Why are they charging nearly $5,000 per so-called semester for meals; when these students can at least microwave food to eat and survive, why is Whitman causing more debt for students? I can get a MBA for much less, what's with their financial aid package and the cost to attend this college is through the roof. What are they hiding and how are they, as a college, earning their profit, because it is first and foremost a business.

These one-on-one interactions help students really discover who they are and can serve as excellent preparation for graduate school. I've even met some underclassmen doing graduate-level research with their professors (thanks to them being able to explore their passions and learn of openings in their preferred fields of study). They're innovating the curriculum to enable students to combine disparate interests into cohesive passions, so there's something for everyone. They're also building amazing dorms that I wish I had a chance to live in when I when to Whitman. Great places to live, learn, interact, and collaborate. They truly care about creating a place that's conducive to excellent quality of life. A great place to spend your formative years as an academic and as a person.

A library is a place for book lovers but here u can come for music, arts, kids time or even to rent a movie. It has different events on differnet days. I'm so happy to have this library downtown…read more I used to stop by when I needed a change of scenery after a couple hours working from a coffee shop and didn't want to purchase anything else. Their wifi never quite worked for my work laptop but I can use the hotspot data from my phone so it was never an issue for me. My work laptop stays home these days but we still stop by to use their printer (first three pages are free). I recently decided to stop using their computers to pull up the pages (to save time) and found that sending the pages from my phone (using the instructions from their website) works well for most things. We have also been enjoying their evening story time series. Many events for children are during my work hours so I'm glad there's at least one at 6pm. Thirty minutes is perfect for the reading and singing part in the meeting room. Some people also arrive at the library early and/or stay for a bit after if they'd like to chat or explore the library toys. They also have events for teens and adults but I haven't explored those yet.

Their online renewal system works great, and they've been very helpful with knocking down late fees when you need it (often through donating canned goods to wipe the slate clean)! I imagine that it would be helpful if you have a disability that makes going inside difficult, or are in a hurry and just want to pick up and return items quickly. I was disappointed though, that this library is so small inside. Although there is a regular library inside, there are basically three parts -- one area with about 10 computers for public use, one area for small kids (preschool-early elementary age) and then a small selection of books. It would be nice if they had tables that could be used for working or a study area for older children, teens, and college students. Still, it's a convenience that they added this West Pasco location. The inside is very nice and new, and even though it is not large there are a few chairs placed so that you can sit and read. Free wifi as well. I guess you can't have everything!

A good place to read magazines, research local history (a good archive, staffed by a knowledgable volunteer is also on the second floor) or escape the summer heat. Free wireless access. Avoid the cranky, garrolous librarian; thank the dedicated volunteers who appear, at any rate, to do the bulk of the work that keeps this fine institution running.

There are many online options, and a drive they experience to enjoy. The most favorite features we enjoy are: grab bags, self check out, and pre-checkout for items requested. Did you know if the library does not have the book, you can request them to buy it. And, you will be the first one to read it! It's such an economical approach to media and different resources. This library system is definitely equipped to share the joy of reading!
