I've been going to Walgreens on Speedway and Anderson 14 years. It has consistently gone down the drain! How can they be back order on something as common as Amoxicilin? I can NEVER get anyone at this pharmacy to pick up my phone call. They go through employees before they even become familiar. Everything is locked up. The store is dangerous. People will come in, put items n their suitcases and just walk out the store. All while I'm waiting in line to pay for my items! I went into this godforsaken store on Christmas Eve. I had just gotten the final cheek from my dad's estate after his death. I went to the Walgreens website and asked if they and this particular store cash checks. The website said yes on both accounts. The cashier said that if I made a purchase, he could cash the check. So I was going to buy $27 worth of products. The check you be cashed was for over $345. The cashier said he needed to get the manager after he rang up the $27 worth of product. I asked him what was wrong, he replied "nothing the check cleared. But the register would mot allow him to hive me the change. It got really gun from there when the most inept ( or headlining a scamming operation) got there and told me that the only thing that could be done was to purchase another $300+ worth of merchandise. LIE #1 When I told her that i wanted the change, she told me " there is no way you are going to get your money ". She said and did Void the transaction. HOWEVER, the check had stamped front and back for $27. She reassured me that with the voided receipt, I could cash the check elsewhere . LIE # 2 To make a long story short. After i was informed that the check was un-cashable, and i was not only out my $300+, I didn't even get the $27. I went into the store pissed and she treated me line I gad no right to be mad at her. I stormed out of f the store. The general manager of that store replied to my complaint saying she was sorry for the incident, but they do mot cash third party checks. I responded by informing her that they should take down from the Walgreens website that they do, and tell her employees that they don't cash checks. I told her i wanted my check cashed and that manager fired because it was 100% your stores fault. After that district informed me that they had my complaint and would get a hod if me within 2 business days. It has now been 3 business days and in spite if the fact that i have emailed and tried to No avail, I went to chat and the agent said she couldn't help me and I needed to get a hold of the very people who are not responding to my requests after they promised me they would. ANOTHER LIE FROM THE DISTRICT LEVEL. This is looking a lot like a company based scam they are pulling on their customers from a corporate level. Worst pharmacy ever. I waited 4 hours for my prescription to be filled and called every hour to check with the automatic voicemail to see if it was ready. I tried calling the store to talk to a live agent and I was on hold for 43 minutes until they picked up and hung up right away. I called corporate to see if they could tell me when my prescription would be ready and they tried reaching the store with no avail as well. Went there, there was no line, and turns out it had been done for a bit and no one notified me. Horrendous customer service. read more

I chose this Walgreens because I was being released from the hospital and TMC wanted to make sure my pain medicine was ready to dispense before cutting me lose. Walgreens at Grant and Swan told them it was ready and to come in. I then called my ride to pick me up at TMC and drove off toWalgreens. It's a 30 minute drive from home to TMC , another ten to load me in and get to Walgreens. The Rx wasn't ready. Wasn't ready another 45 minutes later. We walked out and are going to transfer the Rx to our local Osco. Walgreens was my only shot at getting the pain med while I had someone to drive my car. At least I can get free pickup at Osco. In all fairness it was thanksgiving and Walgreens was one of three pharmacies open that day. Lying to TMC and saying an Rx was ready for pickup I unforgivable. read more

This is the slowest, least customer service friendly Walgreens I've had the displeasure of visiting. Unfortunately, it's my "neighborhood" WAG- going forward though- I am vowing to stop patronizing this location for a multitude of reasons: 1. Customer service at the pharmacy is exceptionally unhelpful, almost to the point where sometimes it feels like they go out of their way to make refills or simple tasks complicated. 2. The line outside for Rx pick up, well I've been in it for 30 minutes and there are still 2 cars ahead of me. My total time at the drive through service window was 42 minutes!!! 3. The issue that I had with my Rx was rectified at another location with one phone call there. Go to Alvernon and 22nd where they're fast and customer focused. I may literally be dead before I get my hands on my prescription but if you're reading this, don't say I didn't warn you. read more

My Covid booster appointment was at 11:00am - it's 12:45pm and I am still waiting , this place is a joke

It took Walgreens pharmacy staff over 2 hours to let me know that they could not do a COVID test for me through my insurance. No one ever told me how much it was without insurance. Told me to go to CVC Minute clinic. Went in for my appointment was told to come back in 30 minutes-went back told me to come back again. Went back after an hour that is what I was told. I quess it was for the best my previous test there swab was already in tube-which I have never seen swab comes in sterile wrapper. read more

