im stunned they have a 3 star rating ... been taking my pets here since 2004 and i love them so much i moved away and am now over an hour away with several vets closer and i still take my pets here! they've been fantastic every visit! from putting down our 16 year old dog with great care on tuesday, to my dog maxs surgery a few years ago to fix his hip and knee, these guys have come through every time! really not sure, maybe people are overreacting over a single incident? dont know. all i know is for 22 years and running now, these guys have done a great job caring for our pets! thx guys! ps- no idea why its listing me as living in san fran. last time i was in san fran was 1978 ... huguenot ny here now! thanks! read more

The team here (and there are many I have met and known and could list by name) has walked with us through every stage of our pets' lives, from puppyhood to end-of-life care, and they've always treated us--and our animals--with empathy and respect. Worst experience ever. Went here as an emergency because normal Vet is hour away. Dog had been vomitting and had diarrhea. I was asked about a stool sample by Doctor. I did not remember being asked for one which I told the Doctor. Later receptionist came in and said she had and berated me for " throwing her under the bus." Later the Doctor came in and berated me as well and basically called me a liar even though I explained I did not remember being asked for one. Then receptionist came back and berated me again. I was able to get an appointment for my sick cat within 2 days as a new patient. I had no wait time once I arrived. The office has an in-house lab so we didn't have to wait a day or more for the results. My cat was treated in the office and I was given her prescription medication based on the exam and the lab results. I was given a copy of the lab results as well as literature to review and consider for future treatment options. The staff was exceptional from the front desk, the vet tech, to the veterinary doctor. I was out of the office within an hour. Highly recommend! read more

Horrible experience. Before adapting 2 stray kitties we brought them in for spaying surgery. Besides the fact that they charge us arm and the leg, they cut our cats ears literally on a half. All normal vets if they do this surgery cut a little piece and only if cats release back to the streets. In addition to cutting HALF of ear off, they sent them home infected and bloody. One of the cats still didn't heal and its already month past. Why would any vet do that???? Its mean and abusive. I had to take this baby to the different vet to heal her ear and they were in shock how much they cut off. I am very mad and I don't understand how can any vet do that to an animal. Very cruel. I would never recommend these kind of vets to anyone. read more

On a Friday, my cat was ill & I had not found a local vet since we moved here a year ago. I called my regular vet in Warwick NY & they were booked solid so I needed to find someone local. NOTE TO PET OWNERS: Find a local vet before you need them. I was foolish to wait but don't make my mistake. ALSO find & save the name, number & address for an EMERGENCY VET. This will highly likely be different from your regular vet. In an emergency, you WILL NOT have time to find the best/closest place to go. After calling a couple of vets we found on Google who were booked, we took a chance & called Wallenpaupack Veterinary. Miracle of miracles, they had a cancellation & got us in that afternoon. The vet listened to my concerns & gave me options for tests. I didn't feel they were doing unnecessary procedures or tests to pad the bill. Turns out there was nothing seriously wrong with my cat BUT seeing Wallenpaupack Veterinary gave me piece of mind going into the weekend. read more

I am very surprised with the negative reviews and especially the vicious complaints about Angel. She has been lovely with us and our five pets (including three who had to be euthanized) over the past five years we've had Wallenpaupack Veterinary Clinic -- specifically Heather Dean, DVM -- care for our cats and kittens. Angel sent us a personal sympathy card when my Junebug died two years ago. Dr. Dean is caring, considerate and great vet! (My only "problem" with Wallenpaupack Veterinary Clinic is Dr. Dean is no longer working there and I am going crazy trying to find her. She is the only vet my two rescue girly girl kittens (see photo) -- Sushi B. Anthony & Ruthy Bader Ginsburg -- have ever known. I want to continue to have Dr. Dean care for them. Does anyone know when she is practicing now???) I have had instances when I lost my cool dealing with customer service personnel as well as professionals providing services to me, whether it is veterinary services or other environments, when I have to engage with people. I think if anyone is having a significant problem with anyone at Wallenpaupack Veterinary Clinic, you may want to think about your own behavior. When we have sick pets, we are likely to be extremely sensitive and over-reactive. I don't like to rate drs or vets as most of then really care ...but if you are planning to go to this clinic- ask for dr Morgan. she is great. If you get the other vet , you will be pushed to get the most expensive meds , plus you will need to ask all and any questions he didn't bother to answer in the first place. We came with specific concerns for our sick dog , but was treated as it was just a routine visit. And only after blood work was giving same meds as she was on before + $175 in new and "improved" when asked for a script as we can get it cheaper in our local pharmacy- I was denied. I know , these days everyone have to make money. But most of us need to save it. read more

