On Thursday March 12th 2026 after…read morefilling up my car I dropped my wallet at your station at - 798 OH-28, Milford, OH 45150.  I wrote this and sent to Thortons customer service. I did not know where I lost my wallet until your employee left me a Facebook message asking if I lost something at the Thortons gas station.  Unfortunately I did not see this message until Sunday.  I called Thorntons but they told me the employee doesn't come in till noon Monday 16th 2026. I went to the station at 12:30 and spoke to the employee. Then employee immediately got sad and apologized to me. The employee said they did not work the weekend and told me that the draw where they kept all the left and lost items was thrown away on the weekend.  I was astonished since my wallet had my driver's license, credit card and $70.  I thanked the employee since they took the time to notify me. Employee told me a customer found it and turned it in with all the money and items in the wallet. I asked if I could look in the garbage to see if I could find it. I was told they did not know when the garbage gets picked up. The manager would know. They got the manager to talk to me. I asked when they pick up the garbage. He said they come several times a week. I asked why would you thrown out items. He said in a week all the items would over flow the draw.  I said even wallets. He said yes. I asked him if I could look for my wallet. He pointed to the dumpsters and gave me permission.  I looked at both dumpsters, one just had new boxes in it the other was empty.  A policy of throwing out wallets with drivers licenses in them is wrong and unacceptable.  Employee said they were trying to do the right thing for me and even saw I was a vet on my driver's license.  Most stores at least take the wallet with a driver's license to the police station. To have a policy to throw out wallets after two days is wrong. I want someone from your corporate office to call me to understand this policy and change your process so this does not happen to another customer.   It's rare to have a stranger turn in wallet intact to a store employee. Then the employee contacts the customer, only to have a policy preventing the item being returned to the owner because it is thrown out. Two outstanding deeds erased by one bad action. Thortons told me that there was nothing they could do. I was astonished, confused and disappointed!!!

The hardest part is trying to get back to the highway. Prices here we're pretty fair as well. Modest restrooms, decent, friendly service as well. The pumps are frequently not in working order, and today I had the person who is running the register come out and tell me that I had to come in to pay after my credit card was already charged. He made a mistake and tried to put money for a different customer on that pump, so he cut off the pump, then ran out and told me that I had to come in to pay. It was irritating enough that I had to explain the technology to him, but I really don't appreciate being asked to "take it down to a two" when I was trying to get him to listen to me that my card was already charged. He finally looked it up, and I was correct, but the whole situation was very frustrating.

Some of my earliest childhood memories are of me and my siblings walking here to buy cowtails, bubble gum, and Arizona tea. Truly the good ole days. Now me and my sister have upgraded to driving here to get gas, duo mints, and energy drinks for her. This place will always have a special place in my heart, mind, and soul. You can tell the employees are much more sophisticated than your average gas station employee. They make me feel like family every time I'm there, and I will never stop calling this place home.

The attendant arranged to get the car jumped, gave my fiancee a hug, and told her to have a great day. Fantastic stuff! The station itself is very clean and has a mini-mart, a Subway, and a Dunkin' Donuts. Quite convenient.