One of the ladies working at the pharmacy was extremely rude and mean to both me and multiple people there. Bascially called me stupid because I couldn't figure out where to get the insurance information she claimed I needed to have but I have never had any problems with my insurance at any other Walgreens. I was very nice to here and waiting for my prescription for 40 minutes when they said it would be ready and she stormed off after I asked when it would be ready. Don't bother filling your prescription here just because it's open 24 hours. My scrip was called in at 5pm yesterday and I was notified it was ready around 7:30am today. Plus they never answered the phone after about 9pm. I'm not sure what's going on here at my pharmacy. But I have been using this Walgreens pharmacy for over five years regularly and I have been very pleased with their service up until about a year and a half ago. Personally, I have the impression that they are understaffed, overworked and possibly undertrained. Now to make matters worse, they are no longer one of Tucson's only 24 hour pharmacies. A status of which I'm sure increased their patient load. But now has left them, over booked and understaffed. However it appears that problem is being corrected by the many who are switching pharmacies. The problem here I'm afraid lies in mngmt, and overall greed! If an employee is paid what their worth, most often they will bend over backwards to help! But place an employee in a position they're untrained for. And then let one mad patient after another lay into them! Sooner or later the show is going to hit the road! And with the huge turnover of employees this Walgreens has, I reckon the problem lies within. Hopefully mngmt stops blaming and changing employees. And seeks a solution to the root of the problem. read more

Echo the comments of others. Not all Walgreen's are the same. Apparently making an online appointment for a vaccine simply gives you a place in line. The time of the appointment is meaningless. This is their explanation for being slow and unorganized. Whether there for a vaccine or prescription, there's a wait. Centrally located and convenient, I like this particular Walgreens the best. It is one of the more modern, updated stores they have. Well organized and clean. Most importantly, I don't feel like I am going to get mugged or accosted by people hanging around outside like most in this town & the pharmacist is actually helpful and friendly! Very contrary to my experience at most Walgreens ( the one at speedway & craycroft is another one with really great pharmacy staff )... If I can't find something elsewhere in town while shopping, I can pretty much depend on them having it. Drive thru is a bit of a longer wait than I care for but during those hot summer days I don't mind much as I can stay nice and cool in my car, listening to the radio while I wait. read more

