What the heck is a gas station doing selling gyros? Obviously we needed to try it, or at the very least look at it. Upon entering the store and looking to the left, there's an entire section for Russian food. We were befuddled, as there's no signage advertising eastern European groceries outside at all. What's more, the entire wall is eastern European food. Seems like an oversight not to advertise, so I felt I had to post. There's freezers full of pierogies, ice creams, cakes, sausages, caviar, and more. There's entire food stands full of Russian chocolates, tea cookies, and desserts. On top of that, they have made to order gyros and Philly cheese steaks. Got the gyro with fries for $6.49 and was astounded by how good it was. The pita was nice and soft, and the meat was plentiful and seasoned well. The veggies and sauce weren't my favorite, but I can overlook those. Turns out the owner of this place also owns the gyro shop in The Food Court on 42nd St, and they know what they are doing. I'll be coming back, but may bring my own homemade sauce. You definitely need to check this place out. Plus, think how hilarious it will be to tell someone you are taking them out to gyros, only to pull up to a gas station.

You may ask then why the low rating score?... Well, If you're into paying 200% and upwards over msrp for a bottle of liquor, then this is the place for you. I am not sure how this place survives with competing grocers and other well established sprit shops within 15-20 minutes of each other that carry the same brands. In some instances you may have to enter a raffle for the Wellers, Pappy's etc. But you would never pay 200% over msrp, which let's be honest - this is probably the worst price gouging in the state! Before someone states "that's business 101" I understand that they are in business to make a buck! But charging over $300 for a $35-50 bottle of bourbon?
