While staying in Minneapolis, I stopped into a close-by Walgreens to get a few items. I have alway seen locations in downtowns and this one was right around the corner from where I was staying. I am always pleased when I am properly greeted when I walk through the door. I am especially happy when a clerk or cashier look up from what they are doing to acknowledge a customer walking through the door. This store, like other Walgreens is big and bright with clean isles to navigate through. This incredibly delightful staff was over the top in greetings. Happy to see a customer. Happy to help a customer. Happy to speak with a customer. I needed a few items ranging from water to shaving cream. They had plenty of items to choose from and I pleased that their house brand is a substantially reduced price and the same item. Check out went very quickly and I received the same cordial greeting as I left as when I came in. The team member behind the counter just personified the model employee of engagement, spreading happiness and loving to be able to help. Kudos to a wonderful team here at Walgreens.

Perfect! There was lots of parking in this plaza. I backed into a spot and headed over to this store. I was immediately greeted by Easter items. I was pleased that cute Squishmallows were a part of this welcome squad. I briefly looked at the nail care section. It was great. There was nail polish remover in a number of forms, polish, gel stickers, fake nails, and more. There were more Squishmallows in the seasonal Easter aisle. It was also Valentine's Day, so I saw candy for both occasions. I did not buy any Valentine's Day merchandise. I decided to wait a day, to take advantage of clearance sales that likely would happen. I needed pop. I got a couple of two-litre bottles. I was thrilled to see Diet A&W root beer. It's not as common as Diet Dr Pepper. I took a bottle each of these flavours. I also got popcorn. I headed to the checkout. There was one person ahead of me. I didn't have to wait long. I got a woman who was competent. She ended up putting a bottle in a plastic bag. It was different. I would have double-bagged both bottles. To each, her own. I paid with a credit card. At Walgreens, the payment kiosk prompts whether you want to pay in USD or CAD with a Canadian credit card. I always go with USD and have my credit card do the exchange. I got a coupon for $7 off my next purchase of at least $15. I thanked the woman and headed to my car. This store had everything that I needed. I wish that I had more time to browse. The next time I'm back in Blaine, I hope that I can take my time shopping here. (87)

There's been a few times I've rushed in 10 minutes before close (sorry!) desperately needing something. The employees have been understanding and friendly, despite what I'm sure is an annoyance. Usually there aren't any cars in the drive-thru, but if there are, be forewarned that it moves slow. Still, I hold no animosity because the workers are friendly. I know people get sick and shit happens, but this was the first time we were done wrong. A few weeks ago, I was waiting for 2 prescriptions for my husband who was suffering from a terrible Gout flare up. I was told his prescriptions would be ready in 15 minutes. An hour later I was still waiting. Finally got the prescription and went home. Only had one of his prescriptions in the bag. Had to go back and pick up the other one. Called the urgent care to make sure they were both sent in. Yes they were both sent in. Not even an appology!!!! HATE Walgreens and I don't trust them at all. While small and local, they still have a great automated refill system and are tied in with my insurance so things are easy and simple. Plus, they support you above and beyond. Example, I travel a lot and so sometime I'm short on meds while out for 2 weeks. They get me what I need to make sure I'm covered until I return. The blood gushed and I at least had napkins to wrap and apply pressure, (I was a boy scout, hey). Not totally sanitary but the bigger issue is what do I do now with no first aid kit in the car. Look up across the street. A drugstore! A bland looking building on the outside but a large drug store and gift shop inside. Bandages and first aid in the first aisle by the door, as if they were expecting me. Found a box of heavy duty bandages while trying to hold a napkin over my surface wound. Coupons don't always scan or come off like they are supposed to. I understand that this issue needs to be corrected by a higher up department but sometimes depending on who's working they are sometimes unwilling to help or correct the issue when it's not the customers fault. The store employees are so scared to override coupons or type them in manually which is frustrating. Big brother is watching stores closely and not allowing store level staff to take care of the customer. My photo order was marked as being done but at pickup they couldn't find it. I was told the printer was down and it didn't print. Annoying that my order would have been marked as completed as this was a time waster.
