Your run of the mill Walgreens. Employees are generally friendly but it's usually fairly dirty and unkempt.

This review is for Walmart-Arbutus Maryland. I ordered 4 tires from Walmart.com. The tires were…read moreshipped to Walmart Arbutus in 3 days. The brand of tires were "Yokohama Geolandar" to be installed by Walmart service center. The appointment was for 9 am. I waited in their service center 1 hour & 15 minutes, before they pulled my vehicle in the Bay area. I ask, why someone having an appointment, was it necessary for them to wait over an hour. Their response was, because "we had to wait for the 10 am guy to arrive." At this point the service tech told me I needed a key to take the lugs off. Well, I had the vehicle for 11 years and no one ever ask me for a key. My vehicle is a Lexus RX 350. In the past I've taken it to Lexus dealership and they never ask for a key, presumingly they had a universal or master key that would fit many vehicles. Well, Walmart stated they didn't have keys and could not get the lugs off to install the tires. Needless to say, I took my 4 tires packing them in my truck went a half block down the street to "J's Tires" on Patapsco Ave. They took the lugs off the rims, mounted, balanced and installed my new tires too. My tires look great, installed by "J's Tires" and do not recommend going to Walmart Arbutus for any auto service needs.

Avoid this location at all costs! Dave (pictured), is incompetent, deceitful and extremely rude…read more I found a slipcover on the Walmart app and went to the store to get it because I needed it same day. Pickup service wouldn't be available until the next day. The slipcover I saw online was way more expensive in-store. I don't know if this is due to the new "dynamic pricing" but the price difference was huge! I went on the app to check their price matching policy and as long as the item didn't have special pricing (like sales) and wasn't sold by third party, they would price match. I get to the checkout line and the lady rings up my items. The price on the register was the price I saw on the shelf instead the price I saw online. I asked the cashier if they honor their price matching policy and she says "it depends". Then a man comes from a special area behind the register and intervenes. He says as long as the item is "shipped and sold by Walmart" and isn't sold by third party, they price match. I pulled the item up on the app and showed them the online price and showed them where it said it was shipped and sold by Walmart. He then changes his stance and says they can't do price matching because the item says it's an online price. I rebutted that that's not what he initially said and he continues on to say they don't match online prices. That's literally what price matching is for. Also, if that was true why didn't he say that first? Honestly, it just seems he was against doing a price match regardless of the circumstances--making up rules as he goes. I told him ok, took note of his name on his tag (Dave) and just proceeded with the transaction to avoid holding up the line. I got to my car, looked up the price match policy and thoroughly examined it. Nothing Dave said was outlined on Walmart's website. I went back in-store and asked loss prevention how I can request to speak with Dave again about an issue with the price match policy. He told me I could go to guest services and they could page him. I went to guest services and I asked a young lady if she could page Dave. She told me she would get him and went into a back room. I waited for about 10+ minutes until the young lady and Dave came out. He brought a piece of paper out with some hand written notes. I told him I reviewed the online price match policy and nothing he said was outlined in the policy. He then shows me a paper and it was a piece of paper that he printed from Walmart's website. It was the same policy I looked up, ONLY he had written next to the policy in ink, "online sales". He really tried to gaslight me and insult my intelligence by saying online sales is considered a "special event". I told him just because he WROTE it on the paper doesn't make it apart of the policy. I told him that's not what's in black and white online. He then points to a line in the policy that says "Walmart manager has final decision". So I told him that his final decision is based on his feelings and ego because it's certainly not due to policy. I also asked what his title was. He said store manager. Little do he know I already knew his official title is actually a Walmart Coach. He lied. James is the store manager of this location. I asked Dave "where's James?" He looked at me dumbfounded and said "who's James?" I said, "you don't know who the store manager of this store is? Aren't you a coach?" He then goes to say James isn't there, he's on vacation--and he's filling in for him. I asked when James would be back and he said the following week. He then tries to dismiss me by saying "have a good day" and walks off. Before he does, I snapped a photo of him, with the intention of warning potential customers of his actions. As I'm walking away, he yells I can't take a photo of him. I said we're in public and they are recording me in-store. He rushes over to loss prevention and tells them to take my phone for defamation. Further proving the point Dave is very incompetent and uneducated. Loss prevention told him he can't take my phone because it's illegal. I left. BUYER BEWARE!

Ignore a lot of the cranky reviews - Giant on Wilkens is solid. I've been coming here for 15 years…read moreand it has been a reliable store. It's a large place with a large variety of options for people of all tastes and walks of life. You'll find blue collar and white collar workers alike coming in to get their daily bread. Some of the more seasoned cashiers have been around a long time and are on a first-name basis with some of the customers. When Wegmans opened in Columbia, Giant upped its game with quality of food (one of the guys at the fish counter said they reduced the time they'll hold onto unsold fish so that they're competing with only the best). Likewise, the 2025 renovation of the store saw it expand by over 50% and now there's a café area with a Starbucks and some other prepared meals to go. While specialty items are quite as expansive as say a Whole Foods, there is plenty of specialty goods, including organic options, gluten-free options, vegan options, and imitation meats (which as someone feeding a vegetarian child, this is great when we want a change from beans, lentils, and tofu for protein). There is always an armed security guard by the entrance. I've never had any safety issues since I've been there. On rare occasions, you might find someone panhandling outside. I don't use the pharmacy, but there is always a long line there. I've looked around, and the prices here are competitive, unless you count a wholesaler like Costco. Use your Giant card and digital coupons, you can save plenty of money. Use points for discounts on gas at Shell. The parking lot is tight; I always feel like they could have made the spaces a foot wider, but oh well. A great one-stop shop for your grocery needs!

I did notice that the new parking spots also are pretty small. I had a few incidences where I had to return mushy green apples, bruised up strawberries, and not so great cocktail shrimp. Other than that, everything is rather simple to find, with each aisle clearly labeled and the self-checkout line definitely makes a trip to the grocery store a lot faster. It is also nice that there is always someone readily available to help with self-checkout. They also have a lottery kiosk and a good selection of fresh flower bouquet.