I have had terrible experiences with this Vet. First off they won't allow you to schedule with a specific vet, I've tried multiple times (they have one good one but you can't ensure your pet will see her). I recently had to put my chocolate lab down, it's hard enough as is. They made us do it in the back of our car, next to their employees car that had their car Alarm off, the vet (male and more on him to come) took 4 attempts to administer a shot to our old guy, then asked us to move our car....!!!!! The dog wasn't dead. I had to move my car to a handicap parking lot. I asked "you want me to move my car? He isn't gone." Yeah move your car. It took another shot at this point and finally they managed to put my 14 year old, friend, and member of my family down. So that sucked. However I still did not fire them at this point, shame on me. We are fostering a dog. He is scared of men, we tried again to schedule with a specific doctor. They moved our appointment a week to accommodate, my wife explained he is skittish. We didn't get the doctor again we requested. The same guy that isn't very good at putting dogs down then came out and told my wife "you should have gotten rid of that dog yesterday", he is aggressive and he bit them. We followed up with the vet tech because we where worried he hurt someone and the tech said the dog didn't bite anyone. So you can't get the vet you want. If your pet has special issues IE scared of men they will send a man in the room, who will then tell you the dog should be gotten rid of like trash. And lastly. If you need to say goodbye to family member/friend do yourself a favor and think hard about working with this vet. read more

The owner, Dr. N is super unprofessional. He made a mistake and didn't measure my medication correctly the first time. I went to pick up the remaining prescription and he comes out YELLING at me. Telling me I was giving it to my kitten incorrectly( which I wasn't ). Very unprofessional. I work for in the health field and I would never speak to anyone like that. read more

Got me in when i needed it, though i had to sit in my car while my dog went in by herself. I specifically asked then not to do anything not included in the exam without consenting me as i'm on a very limited budget. They did an ultrasound without my knowledge or consent and charged me 64$! They refused to take the ultrasound off of the bill and i was made to pay it! The lady even admitted it was a miscommunication on their end and that it is their fault! DO NOT USE THIS VET! Absolute worst customer service from Angel. She was yelling at me when I called to ask why my dog did not get a vaccine. Read the other reviews - you will see Angel as anger management issues and should never be the face to the customer or even talk to any customer. Had my pet's records from the prior vet emailed to them 5 times and they still claimed they never received them. When I took my dog to get a vaccine, they did not know what vaccines to give her, even though I had verbally told them. Angle argued with me for 10 minutes, cutting me off, never taking accountability. I asked to speak to the owner, she would not let me. She was incredibly rude. And oh yes, I never got a call back for follow-up on my dog's cancer. Too bad, because Dr. Morgan is a good vet. read more

My 4 1/2 year old black male cat was diagnosed with diabetes by Dr. Diene on December 15, 2017. Under here care his condition rapidly deteriorated. Upon realizing this, I immediately removed him from her care and took him to Shohola Animal Hospital where Dr. DeMeo immediately hospitalized him for three days after she determined that I wasn't there for euthanasia. One day shortly thereafter, I was discussing pets with the wife of my mechanic for five years. Come to find out, sadly she lost two kittens that were be treated at this facility. She swore to me she would never return. If you value the life of your pet, then it's best that you stay as far away from this facility as you possibly can. If it were possible to sue for malpractice on Dr. of Veterinary Medicine and have her license taken away from her, I would have. Update: Saylor is now in full remission after being in the care of Dr. DeMeo! read more

I brought my kitten in for a blood test to make sure that she didn't eat some mouse poison. I will second the review that said they were unfriendly and cold. And also a bit nosy about my personal life (nosy and cold at the same time is hard to pull off, but they did it!) My biggest beef is with the fact that they shaved a 2 inch square on my cats neck for a blood draw. I had a long-haired cat for 17 years, and never once was such a thing necessary. When I got her back, there was a weird smell on her neck, too, and some clumped fur (not near the shaved part) and she was trembling. What the hell did they do to her when they brought her 'in the back'? I could overlook a sorta rude front-desk staff, but the care itself is really questionable. I should have known when Milford animal hospital was booked for three solid days but this place had same-day availability, that there was something up here. read more

