If you can go to any other Pharmacy on the planet please do that . This Pharmacy is completely incompetent . On three different times I have called for a refill they told me they had it to come pick it up I did do that after work . Then when I got there they didn't even have my medication in stock and did not bother to call me and let me wait all day drive there wait in line to tell me this . Even before I vacation they did this to me to where I could not have my medication to take him with me . Do not expect any type of customer service . Do not expect anyone to be in any hurry . I have had repeated negative experiences with Walgreens pharmacy. Staff often seems untrained, disorganized and dismissive. On multiple occasions I have been told my prescription was "already picked up" when I had not, forcing me to argue for something that should have been considered straight forward. The burden of proof is placed on the patient to prove Walgreens own errors. Phone calls go unanswered or left on hold for 30 plus minutes, only to be told to come in person. When I go in person, I am met with more confusion and shifting explanations, none resolve quickly. This is not just inconvenient, it is negligent when dealing with essential medication. Pharmacies have one job providing safe, timely and accurate access to prescriptions. At this point I have zero trust in their system or staff and will be transferring all prescriptions of myself and family members to CVS. This store is not amazing, they have a drive through, people. Convenience cannot replace incompetence! I would rather drive, walk, than risk my health or the health of my family members. read more

I am rating this, Walgreens pharmacy On Jefferson and Garden River Ridge, very high, and I'll tell you why. The whole staff has always been friendly to me. Considering how many people they are serving a day, It cant be easy! I've never had any issues. Today, I was in desperate need of some medication for my son, who has seizures. A pharmacist name Emily, went above, and beyond, to help me, because she knew I was in quite a State of panic. She calmed me down and assured me that she would take care of the script, and she did. I appreciate this so very much. I have two special-needs kids and the pharmacists deserve more credit than they get! I'm a professional Face Painter here in New Orleans and the surrounding areas and I work with kids all the time. There's nothing more important than our kids and I will definitely trust this Walgreens, to take care of my medication needs for my sons. Thank you so very much. There is no standard of care or concern at this pharmacy. We had a minor issue with prescription that could have been easily dealt with over the phone. When you call the pharmacy you are placed on a perpetual hold with always one caller ahead of you. So we tested a theory, my guest is someone at the pharmacy uses the landline phone to place call or have call come through to the pharmacy. Then the pharmacy continuous keeps this call connected holding the phone to their ear and then placing the call on hold. We have two phone my spouse called and was then placed on hold with one calling ahead of him. Then I placed a call making me caller two. After 20 mins my spouses call then did not indicate what place he was in, and then I got the message that there was one caller ahead of me. We had to leave our house and drive over to the pharmacy at 8pm October 23, 2025. What I saw is the pharmacist on the phone not talking to anyone. Then puts the phone down and you can hear the phones ringing in the background. We talked to the pharmacist but she was no help. I would recommend shutting down this pharmacy until the pharmacist's running it can provide a proper standard of care. read more

I have used them for many years! Recently they text my prescriptions at ready and When I get there they can't find them. One instance there were 7 people behind the counter and the manager also went into the back to help sort bags from a stack of bins. They had so many containers of prescriptions that had not been unpacked and checked in. They sent me to another Walgreens over 5 miles away and I had to stand in another line of 5+ people. Another occasion I went to pick up prescription I was texted was ready and they only had one pill. The pharmacist Rhine promised she would fill herself. I went back to pick up and they couldn't find them. No record in system they had been filled. I gave them three chances to fix issue!!! Now I have moved to another pharmacy and when they call to transfer pills the phone either just rings or they are put on hold and then it hand up. I have the new place calling my doctor for my meds. This store is so poorly run and so disorganized. It is not the counter workers. They have tried time and again to help me but it all goes back to a disconnect in their process and the pharmacist. The pharmacy tried to get me more than once to stay. The pharmacist and I had two long conversations about their service. I believe she is in over her head. The lines are long because not only are they disorganized but they till tell you it is because they closed another Walgreens near by. The problems started before that. Easy excuse not to fix issues. I gave them three chances and tried to talk to them about the frustrations of the many people in line. At one point o apologized to the 5-6 people on line for holding things up and they were ok because someone was telling them just how bad the service El has become!!' The pharmacy is amazing,but the store it's self needs some attention! I recently bought some items online on your website for my husband to pick up.He is new to it and ran across the manager kaleb who was so rude even rolling his eyes at him..Telling him he can't remember numbers or something to that affect.Now my husband is one of the nicest people i know so he didn't say anything,but I promise if that was me the outcome would have been different.As we both work in retail there was no excuse for his behavior,no one was being rude to him .He clearly is not manager material!As the cashier was having a little trouble,he did nothing the girl from photoshop came and helped her.I have been doing business with this store for over 9 years,but I promise I will transfer my prescriptions and not step foot there if your management can't refrain from being the rude employee... read more

