I wanted to buy a limited-edition publication and I did a web search for sellers. Harper's Books was one of the very few booksellers with a copy, and their price was also the most reasonable (admittedly that was probably because the few other sellers had signed copies). I e-mailed the bookstore and received a response within literally about a minute. There were several e-mails back-and-forth re: certain details - and Chris (the co-director) was exceptionally responsive, accommodating & pleasant. The photos alone make the store look lovely and the service was superb!

And if he were, then oh man this would be the coolest place to hang out in east Hampton. But a dick is a dick is a douche. And when you got a dick with a bad vibe running the place, the last thing you want to do is purchase anything from him. Pity. Now if I were the Dick, I'd say to myself, "Dick your talents aren't dealing with clients. Your talents are more academic. Or perhaps you have a good eye. Or are good with money. Stick with what you're good at. And hire some lovely charming fun person to be client facing. And stay in your office Dick. And watch your business grow."

I take away 2 stars for the idiots they allow to deliver their furniture, led by a guy called Jim, who would rather head to the beach on the North Fork than deal with damage done by his drivers. It was a small job, but my only availability is on weekends, which I know are usually busy. I stopped by a few other jewelry stores nearby, but they all told me to come back on Monday because they were too busy. On my way home, I decided to give Southampton Jewelry Exchange a try. Even though the store was busy, everyone was incredibly friendly, and they added the links in just a few minutes completely for free. While I was there, I also left my wedding ring to be resized since it had been feeling a little loose and had been bothering me for a while. This is definitely going to be my go-to spot whenever I need jewelry or watch work done in the future.
