This place is a bad joke, like most businesses in the area. They refused to help me fill my prescription because the even more unprofessional and disorganized CVS pharmacy across the street wrote on my Rx that the prescribing doctor's DEA number had changed and needed to be updated, therefore they wouldn't fill it. Just as a tip, DEA numbers don't change. They stay with the doctor for the duration of their career. When I asked if they could simply look in their computer and try to see if there was an issue in their system as well, they refused to help me and even refused to let me speak to a manager. I was treated like a drug-seeking addict! It is NOT the pharmacists job to judge you based on what medications you are prescribed. I was forced to go to Walmart to get it filled, which I try to avoid at all costs, but there aren't a lot of options in Oakland, MD. The people at Walmart helped me without treating me like a criminal, and could clearly see that CVS had totally screwed me up. They said stuff like this happens all the time with them. Bottom line: Walgreens could have made well over $300 on filling my prescription, and each month subsequently if they didn't have their heads so far up their own butts! I will NEVER patronize them or the CVS across the street again! read more

I would like to rate 0 but Yelp doesn't have that option. I have had six back surgeries and suffer from chronic pain. Walgreen's decided over my Physicians discretion that they don't feel I am in need of pain medication. Given the issue of prescription drug abuse, I am well aware of the need to tighten the distribution of said pharmaceuticals. However, I don't believe the Pharmacist is the one to make this decision. Do they treat diabetics, heart patients or any other person with a chronic ailment this way? I would strongly suggest that anyone considering a pharmacy go anywhere other than Walgreen's and CVS. Try Greg's Pharmacy or Walmart you'll find their reception much warmer. read more

I am rating this one three stars for two reasons #1 they awesome sales and deals and #2 because they have a pretty good rewards program. Having said this the overall customer service us deplorable. I have been followed through the store like I was a shoplifter on more than one occasion, the employees spend more time standing around than actually being of an use or help and a few have a chip on their shoulders I'd love nothing more than to knock off for them. My fiance and I was out for a walk enjoying the first nice night in a while and decided to stop by Walgreens real quick to pick up a pre-paid phone. Upon entering the store we were met with glared from these two yetti looking female employees who were pretty much holding up the center counter and watching the clock. I quickly walked to the phones which was no more than 20-30 steps from where these grumpy ladies stood haughtily awaiting our departure. I asked twice if one of them could get me a pho e as the case requires a key and was ignored. My fiance asked the ladies if he could leave our bags at the counter and was told " we're about to leave we're closing" to which I stated as loudly as. I could without yelling " well closing isn't for another 5 minutes so how about one or both of you "employees" Walt over here and get me this damn phone that I have now asked you to retrieve 3 times, and just for shits and giggles how about replacing those glaring staring dead eyes and that upity pursed lipped sneer with a eyes that twinkle and a damn smile. Or is that too much to ask from an employee of this establishment?" Both women came from behind the counter and one of them finally got me the phone. As I approached the register and both women resumed their place standing sentenal over their clock they were busy watching; the older lady tells me " you know you can't return these phones or the cards once you've purchased them." And I being the sarcastic person I can be when confronted by someone with a nasty attitude I responded with " oh yes ma'am I sure do. I wouldn't dream over EVER trying to return an item that you two ladies worked so diligently and sweetly to retrieve for me. Besides I wouldn't want to make either of you ladies HAVE to do the job for which you are being paid an honest wage to do in a store that you yourselves chose to gain employment at. No ma'am I wouldn't dream of doing that." Both ladies stared at me as if I had just sprouted two extra heads as I gathered my purchases. As I turn to make my departure I looked back over my shoulder and said " I hope you to wonderfully chipper ladies can still have yourselves a great night now that you've caused yourselves to stay a whole extra 3 minutes because you decided to try and bully two paying customers out of a place of business instead of grabbing a phone and ringing it up which would have been done and had us out of here with two minutes to spare...... This is just one more example of why business around Oakland, MD has a hard time keeping their customer base and sales up. It's so much easier for most of these people around here to be lazy, judgemental, arrogant hateful fools. Than it is to smile politely and tell a customer good evening or offer your help or even to say " Have a great day/evening/ night." Maybe it's from too much inbreeding back in the mid 50's and earlier that causes them to be so miserable. Whatever the case I myself will always answer their hateful words and demeanor with sarcastic banter until someday these people either remove the sticks from their rear-ends or learn to seek gainful employment out of the general publics way. :) read more

So conveniently located, I enjoy shopping here. The cashiers are friendly and items are pretty well stocked (unlike the local Walmart with it's empty shelves). It's a good thing when CVS has competition. read more
