I purposely downloaded this app to rate this store so I could talk about the pharmacy. This place is usually super busy, I have never waited less than a couple people in front of me, but the pharmacists and techs could not be more patient or helpful. Typically at less one person in front of me is in a rush or has an issue with something or frankly an attitude with the techs. Every time I have come, they have acted with patience and kindness and took all the time needed to make sure people understand the issues they may be having or the delay in their medications. And they always apologize to me if there has been a delay in my wait yime. Could not have better things to say about this location! read more

Located on the southwest corner of W 16th St and N Meridian St. Was in the area on an out of town trip and needed to pick up a prescription. My health care system sent over a prescription to this location and the pharmacy processed it with no issues. Shortly after my prescription was sent over to Walgreens, the pharmacy called me to let me know it was ready for pick-up. The pharmacist at the counter was super helpful, clear, and concise when providing me with instruction on how to take the medication. Didn't rush the interaction and was available to answer any question I may have had. read more

Every time I go to this Walgreens I always get nervous about safety jus because it's in a sketchy area but besides that I absolutely think this Walgreens is doing a great job. Their customer service, cleanliness, bathrooms, and photo department is always so helpful. This location is close to my house, so whenever I want to develop pictures, this is where I go! I specifically want to shout out Monique! She's a manager and the way that she handles the store and oversees is very professional. I like how patient and helpful she was when I was checking out. I also had to use the restroom and with Covid and all some places have stopped that but she opened the door and let me go! Ha. Thank you. Possibly the worst Pharmacy in Indy. Sure if you need some gum or Tylenol this is a great place. If you have your prescriptions sent here, then bad move. I haven't been able to figure out just why this store is so bad. I've had to jump through hoops each time I've had any prescriptions sent here. THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!!! THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!!! They must be horribly understaffed, but they will not take a phone call no matter how long you hold. The prompt and music are horrible. I have spent several hours waiting and waiting because it is so important to take your medicine as prescribed but they will not take any calls. The whole pharm counter closes midday for lunch. They don't stagger lunch breaks. They don't list it on their hours of operation.

There's not much to say here but I will say our late night pharmacy drive thru experience was positive. Located at 16th and Meridian, this Walgreens is easily accessible by I65, I70 and downtown. The parking lot is well-lit which can be important because this particular crossing can offer a shady feel from time to time (specifically in the after-dark time frame). There was a bit of a delay in getting someone to the window but once she arrived our interaction was both swift and professional. If you have to run inside, the space is fairly updated and offers large food/snack and makeup options. read more

After a long day at work, I decided to run an errand to pick up a few things from here. I decided while there to just browse, as one literally always does at a store. As I was standing in the makeup aisle, the store manager yelled across an aisle to me in a very rude tone "ma'am can I help you find something????" as if I was doing something wrong by browsing. It wasn't past hours, and I paid for all of my purchases afterwards. I genuinely do not understand how someone can get a power trip from being a manager or something of a freaking Walgreens. The cashier was sweet though. But never will I let someone address me like that in public ever again. Tone is everything to me & if he had an issue, he should have addressed it to me rather than yelling at me across the store. I'm so done. read more

Horrible service. Photo center is a joke. Store is always dirty and smells. Staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. Impossible to make a "quick stop" here as it takes a ridiculously long time to check out, whether the line is long or there's only one person ahead of you. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy experience you can have. DO NOT GET YOUR Rx sent here. If you make that mistake like I did, you can expect long waits and limited staff to help you. They do their best, I'm not trying to flame everyone, it's not the staffs fault, but even the automated systems they use to track your Rx do not work consistently. It's a hot garbage fire! As far as pharmacies/convenient stores go, unless Indianapolis gets a RiteAid chain, Walgreens is my go to store. I absolutely LOVE the new grocery section. This morning, I realized that I had everything I needed to pack my lunch except turkey and some fruit. I was able to get in and out of Walgreens within 5 minutes, with turkey (resealable!) and pre-cut fruit salad in hand. At about $5 for my purchase, it was comparable to regular grocery store prices, and definitely cheaper than going out for lunch. They also have a decent selection of pre-made sandwiches, salads, and sushi. While I didn't hit it this time, they also have a great selection of cosmetics. I occasionally go in to do my "orange tag hunt." This involves roaming the aisles, looking for orange clearance tags. You can save a boatload this way. This is one place where (knock on wood), I have NEVER experienced bad service. Every employee there seems to be perpetually in a good mood and helpful. Especially when you compare them to that "other pharmacy" across the street, with their pharmacists who are slow as molasses and their sky high prices, Walgreens is pretty tough to beat. read more

