To the pharmacy manager and pharmacist at the Walgreens on West Walnut Avenue/Dug Gap in Dalton: Shame on you. Last night, my close friend Lisa was actively dying. She had just been sent home on hospice, and while I was there saying what could be my final goodbye, she began experiencing severe distress. Hospice immediately called in comfort medications--medications that weren't optional, weren't for convenience, and weren't something that could wait until tomorrow. They were ordered to relieve the suffering of a dying woman. A family member rushed to your pharmacy and arrived approximately 10 minutes before closing. Instead of showing even the smallest amount of compassion, they were told the prescriptions would not be filled because it was too close to closing time. Your solution? Send the family to Chattanooga to find a 24-hour pharmacy. After making that drive during one of the worst nights of their lives, they were told the wait would be another two to three hours. Think about that. While a family was gathered around a dying loved one, instead of being able to focus on comforting her, they were forced to spend precious time driving from pharmacy to pharmacy because your store chose closing time over compassion. Hospice comfort medications exist for one reason--to prevent unnecessary suffering at the end of life. Every minute those medications are delayed is another minute of pain and distress that no dying person should have to endure. Policies matter. Hours matter. But humanity should matter more. I hope Walgreens management thoroughly investigates what happened and asks whether this is truly the standard of care they want associated with their name. No family should ever have to beg for comfort medications while saying goodbye to someone they love. To the hospice nurse who came out in the middle of the night and to Dustin Saylor for helping secure the supplies needed to care for Lisa--thank you. You demonstrated what compassion actually looks like. You were the light in an otherwise heartbreaking and infuriating night. Lisa deserved comfort. Her family deserved better. The Pharmacy's customer service is terrible. After waiting 45 minutes on hold the person with whom I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. The App and their system are not talking to each other and the information is very confusing and contradictory. Do better! read more

Had to call for a refill because I didn't have my rx number. I'm currently on hold and it been 1 hour and 10 minutes. Still no answer. Seriously guys, just pick ANY other pharmacy in Dalton to do business with. UPDDATE: at 1 hour and 50 minutes I gave up. Called Dr and they are going to send my prescription to Kroger. Looking forward to a new pharmacy going forward. read more

I have been going here since I moved here 2 years ago. The service has quickly fallen off in their pharmacy. On almost every occasion now, they leave you on hold for an hour at a time, and they are almost incompetent on answering your questions. I have to explain myself multiple times in order to get my prescription filled, and it is never filled in time. I would never recommend this pharmacy to anyone. read more

I have now had someone take me to Walgreens Pharmacy three times today to try to pickup a prescription I was out of. I had also tried to call and after about 30 minutes someone finally picked up. I told the lady that I needed the prescription filled and I don't have a car and had to get someone to bring me. this morning they told me to come back at 12 and the same thing when I went back at 12. The pharmacist was giving shots and the lady said she had to fill the medicine I needed so we waited about 20-30 minutes and finally she said they were ready. I live about 20 minutes away and when we got back to the house it wasnt even the prescription i needed. I honestly think the lady with the attitude actually did that on purpose. Anyway I am not very happy with them and may change to a family run pharmacy. I've been with Walgreens for several years but this was ridiculous. it wasn't just an inconvenience to me but to the friend kind enough to take me. read more

Walgreens pharmacy on West Walnut Avenue is the absolute worst pharmacy in Dalton. Their prices are higher than other pharmacy's and their service is abysmal. They have a good app, but their personnel lack the intellect to utilize it. They are understaffed as a whole, whereas the staff that they are able to maintain is rude and incompetent. It is possible that a good manager could come in and clean house and start over with an entirely new crew and remedy the problem because many years ago they were a reliable service oriented establishment. I would encourage anyone who requires courtesy, job knowledge and professionalism to look elsewhere for their pharmaceutical needs. read more

My wife asked me to pick up her generic diuretic prescription, and I was surprised to have to pay $50. I checked on GoodRX when I got home and found the exact same drug and quantity for anywhere from $7 to $12 depending on the store. DEFINITELY CHECK GOODRX BEFORE WASTING YOUR MONEY AT WALGREEN!! This place is the absolute worst! I have 3 prescriptions and my husband has 3. Even though I have signed up on line, and have checked the box to have all my prescriptions ready at the same time, never ever, not even one time, have they had all three ready for me (and not my husbands either who is on a different date for pickup vs me) I've asked them at the store to fix it and they assure me they have for both of us,but no! I get text alerts telling me my prescriptions are ready but when I get there they so no, not sure why I got the text alert but they don't have them ready and I can come back in a few hours and they'll have it for me then. minimum I make 1/2 a dozen trips there every month to get our meds. I would think w them being a "leading pharmacy" they would have it together- and granted maybe it's just this one Walgreens and not all of them and I know sometimes things go wrong from time to time but this is every single trip for over a year -my brain couldn't take it anymore- I had to switch! If u have more than 1 ongoing prescription I recommend anywhere but here! read more
