The pharmacist Jay, who is usually at this location is wonderful. However when I went it today to receive my flu shot the service in the pharmacy was AWFUL. The pharmacy techs are great. The pharmacist ANN was unfortunately on duty and filling in today. The most rude and nastiest professional I've ever met. Let me scratch that, not a professional just because her badge says so. Firstly she made me wait for twenty five mins, with no other customers present. She then calls out my name, pronounced wrong, to meet her at the side door. Never looked in my direction. I had to ask the tech where she went. She didn't practice universal or standard precautions. I've worked in healthcare for over twenty years so when someone attempts to give you a shot WITHOUT taking the time to wash their hands this a huge red flag for me. She opened the door for me with gloves already donned. Proceeded to finish paper work with a bandaid already on this dirty glove, touching the clipboard and everything else and asked me to roll up my sleeve. I told her that she needed to change her dirty gloves before she touched me. Instead of abiding by the customer's wishes ANN, the pharmacist said she'd only change them because I asked her, but told me they were to protect her from me. Bull! Possessing a degree in advance practice medicine, anesthesia to be exact, I have NEVER seen a health professional attempt to penetrate a patient's skin with dirty gloves. The spread of MRSA and other infections come from careless, lazy practices such as this. Instead of apologizing and moving on, she proceeded to argue with me. Of course I refused anything from this woman with the dirty hands and gloves. I spoke with the manager of the store before leaving. Tim was extremely empathetic and kind to listen to my complaint. I also put a report and complaint in with Walgreens grievance department and am awaiting follow up from the district manager. I am writing a review of this pharmacist Ann, who unfortunately travels around and fills in at other Walgreen locations, so that the public can be weary and pay attention to someone perpetrating as a professional, whom may be risking their health with poor practice. Our hands carry enough bacteria to kill someone. We all hear about healthcare errors and infections getting out of hand, with resistance to antibiotics. Speak up for yourselves! read more