I've been going to this Walgreens for a number of years. The store itself is clean and overall the staff is pleasant. For prescriptions there is usually a slight wait even if your script had been sent over by your physicians office. I did have one script that wasn't filled correctly and I called them to inform. I ended up having to go back to get the missing pills. A little frustrating, but it's never happened again. The store itself has a good selection of what you normally would expect at a pharmacy as well as a small selection of grocery type items. The checkout can sometimes be pretty slow so just make sure you aren't in a huge hurry. The parking lot overall feels fairly safe. I try to still make my trips here during daylight hours. There have only been a few occasions where I haven't felt completely safe. Overall this Walgreens location is pretty good. It's nothing special, but serves it's purpose and is certainly better than the CVS across the street. read more

NOT the place to go when you need a late night pharmacy...that is no longer open 24 hours. They have cut their hours and now close at 6pm on the weekend! The convenience store is still 24 hours (of course). Staff is always pleasant and there is security on site. I used to be a dedicated Walgreens customer. However, if they choose to keep suburban locations full service but don't do the same for their most centrally located location, the corporation is demonstrating they don't consider care for my family or my neighbors to be very important. Fortunately, there is a CVS across the street that has a 24 hour pharmacy. When you are sick, all the "be well" wishes mean a lot less than being able to fill a script. read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever used. I have to go here because CVS is out of network for me. Pharmacy has always been an extremely long wait, no shorter than 25 minutes or so, but it's become even worse. I've spent the past 3 days trying to get my prescriptions, and I have yet to get my hands on them.Yesterday I was on hold for 48 minutes when a message came on the phone at 5:07 saying they were going on a meal break, and I could either hold for 30 minutes or call back later. Then I spent 37 minutes in the drive through, and 3 cars ahead of me, they put a sign in the window that said they closed the window and we had to go inside. I called them on my way to the drive through today, waited 32 minutes in line and finally got to the window and hung up being on hold, still with 2 people ahead of me on the phone. Miraculously they could fill my prescription, which had an insurance issue that I still don't know because I was never able to reach anyone on the phone over the last 5 days, but I'd have to come back to pick it up. I got there at 7 tonight, 2 hours before close, but they closed early, so I still don't have them. That's absolutely insane. read more

An online visit with Doctor On Demand on Labor Day led me to my most recent visit to this Walgreens. I called the pharmacy first to check on the price of my prescription. The friendly pharmacy tech answered right away and identified herself, though I don't recall her name. She told me the price and transferred me to the pharmacist for a question I had about the medicine. It took a bit longer for the pharmacist to pick up, but he answered my question. I was also grateful that he offered to apply a discount card of some type to my prescription when I said I had no insurance. The price went from over $75 down to $41 and change. It turned out he didn't tell me the exact amount, but I am grateful for the price reduction nonetheless. The Walgreens closest to me was closed permanently in July and the next closest to me is not a 24 hour store or pharmacy. We also discovered that the 24 hour CVS down the street is a 24 hour STORE, but there is no longer a pharmacist late at night. This Walgreens is a bit of a jaunt from where I live, but still relatively close at 5.5 miles away. On the trip over, I saw another CVS that was locked up and must have closed before 9, though I wouldn't use it no matter what time of day because of the neighborhood. It's irritating that there are no longer any other 24 hour pharmacies closer to me, but I was happy with the service at this one. I once again used the drive-thru. It isn't the best neighborhood, especially at night, but I didn't feel like going inside anyway. They had a button to push for service that rang a phone. A lady came on quickly to say she would be right with us. She was pleasant and we were in and out after no longer than five minutes total. I prefer their drive-thru compared to another I have used and reviewed. This one has two lanes, has relatively bright lighting and is adjacent to a lot in the open rather than being in a tight alley-like single lane backed up to a building. I feel the setup of this drive-thru is safer, despite the neighborhood. I had my aunt and uncle and their Beauceron with me so I felt safe, but if you aren't packing a police-type dog, I do think there is a security guard stationed at this store from what I have read in other reviews, should you have any issues. When I have been inside in the past, it was a clean and nice store. I just often see sketchy people lurking about the area outside, sometimes in the parking lot, but usually closeby on the sidewalk and the corner. Good store with what is probably the only 24 hour pharmacy for a lot of people. I just want to stress to be aware of your surroundings outside, no matter what time of day it is. At the very least, it is often a busy and packed parking lot with erratic drivers from time to time. read more

