This pharmacy is the best pharmacy in the Kankakee county ! Staff is incredibly friendly and help me with any problem I have ! They're so fast and tell me my prescription will be ready at one time and it actually gets done sooner !!! They all deserve a raise for how amazing they are read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would! The pharmacy employees have no compassion for people and are rude. They don't know how to do their job. Their employees in the pharmacy will tell you one thing about your prescription and tell you it will be ready for pick up with no issues. Then when you go back to pick it up it's not filled because of an "issue" even though they stated everything was fine. The amount of times I've had to come up here to leave without my babies medication is unreal. He has important medications and they have no care whether or not they get filled. I have no choice but to use this pharmacy since they are the only ones who compound in this area and because they are the ones who have my pre authorizations from my babies Dr. I HATE it here!!!!!! I have a court case and did photos some were xxx rated my lawyer needs them.. they printed them and wouldnt give me them. Why didnt they destroy them then. Instead now they are on the shelf for people to see i dont think thats right.. now that i think about it i should have called the police on the spot and insisted they be detroyed then. I just wanted to share my experience at a local Walgreens in Kankakee, IL on Kennedy Drive. I have been sick with Mastitis, running a fever, and at 4 pm today (8/23/15) my OB/GYN called in a prescription for me. We went through the drive thru around 5:30pm. The technician informed us that the prescription was not ready, and that it would not be ready for another hour to hour and a half. We live 20 mins away, so it's not like this place is right down the street for us. I assumed an hour and half would be enough time for them to fill it. We had to make a special trip out, sick as I am. So we say ok and go get me some soup. It takes about an hour or so, and we come back at 7pm. When we ask if the prescription is ready, Cindy Varella, asks if we signed up for text messaging. Asked if we got a text. We say, "no, but you informed us previously that it would be ready in an hour and a half." She said, "well it's not ready. We'll send you a text message when it's ready." My husband says, "my wife is really sick, is there anyway we can expedite this process?" She retorts, "Yes, you can wait to get a text message." I could not believe how rude she was, as we were very patient considering it had been 3 hours since the prescription had been submitted for processing. I asked if I could wait inside to which she said, "Sure you can wait inside." I went in as painful as it was for me to walk, and finally received my prescription 3+ hours after it had been called in. Cindy was very rude, and all I have to say is I'm glad this is not my typical place to fill a prescription. I only went here because it was 24hrs, and my usual pharmacy closes early on Sundays. If everyone who goes there has to be met with delays and rudeness I can't imagine how they stay in business. read more

Walgreens - First thing I see when I open the bottle, a broken capsule. - Drugstores Near Me - Kankakee, Illinois

Officially done with this Walgreens! I get discharged from the er I drop off the prescriptions and ask if I can pick them up first thing in the morning I get home then call back Walgreens if there's any chance I would be able to pick them up before they close for the night. They say sure so I get the text saying it's ready and get in my car and go then they are closed when I get there the "pharmacist" is walking out the door and says that he can't reopen so I end up staying up all night because of how awful I feel. The next morning I get there fifteen minutes them opening it took them 45 minutes to figure out what they did with my prescriptions and said they misplaced it!! Seriously!! They finally find my prescriptions only for them to have multiple types of the same thing they are wanting me to take which had I would have been in an even worse predicament than I already was!! So never ever would I recommend this pharmacy or anyone who "works" there!! read more

The service we received from this Walgreens is extremely poor. I filled prescriptions for an antibiotic to treat possible bacterial infections when traveling to India. This was a very important drug to have "in case" of illness. While in India, my husband became very ill. I took the prescription out to give it to him, and noticed it said "partial prescription." They had not told me when I picked it up. I WOULD NOT have left the country without it. I was then in South Asia helpless. My husband only had enough for a couple days. He started to feel a little better, but not complete.y. He visited the doctor as soon as we returned to the U.S. I called Walgreen's to tell them of the problem. They just merely seed "do you want the rest of the prescription now". The doctor had told us that it was too late for the rest, and hopefully a resistant bug wouldn't come back because he hadn't had all of the antibiotic. He became extreme.y sick a couple days later. He spent FIVE days in the hospital because of this Walgreen's oversight. It was frightening, and extremely expensive! We are now looking at other pharmacies to transfer our business. read more
