without feeling rushed. She has a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and supported during unimaginable circumstances. Throughout the entire planning process, she met us with patience, kindness, and genuine empathy. We later learned that Kim's background as a nurse has clearly shaped the way she cares for families. Her compassion extends far beyond logistics. She thoughtfully guided us through decisions we never wanted to have to make, offering recommendations that honored this child's unique life and circumstances, including helping us find an appropriate cemetery and coordinating beautiful floral arrangements. What I'll remember most is the way Kim cared not only for the child we were honoring, but also for those of us carrying the responsibility of planning the service. She repeatedly reminded my colleagues and me that our hearts were in the right place and that our efforts mattered. Those words may seem small, but during an incredibly heavy time, they meant more than I can express. The service itself was beautiful. The funeral home is immaculate, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating a peaceful environment for remembrance. Every member of the staff was attentive, respectful, and quietly ensured that everything unfolded seamlessly. They allowed us to focus on honoring this young life instead of worrying about the countless details behind the scenes. I sincerely hope I never find myself in a position where I need to plan another child's funeral. But if I ever need funeral services for a loved one, personally or professionally, I would not hesitate to return to Prospect Memorial. Kim and her entire team provided extraordinary care during one of the most difficult moments imaginable, and I will always be grateful for the compassion they showed to everyone involved. I hope this review conveys even a fraction of the gratitude we feel toward Kim and her team. They helped make an impossible task just a little more bearable, and that is something I'll never forget.
