At the same time, I've been struggling to find something that will cover my dark spots (thanks, adult-onset acne) without making me look like Little Richard. One of the makeup artists, Jocelyn, tried two foundations on me, but they made my skin look like muddy water and they did not compliment my yellow and green undertones well at all (despite her raving about how well the products matched my skin). Instead of blending in with my skin, they sat on top of my face like a yellow tinged paint. She gave me samples of the product to try later, but after viewing it on me in a brighter, stronger light, I realized that I needed to keep looking for my perfect match. Another makeup artist (I forgot her name, but she was a black girl whose name also started with J. Jess, maybe?) asked if I needed any help. I told her that I was looking for something that had a more natural finish. She put me on to some really fabulous foundation from Cover FX that made my skin look dewy and fresh instead of cakey and dull. I walked around the store and checked out my skin in different kinds of light. It looked fantastic. It also wasn't heavy or greasy. She also introduced me to a peach colored primer from Make Up Forever that helped to even my skin tone and make the look even more flawless. I appreciate her taking the time to make sure that I found the right product for my skin. I've been to MAC, bluemercury, and a couple of other stores that have just tried to sell me stuff, as opposed to taking the time to make sure that I leave with a product that is right for me and a product that I'm satisfied with. This location actually has a parking lot that is not as insane as other TJ locations but you may still have to park further away. As busy as this store gets, the store still is clean and tidy. Even though the brand is generally considered "old lady" clothing, I have actually bought some nice things from various Chico's locations, generally solid sweaters and teeshirts, and they're generally pretty good quality items. I often find things on the sales racks, which is all to the good because I think many of the items are a bit overpriced. The pants are always too short for me. The salespeople at the Gainesville Chico's are unfailingly helpful and strike just the right note: not pushy but they don't ignore you, either.