We've been using WVC for 17 yrs. Before moving here permanently, our cat was sick and needed to have a urine sample tested. My husband ran it over to WVC before we were clients and it was a Saturday at closing time. Dr. Nebzydoski took the sample no problem and ran the test for us and gave us the appropriate meds w/o seeing the cat. We were most grateful and when we permanently moved up here, with our 3 dogs and 2 cats, I can say they have had the best care possible. I never have a problem requesting which doctor l want to see, and I've always found the staff to be most pleasant. They are a very busy practice which I understand. Sometimes it helps to be a little bit patient I find. I've been in there where I've seen some pretty rude and demanding owners. Not their pets. read more

Would leave no stars if I could. It is now one year since Dr Joe diagnosed my (very ill at the time) dog with liver disease and gave us the option to "put her down". Fortunately, we opted to take her home and see what happens. I did my own research on the disease and started her on Milk Thistle, which many people seemed to have had success with. One year later, my 14 year old baby is still thriving. Maybe Dr Joe needs to read up on alternatives instead of suggesting you kill your precious pet ! read more

My 9 year old Wheaten terrier had an emergency visit today with Dr. Nebzydoski. In all of my life I have never been spoken to with as much animosity and hostility as I experienced today. Maybe the doc was having a bad day, or maybe this is the way he treats all of his customers. It may have been a misunderstanding (he came to my car and I did not know who he was, he was reminding me to wear a mask). I said "I'm just sitting in my car". He started to scream at me telling me to go back to NY. Screaming like a lunatic. Then he walked away as I attempted to learn more. What is wrong with this man??? This was a horrible experience. I apologize if he thought I was being difficult but no one deserves to be mistreated the way I was today. The man is abusive, arrogant, totally without any compassion or understanding. I was having a kitten neutered and on my way to pick him up I adopted another. When I got the bill, they charged me $30 to remove a kitten tooth, FROM A KITTEN!!!! I have spent a lot of money there over the years and I told them if they charged me for the tooth they would never see the new one. Another time, my husband brought one of the dogs to check something. They gave him a rabies shot, which he had a few months prior. Don't they check their records????? They have them right there in front of them!!! They did credit me for that. 2 weeks ago I found worms in the cats. They told me to bring in a stool sample which was not easy, they go out a lot. I was finally able to get the sample and then was told they would have to see the cats and could not give me the meds. Another way to get an office visit charge out of me. I was also thrilled, two days ago, to find that my 19lb Romeo didn't need to have any teeth pulled. Just scaling and treatment for gingivitis was performed by a highly competent Dr. Dein. After having blood test, which by the way was negative, myself, and family members who were also present at the time of visit, paid up to $80.00 plus for the heartworm medicine, now when I needed it for this season, I was told by a rude employee named "ANGEL", it never happened, basically calling me a liar. No, I have integrity, you "ANGEL" are the liar, you were the one behind the desk who took my money, which I am assuming you put in your pocket and never wrote down what our family purchased. The truth will come out and your boss will see that you are the disrespectful, story telling liar. Doctor did great job on my pet but it is unfortunate that you didn't see the side of a client, and p.s. by the way "ANGEL" is exactly what I said she was and is and she is so much more.She was rude and derogatory with me, a paying client, but I guess the vet didn't hear that. Very rude and cold. A few years ago my two dogs were run over by a 4 wheeler, we never found out who, but the end result was one had to be put down the other needed major surgery. The one who had to be put down went to Wallenpaupack vet the other to Scranton hospital. The one who we had to make the difficult decision to put down would have been paralyzed in hind legs. Long story short the vet tech came into us and threw a paper on the table telling us to sign to "kill" our dog .. I was mortified !!!! I went home crying. The vet tech was ordered to call and apologize to me. Her apologized summed up was she was having a bad day. Really ? A bad day I was so disgusted. The reason I write this now is because we now have a little puppy we bought before quarantine. She's been having difficulty walking so I called over to them to see about getting her in. After getting the third degree of questions, I told them forget about it, I will travel somewhere else to have her looked at. I tried to give them another shot but I am definitely never going to be using this veterinary clinic again. People who work with animals shouldn't be so heartless and rude ! read more

Wow, I'm glad I never read some of these reviews before I went to Wallenpaupack Vet Clinic. I volunteered for a cat rescue group in NYC and have interacted with a number of vets. Four years ago, I moved to this area and went to this clinic, half-expecting to try it out and maybe move on to another because I'm picky. Nope. I've been coming here ever since, and the veterinarian I request is Dr. Dein. I am appreciative of her expertise and her concern for my cats. I'm still fostering for the same rescue group and I've brought in cats with varying illnesses and problems, and I'm completely satisfied. I request Dr. Dein but other vets at this clinic have been fine, too. I also think the entire staff is friendly and considerate. And believe me, I've had plenty of experience with veterinary clinics so I know what I'm talking about. read more