My dad is a pharmacist by trade and retired from CVS, after they bought out the older chain he worked for. Despite that, and their IPO funding his retirement, the only good thing about CVS is their beauty club. For my pharmacy needs -- and as an allergy sufferer, OH DO I HAVE NEEDS -- I much prefer Walgreens. Granted, when I moved to this area, Walgreens was the closest pharmacy. It wasn't until later that CVS demolished the sketchy IHOP to build their store. It made me happy, though, when Walgreens remodeled and stepped up their game. Ok, granted, their self-sign-in option to get your scrips isn't the best -- one night, the pharmacist came out to figure out what the hell was going on -- but generally, customer service is really good. They usually have a security guard on duty and, if I am picking up meds, I put them in my purse -- I mean, yeah, who wants my nasal sprays and synthyroid? But I don't want anyone thinking I have something good -- but that is part of living downtown. I volunteer quite a bit for a local organization and, when I wore a jacket with their logo into the store, the store manager approached me, gave me his card, and said they were looking for local organizations to help out how they could. So, yes, it's a chain, but with a local touch. You can also see a nurse practitioner at most locations now. Plus, I do enjoy that now, employees tell you "Be well!" at the end of your transaction. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Walgreens let alone ANY store in general. My husband, 7 yr old daughter and I came down to Indy for the weekend for an event my husband taking part in. Now, I'm more familiar with Indy/downtown Indy and get the type of people and/or issues they might have to deal with. But to be treated the way I was, was absolutely unacceptable by staff. We finished dinner after a long day, my daughter didn't say until in the car she had a really bad headache and stomach was bothering her so I stopped real quick before they closed to get her some medicine. Got said medicine and like 3 other little things, started walking up to the register to see staff and the security guard at the end of the aisle. One of the older ladies looked at me and said "OH HELL NO! You didn't hear us up front say we are closed?!" I honestly hadn't because I was focusing on what I was looking for and I tune people out when I'm in a store because of my anxiety. One of the other ladies said she can't ring me up which I get, so I quickly put things back as the other older lady kept commenting "uh no, that ain't right. I don't like that". When I came back up, doors were locked so I waited by them. Older lady told the security guard to sweep the store and make sure there was no one else as if I was a freaking criminal plotting something. This whole time I had kept apologizing over an honest mistake. Once the guard came back up and unlocked the doors, the older lady motioned me to get out. I felt the absolute worst, I apologized again to her and said I was just trying to get medicine for my daughter to which she half ass apologized. I hurried out to my car and broke down. It was just then 10:02. The staff needs to do fucking better. You work in customer service, this is your JOB. If you don't want to deal with people, then don't work in this type of position. I work with people day in and out in a professional setting, if I ever acted this way to someone, I would be fired so damn fast. Staff needs to be better trained and have some empathy. read more

I use the pharmacy at this Walgreens and have always been pleased with the service I've gotten. My insurance changed at the beginning of the year and I haven't had anything filled with the new carrier yet, and there was a problem with my insurance card. They weren't very busy, and the pharmacy associate asked if he could call the insurance company and get it taken care of for it. He came back about 10 minutes later and said everything was straighten out and gave me my prescription. I haven't had a bit of trouble since. Most of the time I think I would have been told that I needed to contact my insurance company and then come back, but not in this case. This was a remarkable display of excellent customer service and made me happy I chose them as my pharmacy. read more

The people working here are nice. I used to go here because the pharmacy was 24 hours. Now the pharmacy has limited hours, which I find inconvenient. If I want to pick up an allergy Rx at 11:30 pm, this place is useless. But hey, if you want a Snickers and Yoo-hoo at 2am, they got you covered. read more

They are fairly good at keeping the store well stocked, and they handle the steady flow of downtown customers well for the most part. It's on a busy corner traffic-wise, but there are about four different ways to get in and out of the lot, and they have the drive-thru pharmacy which is very convenient. read more

I've used their pharmacy a few times since it is close to my work. I like that I receive a text message when my medications are ready! However, when I was very sick one day I had to pick medications up from this location, and the woman behind the counter seemed to be moving at a snail's pace to enter the information in the computer. No "Sorry for your wait, it will just be a few more minute" or anything which I think is pretty basic customer service. All in all, I will continue to use the pharmacy due to their convenient location to downtown. read more

This Walgreens greatly exceeded my expectations. This location is in a fairly decent part of town in Old Northside, but a few blocks away can be sketchy. I went here due to moving and having to have a few prescriptions changed. I called ahead and had no trouble getting a hold of the pharmacy even though you do have to go through the automated system first and the cures to talk to the pharmacist. The first thing I noticed about this store was how clean it was, and being well lit, I would feel quite safe being in here in the early morning hours. I was also shocked to see that there was a large waiting area back by the pharmacy where your name and status of your prescription can be monitored on a screen while you wait. That sure beets the hell out of aimlessly wondering the store listening intently while you name can or cannot be understood over the intercom. My prescriptions were available within minutes and the pharmacist was very polite and friendly. She even apologized for the wait which was not long at all. I wish all Walgreens were as nice as this one, and they have by business while I'm working here in town. read more

For the most part this store is always clean and friendly so I won't totally bash them.... As a neighbor, I was disappointed when this morning I witnessed a cashier sell vodka to a clearly intoxicated man. The customer could barely speak or manage his money and the cashier commented on it acknowledging his condition but continued on with the sale. Unhelpful to our community's wellness!
