This is our favorite Walgreens for our flu and all other shots. We make appointments and the pharmacy staff is always on time. The staff is friendly and helpful and they are so skilled the shots don't hurt. The manager Melissa is always available if we need any further assistance. they are the worst pharmacy i have ever shopped with. i have to check all my prescription before i leave the drive through window, more often than not all my prescriptions are not there or i have prescriptions that are not part of my order. the girl at the drive up windiw always appears half awake or on drups. always an issue with pick up. i go to driveup as i have mobility problems otherwise its easier to go inside or to the metarie road walgreens which is a five star***** wa l greens. i also use to really like the service at the old c",s pharmacy which had excellent service, their replacement had originally kept c's standards, but in the last year and a half, thier service has also deteriorated to the point that i just do not bother. what is it with the metairie pharacies, why are they just a sleep at the wheel. i suggest they are more particular in their hiring requurements,!!! the counters are not stocked, i have checked every day of the week, yet they always say that thew ill be there on delivery day read more

If I could give this store a minus ten I would. They gave me the wrong dose of Ozempic. It was 8x the amount the Dr prescribed, not even an apology. I call every time and ask for Pharmacist before I go pick up anything. I am told what time it will be ready. I there have to wait 15 minutes if I'm lucky. I've also gone back 3 days in a row for a script. When the rx isn't filled correctly they ignore you and only believe the computer. and don't listen to you. It has downhill the last couple of years. I'm done. Been using Amazon pharmacy no problems get it delivered in 2 days. read more

Went to pick up my mom's Covid medication, which the doctor just called in. I arrived at 6:56 but an employee (Shakatlyn) from the pharmacy hurriedly emerged and got in line seconds before I did. She said sternly the line was now closed. She shook her head and openly mocked my pleas to get my mother's medication. My jaw dropped. I said I was on time and she yelled to the pharmacy not to help me. Wow. I never raised my voice yet she threatened to call the police on me! She called me a silly old man and disappeared. It was still 6:58, they could have helped me faster than being rude to me. This place of medicine does not care. How awful is a place that enables unbelievable behavior such as this directly to its customers? read more

The store itself is okay. They run out alot because its a busy store. The pharmacy, dont get me started. Horrible customer service. I have a lot to say, but it's not even worth my time. I started using the walgreens pharmacy on 800 Metairie road. They are much nicer and much better. read more

Overall, this is one of the better Walgreen's in the area. Unlike the ones in the Greater New Orleans metro area, there are no panhandlers vying for your attention or accosting you for money. At least, I have not witnessed any panhandlers, maybe I have come at the right times, or just not been the one being harrassed. The clerks are friendly. The store is neat, clean and well organized. It is right on the parade route for the Metairie Mardi Gras parades, which is probably the reason behind the signs in the parking lot stating the 30 minute time limit, to restrict the parking for customers, and not for the parades. The restrooms are neat and clean, though they are not gender neutral restrooms. read more

I give this pharmacy five stars for a few reasons. 1. I always meet friendly staff. 2. The pharmacists are nice. 3. I recently switched (the last few months) to this location, and their pickup process is much easier and quicker than other locations. I suspect it is because they have adequate staffing. 4. Recently switched meds and the pharmacy called me to see how I was doing on my new medication and to call if I had any questions. WHAT?! ...?? That outreach - a short phone call - earned my loyalty. THANK YOU for that, pharmacy! Your thoughtfulness is not unnoticed or unappreciated. 5. The location is easy to get to on my way to/from work. But mostly #2 & 3 earned the 5 stars. Pharmacy staff here is unhelpful and untruthful. I understand things are not back to normal since Hurricane Ida. However that is not an excuse for the unprofessionalism and misinformation they gave at this location. My sons were due for their 2nd vaccine shot last Friday. I took off work and brought them in, only to be told they weren't doing vaccines and to come back the following week. I went in the following Monday and spoke to them again and asked if I needed a new appointment. I was told we just needed to walk in by 7pm. Once again I took off work and brought them back in at 6pm that Thursday. Only this time I was told vaccines are only done 10-3. I asked if another Walgreens was doing any. They said they didn't know. I asked if they could check. They said I'd have to drive to them to find out. I have always despised this Walgreens but kept shopping there because they are 3 blocks from my house. This experience is the last straw. I will never shop at this location again! read more

The staff at the pharmacy was very helpful. I was able to call and speak to a real person! to confirm that they had the meningitis vaccine my daughter needed to move into her college dorm. The staff then had to try 4 times to run my insurance to pay for the vaccination and they didn't give up, which saved me the trouble of filing a claim with my insurance. It took us much less time to come to this Walgreens instead of a doctor for the immunization. read more

Clean and overall nice store. I noticed that they have Apple Pay installed and that is convenient. Checking out was a bit slow and there were panhandlers in the store. Nothing that made me feel unsafe, just annoying. There was some confusion about who's lunch break is coming up and so checkout was slow to check out attendants talked quite a bit. I'll be back hopefully can add another store was a better experience. read more

If you are trying to fill any type of narcotic medication just be aware that any of the "professionals" will have to "check to make sure they have it". Every. Single. Time. This used to be my go to pharmacy because of the drive thru....but after many condescending and unnecessary comments I took a few months of prescriptions to rite aid....which was just fine....just no drive thru. So, I decided last month to give Walgreen's another try, and low and behold-they had to see if they had it lol.....they didn't....not for a few days anyway. I get that maybe a few crack heads ruined the pharmacy technicians day or something, but I'm not a crack head...and I shouldn't be treated like one ever time I have to fill a script!! read more

Always clean and well stocked. Only downside is that they close at 10. Recently added liquor to their selection. There is also a drive-thru pharmacy and Redbox (outside - Veterans side) at this location. read more

This Walgreens is in a great location off Veteran's and is very clean. The downside is that they're always understsffed. No one mans the Photo area so you normally have to wait for someone to finish with a line of customers or wait for someone to come from the back. Pharmacy is not as bad but expect to wait in line to check out. read more

Terribly unprofessional pharmacist (and staff) working on Friday, May 31 around 1PM. Asked me to wait one hour to refill a prescription only to be told when I picked it up few hours later that the pharmacist won't fill the same prescription I have taken and filled monthly for years (including at both Walgreens and CVS within and outside the State of Louisiana) because her discretion (not federal or state law) deemed it not to be "urgent" since my prescription came from an urgent care clinic. I use(d) the urgent care clinic because I am from out of town and travel here frequently for work! How is a prescription that I have taken every day for years not "urgent"? She also had my number and "forgot" to call to inform me and gave me a sarcastic "sorry". In addition, they also have electronic records that demonstrate that I do and have in fact filled the same prescription at Walgreens for years! By far, the worst pharmacy experience of my life. After I left, I got the prescription filled at CVS down the street in 20 minutes! I guess the discretion of this Walgreens pharmacist superseded that of the doctor that prescribed the medicine and all other pharmacists in Louisiana with whom I have relied upon to fill my prescription.