For as yet unexplained reasons they flat out refused to board my pets even after soaking me for vaccines they claimed my babies needed. Antiquated office , inept to handle real emergencies , refer you to bigger and more equipped facilities which are in New York . Staff is unorganized and slow . Vet techs can't even answer basic questions and are lazy . The doctors especially Dien are snotty and curt . Dr Andy the owner is pompous and really should put some money into his practice to meet the needs of the animals he treats in the area . Not many choices of veterinary care in the area as this was convenient .. no more .. they hurt my animal , I question he even received the care they said they gave and saw first hand how carless and clueless they are . We brought our cat in the other day for a 2nd opinion. A different vet had wanted us to try a $900-$2000 procedure, but we couldn't afford that. The staff at WVC were very friendly to us and really listened to our concerns. They ran only the necessary tests (so we didn't get socked double for all the same tests), and we walked out of the office with just antibiotics. The cat is doing beautifully. We were impressed that we called at 1:15 and got an appointment for 3:00. The actual wait time to see the vet was minimal. The bill was totally reasonable and less than we expected. The charges for the exam and the same tests were slightly cheaper than at the other vet's office. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a follow-up phone call the next morning to see how the cat was doing, something the other vet didn't do. In short, we highly recommend WVC and will definitely use them again. read more

My cat had a blood clot in her leg due to a heart condition we were not aware of. Because my cat has (and has always had) slightly different sized pupils I was told we should watch for rabies! Now this cat has NEVER even gotten close to being outside nor do we have any animals that go out and there is no way she contracted rabies. Also she had 0 signs. I was not told how serious the heart condition was and just given a prescription for blood thinners and some pain meds. A few days later I was back because she was refusing to eat, was told it was a reaction to the blood thinner and given anti diarrhea meds. The following night she had a blood clot go to her rear legs and was in horrible pain, we had to drive an hour at midnight to the closest er and have her put to sleep because there was no way to save her from this clot. I called to cancel the follow up appointment I had made for her and was shortly called back and coldly told to dig her up and bring her for rabies testing!! This was a cat who was very loved and my husband , my children and myself are distraught. How do you tell someone to dig up their pet with no good cause! Also if you truly thought a cat had rabies why would you let it go home to a house with small children when law states that it must be held in quarantine if rabies was suspected! I will be driving a little extra distance to go elsewhere in the future. read more

This will take your money and not help your pet. My brother and sister-law took there almost three weeks and a least twice in one week. Final on the third week they told them they cannot do anything any more for the dog. The dog was not eat and drinking very little water. They final sent them to a place in Clark- Summit. It was to late to do anything for the dog we had to buy her to sleep. I think this place should have the dog to Clark-Sommit ahead time. I've been using Wallenpaupack vet clinic for about 6 years for my 2 Aussies. The front desk staff is always very courteous and accommodating as are the technicians. The doctors are very thorough and my babies are happy and healthy. I've never felt that anyone there has tried to push unnecessary testing, treatment, or medications. If you bring a sick pet to the doctor, you would have to be crazy to think that diagnostics aren't needed to accurately diagnose their medical condition. If your pet is healthy and the doctor recommends preventative care such as vaccines specific to your pets living situation, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, etc. they are simply doing their job. That is called practicing good medicine! I think Wallenpaupack Vets and staff do a wonderful job and I am very satisfied and confident with the caliber of care my babies receive. Live 15 minutes from there but will travel to my animals regular veterinarian in Ny. Any dealing I have had with them has been cold and unfriendly(staff and Dr's). I called with an emergency with my dog . I was told the Dr's leave at 2:30 pm( I spoke with them at 1130 am) and with what I described what was wrong with my dog they felt she would need extensive care that they were unable to provide since the Dr's would not stay after 2:30. I was also told that If the Dr's were willing to stay there would be no one overnight to watch her if she was required care.The staff and Dr's are condesending and very impersonable, something that my animals regular vet are not, they go above and beyond to care for their patients.I suggest that the Dr's and staff of Wallenpaupack Veterinary clinic find other jobs because they do not have the compassion nor dedication to treat animals. read more