Gave 1 star, should be -10! We have been customers of this pharmacy for over 57 years! Staff used to be friendly and competent! Today I had to wait and wait and wait - only had 1 rx to pick up. One tech waiting on new customer, (filling out paperwork) rest of staff ignored anyone else waiting. Manager thinks it is more important to "follow procedures" than to wait on its customers! This pharmacy has gone down hill so bad, we are looking for another pharmacy, mostly because of rude service, mishandling of prescriptions and constantly changing staff. Wake up Walgreens!!! PHARMACY: please pull you head out of your backsides, learn organization and learn courtesy! My mother continually has issues with her prescriptions that she gets on a monthly basis not being ordered, or being told they are ready when they aren't, or being told the medications aren't there when they have been special ordered. There were 2 staff so I knocked at the window and was yelled at by the pharmacist Mo, "can't you see I'm on the phone"? The pharmacy assistant was behind him who then came to the pickup window. Made a quick stop to buy some makeup for myself, and I'm outraged to say there was never a moment when someone wasn't watching us. I work at another Walgreens store, so I know how big a problem shoplifting is at convenience stores like this one, but this was too much. The manager even went so far as to follow me and my sister to my car and watched to see if we pulled anything out when "we thought no one was watching us." Initial Call to Walgreens was at 10:18 PM to refill Victoza (90 day supply). I was on hold for 2 hours 14 minutes. Second call at 1:24 AM, spoke to Gina, explained the situation and that I still needed to reach the pharmacy. She said, she would put me on hold and page the pharmacist to pickup. He did in lesss than 2 minutes. The pharmacist on duty refused to give me his name. I asked approximately 3 times. I then asked, if he was refusing to give me his name and he said to me (2-3 times), "You can call me Doctor." I told The Doctor, how long I was on hold and he angrily told me he didn't put anyone on hold. "I was at the register all night dealing with customers." Personally, I was afraid of pursuing the matter, lest he refuse me my prescription. After taking the prescription information, The Doctor, went on to berate me about getting the Walgreens app. "You need to get the app." He said I should get a smart phone. I told him I have one and his response was, "Any blind person can use a smart phone." During the whole interaction this Doctor was extremely rude and antagonistic towards me. Walgreens, you are the same corporate pharmacy, along with a PCP that screwed up my insulin prescriptions, in 2014-2015. The result: was a trip to urgent care and then the ER, I suffered a mini stroke (TIA), and blood sugars greater than 500 over an extents period of time. My memory and cognitive abilities suffered during that time and I believe I still struggle because of the TIA. But, I believe the culprit was this same "Mr. DOCTOR", located at a different Walgreens. I would go to the pharmacist explaining I kept running out of insulin. He insisted, nothing had changed in my prescription over time and I, the patient, was doing something wrong. "No, Walgreens and the PCP were not on the same page." That pharmacist, was usually distressed, angry, and rude to me and others. My third call was at 1:31 AM, to speak with a store manager to make a complaint. Again, Gina responded and said she was the manager for the night. She was very polite, caring and represented Walgreens professionally. She gave me the pharmacist first name, Curtis. Gina, agreed to speak with him and leave a message for the day manager to call me. Curtis, on the other hand, a Walgreens medical professional, showed nothing but Insolence and Disrespect towards me from the first word out of his mouth. This is the only Walgreen's in town where you can rent medical equipment. Why on earth, do they not have more of these locations. It is a totally fancy pants Walgreens, making all the other Walgreens sad. It's a drug store, medical supply shop, wellness clinic and a mini market. This is a great place if you need to rent a hospital grade breast pump. I selected the Medela Symphony- which I feel should be given to every new mother. Why BCBS won't pony up the money infuriates me, but I digress. It is truly the Bentley of pumps complete with it's $2,225 price tag. At Walgreens, you pay around $70 a month. They will call you multiple times to remind you to renew or turn in your pump. They are always very patient and there is a grace period for your renewal. They even have the pump parts kit, which is convenient to pick up. This Walgreens saved our breastfeeding journey. read more

I feel bad writing this review but after reading the others I think I'll take a whack at it. I came in yesterday and my vaccine appointment was at 7 and the front desk lady kept saying just 20 more minutes when in reality I didn't get my vaccine until 9 pm. After a long day of work I just wanted to get it over with so I could go home and make dinner and just sleep. I understand that they are busy all the time, but honestly they should consider hiring more workers because myself and a bunch of other people waited in line for at least 20 minutes just to get to the front desk. I've been to several doctors offices and never have I waited two hours for a service. The pharmacist also got in a fight with a customer and the whole store could hear it, I understood his frustration because the person was being completely rude, but at the same time that is totally unprofessional and as a young girl it scared me. read more

Wow, this is the SLOWEST Walgreens I've ever been to. Ever. I went in to Walgreens in the middle of the night to get a prescription filled and the pharmacy staff is SO SLOW. Like molasses or sloths. I waited in line behind a man who was waiting to get a prescription. He waited about 30 minutes as the pharmacist assured him once again that it would "take a minute." Not. The man was frustrated and I was frustrated just watching him wait. And this was before I even got to the counter. I waited about 20-30 minutes for the pharmacy tech to enter my insurance information into the computer. It was far too complicated and technical and he kept trying and re-trying to enter the information. Fail. If it's daylight, I will only return to the efficient and friendly Walgreens on Swan and Sunrise. They know what they're doing, unlike this Walgreens. read more

I have to get Walgreens a 5 because this location really saved me on New Year's. It was the worst New Year's ever for me, because I spent it with a staph infection. And being New Years eve and day, I had no idea they would be open. I saw my doctor on the 31st and he had to cut- and the pills I needed were available only at this nearby 24-hour Walgreens. It never closed, ever! So I spent my evening inside the warmth of the building, already battling a bad cold, and in enormous pain from my staph infection. Walgreens filled the drugs for me, and while I was there, I was able to get food (with a huge selection of sandwiches and even sushi.. sushi?). This is a Walgreens on steroids (although I'm sure they would deny it!) there is a machine you can check on the progress of your prescriptions with, and all kinds of gadgets, medical devices, and foods and drinks and booze. This is the Walgreens of the future, and I like it. I went both days, and considering how bad my mood was- being sick and having a bad infection on my hand, Walgreens actually lifted my spirits.