After an emergency visit to our veterinarian, after hours, on Friday January 19th, our vet called the pharmacy at 9705 Jefferson Highway to request an prescription for our dog who was in excruciating pain. He ordered 60 300 mg pills of Gabapentin for our 50 lbs dog. Hearing the conversation on speaker phone, I knew exactly who the pharmacist was on the phone. I have had interactions with her over filling a prescription previously. I literally heard her question a LICENSED VETERINARIAN saying that she was questioning the prescription on a Friday night????? My vet was completely floored and asked what did it matter that it was a Friday night...she insinuated that we were trying to get the 300 mg pills on a Friday night for reasons other than to alleviate the horrible pain that my one year old dog was suffering with. I was COMPLETELY embarrassed with the encounter. Our vet gave her his license number and was in fact calling from the vet office (which is down the street from from the pharmacy). She proceeded to again question the prescription and our vet to which our vet told her that he would give her the data and journal articles which would back up his request for the medicine. She refused to fill the entire prescription and would only give us half saying that she would contact our vet on Monday to fill the other half of the prescription. Again...I was extremely embarrassed that our vet...AFTER HOURS...was having to deal with this. As a point of reference, "Dosage for nerve pain... The usual dose to treat nerve pain in adults is 900mg to 3,600mg a day, split into 3 doses." The prescription was for 300 mg...much lower than was the dosage is for humans. For her to question a doctor is inexcusable and uncalled for. I have been a loyal customer of Walgreens for over 15 years. Not only of the pharmacy but weekly trips for other times in the store. I have heard MANY complaints lately of the pharmacy but I originally decided to stay because the other staff members have always been so nice After seeing how Reine has treated other clients (I previously witnessed her rudeness to an elderly couple one day), myself, and my veterinarian, I am pulling EVERY prescription and will no longer step foot in the 9705 Jefferson Highway Store or any Walgreens again. I am also going to share my experience with others in the community because there seems to be a general consensus that there are issues in the management of the pharmacy. It's a brand new Walgreens, just moved down the street a couple of blocks from the old location. The staff appears to have moved with it. The old store was cramped and dated. The new store has that modern airy feeling (very high ceilings) with lots of windows to let in the natural light. Basically the new layout Walgreens use for the stand alone corner store. An old Blockbusters and Pizza Hut were torn down to make room for the store. Did improve the real estate. In the past, they usually had what I needed. The couple of visits I've made since they moved, I left with what I came for. The big reason for stopping at Walgreens is their photo service. I prefer to edit my photos at home, upload them to the Walgreens website and then print them at the local Walgreens. Most of the time I use the no rush option, but have taken advantage of the 1 hour service when its needed. read more

Most horrible customer service I have EVER received. The manager was extremely unapologetic for events that took place under his management. I went to this Walgreens to print some pictures. One kiosk was broken, the other taken. I tried to get the other kiosk to work to no avail. So I walked around the store for a while and came back. The same lady was on the same kiosk looking at the exact same picture she was looking at when I got there 15 minutes prior. I found an employee to see if they could fix the kiosk. They were also unsuccessful. So I decided to stay and wait for the first lady to finish. About 15 minutes of me waiting in line, at least 30 minutes after first getting there, people were coming up behind me asking if I was in line. Keep in mind she is still staring at the same picture. So I asked the lady if she had much more to do, to which she responded, "yes, and I'm taking longer on purpose because your breathing down my neck." Then she used a lot of fowl language, including the F word, called me the B word and to told me to go to hell. When the manager on duty asked what the problem was the lady told her, "you can't rush me and I'm going to take longer on purpose." She stop using the kiosk entirely, picked up her phone and started playing on it. After a while the kiosk was asking if this kiosk is still occupied bc she took so long to even touch the screen. I understand you can't control the types of personalities that come in the store. But the thing I couldn't understand is they asked me to leave bc she was upset and to come back when she was finished. Even after she said she was taking longer on on purpose and keep in mind there were people in line behind me at this point. I didn't want to walk around and lose my spot in line. I have 2 small businesses. If I have a disgruntled customer causing a scene and using such language in my store I certainly don't ask other customers to go away. I would ask the one disrespecting my business to leave. I called to complain and the head manager said it was my word against the manager on duty at the time and he didn't think it could've been handled any better. I've never seen such poor customer service and I have never been treated this way. read more

Always makes my orders delayed. If you want your medication, make sure to get it says ahead of time, or you'll be in the same boat I'm in.

The retail staff is most excellent at the River Ridge store and I shopped there often, but I recently tried the pharmacy expecting the same and what a cluster. They sat on my scrip until I got worried and so I called. They said they had it so I drive over only to have the woman say, "Oh, we need to get the doctor's approval to fill this". So why didn't you just do that on day one? Why didn't you call me IMMEDIATELY if there was a problem? And why did you tell me you had it when you didn't? Two days later I get a robo-call saying they contacted the doctor and are waiting. Guess what, Walgreens- #notmypharmacy. read more
