I have a beef with Walgreens. I checked out today and the clerk asked if I was a member. I said yes and entered my phone number. He then said, you have $10 credit would you like to use it. I said, sure. I left feeling good that I managed to use some Walgreens loyalty credits. When I reached home, I looked at my phone and discovered that it was not Walgreens credit that I received but he had cashed some of the ThankYou points from my Citi Double Cash account. Walgreens is not the only business to do this. WalMart, Schnucks and CVS do it and I'm sure there are more. I always decline this because they screw you on the exchange. They charge a 25% premium in points used for the credit received versus getting cash from Citi. There is a difference though between Walgreens and the others I mentioned. That difference is that the source of the credit did not appear on the screen that I had in front of me. It was on the checker's screen. So, I did not have a chance to see what was going on and reject it. His question followed immediately after I entered my phone number, so I assumed that it was Walgreens loyalty credit. At the other stores, Schnucks, WalMart and CVS, it is very clear on the POS pad that they are going to charge you more points than the credit you receive. I am sure Citi has a deal with these retailers to split the 25% premium and Citi has a way of getting some of the Double Cash back into their accounts. In return, Walgreens gets some of it as well. If I were cynical, I would suspect that Walgreen's trains their checkers to do this and add a little more to Walgreens accounts as well. This was not a life changing transaction, but I am not happy about the practice. I will think twice before returning to Walgreens and will opt for CVS, which demonstrates more transparency before this happens. read more

I dropped off my prescriptions at 11 am, and showed up at 6pm. Was told 7 hours later that one of my prescriptions is out. So I had to drive to another Walgreens 4 miles away. I am so frustrated because I was told they would be ready by 2 pm. No one picks up the phone. Only when I showed up at 6 pm did they tell me it was out, and it was for a chronic illness. Apparently, there is a lack of communication, but not at my expense! Changing to another pharmacy brand. read more

This rating applies to service at 9:00 at night. I came in tp pick up my photo invitation order that was estimated to be ready at 7:30. It was not ready. When I asked I was told that time is just an estimate. Sorry, an hour and a half is too far off the estimate. I stood around a little too long waiting to even be acknowledged in the first place. This Walgreens cannot fill a timely prescription. They cannot keep staff and they hire people that do not often know the medications that they are handling. (I had 3 meds beginning with a "T" and they could not intelligently discuss the refills as they could not figure out which script I was talking about) Additionally, I was threatened to have my script withheld after 20 mins of trying to figure out why my one of my scripts was showing as "pick up" when I did not pick up the script! The angry tech, who joined the conversation late, told me she would "hang up and hold my script" I hope she feels powerful withholding medication from a cancer patient. Save yourself the trouble and find a different pharmacy. While I won't mention the techs name, this is not the first negative review about her, she should not be in customer service. read more

Pharmacy has made mistakes with my last 3 orders. Especially frustrating when my kid is sick and it is a four-hour ordeal with multiple pick ups and returns to get it right each time. I came to Walgreen's for a Shingles(zoster) vaccination. I saw a TV add for it and thought gee I need this. After all they said on TV it was very painful to have Shingles so what the heck I went for it. I have no idea how much it is going to cost me because of all the insurance mess. The worst would be I pay all for $250. Which if this works I guess it is worth it. As of now you only need this one vaccination for the rest of your life. I hope I am not the one that finds out it is not lifetime. Most Walgreens have a walk in clinic and you sign up with at a kiosk. When I signed in there was no waiting. Boy that kiosk gave me fits. I could not find out what was wrong with me to punch into the kiosk, not sick, no skin rashes, really just want a vaccination. So I made up a few things to progress to an appointment. Well OK, I lied, I guess but the assistant saw me fumbling with the entry on the kiosk and asked if she could help. I told her what I wanted and she told me it was on the first screen. Oh. Uh I am a man and well that is just a good enough excuse. In really no time at all I was in and out. I now feel like I have Superman's cape on and I am now invincible to shingles. I feel like such a bad ass now. read more

There are a lot of complaints I have about this store, but the pharmacy is by far the worst. They rung up an $800 prescription as if it was the most natural thing in the world. They offered no explanation as to why my prescription was not covered by my insurance. The customer service in that department is outrageous. And it's supposed to be a flagship store as a "specialty pharmacy." Find another place for your pharmaceutical needs! After my departure, one of the pharmacists took it upon herself to contact my doctor and the insurance company. She worked to find me a temporary solution while we applied for an appeal. I was pleasantly surprised by her helpfulness and kindness. read more

I had to pick up a Prescription for my seven month old. I called ahead to find out how long it would be because I didn't wanna take longer than needed with my very cranky, sick baby. They told me I'd be 20 minutes so I get there 30 minutes after the phone call and they tell me it's gonna be another 20 minutes because the person I spoke to didn't get it ready. It was a big let down, because now I have to wait another 20 (maybe longer who knows I was lied to the first time) with a crying baby. I gave them two stars because the second person I spoke to was very nice. read more

Currently Apple Pay does not work here at all!!! When it did accept the payment you still had to enter a pin number... I call total bs, my phone has my banking info & my fingerprint you need nothing else!!! make me go through any other steps will not shop here!!! read more

This isn't just a review for this specific Walgreens; it actually is a general complaint for all Walgreens pharmacies in the West County area. Walgreens pharmacy fills prescriptions on automatic refill and them gives you an automated call to let you know it is ready. Unfortunately, they do not put their address on the message to advise where the prescription should be picked up but instead of letting you know a street address (as would make sense in a GPS era), they will tell you it is "at the NW corner of Big Bend and Old 141" and then do not leave a return phone number in case you don't know where that site is located. What?! Any cell phone will give you a phone number, right? Unfortunately if you call back the number that comes up on your cell phone, you don't get a usable phone number. As far as I am aware, no street address exists called Old 141 but I've only lived in Missouri for 7 years. Walgreens will call you again if you don't go through a scavenger hunt the figure out which pharmacy has your medication. However, the second time you are called, the automated system will let you know that you have a certain amount of time to come in or your prescription will be put back. Therefore, you either figure it out or you're out of luck. If you're like me, you drive to the pharmacy where you think you brought your prescription and hope that your refill is there. Unfortunately, since there are so many Walgreens locations, you might not be in luck. Tonight I drove just one too many times to the wrong Walgreens. I have spoken to 2 store managers who said they would pass the information on, but this is not been resolved for several months since my complaint. I've been a loyal Walgreens customer for many years, beyond filling 10 prescriptions a month also buying other items. However, now I will no longer shop there, since it has been made clear to me that customer service is not a priority. read more

The pharmacists here are nosey. You are a pharmacist assistant. Not a doctor. If you have questions about the reasons for my prescription or dosage, CALL MY DOCTOR. That's why that little prescription sheet has their name and phone number on it, so you can call them instead of violating HIPAA compliance by discussing my condition and medications in a public setting. Not that this review will stop anyone from going there because let's face it, we don't go to Walgreens for the customer service, we go for the convenience. But I needed to rant somewhere and maybe at the very least the pharmacy employees will see this and get their shit together. read more

We used this location for years. Unfortunately, due to consistent communication problems, we have grown very disappointed. More than once, we have been given the wrong manufacturer of a certain prescription, although we made specific requests to resolve the issue. On another occasion, we cancelled another prescription to only be notified it was filled again a few days later. We attempted to contact Walgreens administration to discuss issues without a response to date. read more
