I am being forced to move out my complex in the middle of a pandemic for no good reason and rent was paid on time since I lived here..I even upgraded from a one bedroom to a 2 bedroom. It is actually personal. I clashed with this incompetent white woman named Diane from Corporate. They lied and said I didn't up keep the apartment. And that there were photos. I found out from a staff member there are no photos. The asst. Manager was will to inspect the apartment herself and reverse my none renewable lease. And Corporate shut her down. These are some heartless people. They know my mom just passed. I have diabetes, which makes me high risk. So I have to move in the middle of a pandemic. The company is Southwood Realty. The complex is Walden Landing. If you live south of Atlanta, don't rent any of their properties

Ok so I've been living here in the complex now for about 10 months. I've read the other reviews and I must say other than the apartment being run down and the so called security gates have only worked maybe 2 days since I've been here. Stay away. I have what seem to be duvets in my floor from water damage the carpets seems to be very old with paint overspray around the vase boards. Patch work on the ceiling from water damage was never even tried to blend. Rust in bathroom sink around drain stained bathtub enclosure. Kitchen floor is all marked up from sharp objects being dropped on it.

I have lived here for 7 months now. Just discovered I have termites! Management sent an exterminator out 16 days after I made numerous complaints. Now I'm asking to be moved to another unit because of the major damage done and they say No! They will not make any accommodations because the termites are not their fault!! Also state they will not let me end lease!

I have used them many times over 8 years. When I first used them, John, the owner, was nice and…read moreseemed like he is honest and hard working and the price is reasonable. They were just starting out so they need customers so I referred them to people I know. Many times, he hires people who are not experienced. They dropped my plastic crates and damaged my PlayStation and damage my furniture, wall, and floors but I have never asked for compensation. He uses whatever people he can fine, sometimes he's college age sons who has no idea about moving. I have given them so much furniture and other things that I don't use for free. In 2018, I moved to a house and used them to move. When they were going up the stairs they dropped the dresser and made big dents on my hardwood floor. The dresser was also scratched, and my huge canvas paining (one of a kind) was damaged due to them stacking boxes too high and it tumbled and damaged my painting. I asked the owner about the painting, dresser, and the floor and all he was doing is make excuses. He doesn't take any responsibility. I asked him how to file insurance claim and he said he doesn't want to file insurance and he said he will go ahead and fix it and took my painting with him. It was almost 4 months of me calling him to get my painting back. In January 2021, I had to move to a smaller house so I decided to use him again because I was in a rush and didn't feel like finding a new mover. He knows exactly what I have and I told him I have a few more furniture so he gave me a quote over the phone. I asked him to stopped by my friends place and pick up some furniture and bring them to my new house the day of my move. He calls my friend and she told him what exactly she had .He called me and told me it would be more money so I agreed to pay it. He called me back again within 30 minutes and told me it would be higher price and after arguing with him back and forth I agreed to pay it. The day of the move, he changed his mind again and told me it would be more money by then I was a hostage to his demand so I agreed to pay it. During the move he tells me again he needs little more money, I told him u changes ur price 5 or 6 times and he's response was he lost money on my last move and he is not bulging on price. I agreed to pay him. After the move, he told the movers I am going to give them $50 tip which I don't mind giving them. Once they finished I gave the movers $50 and they looked at me like I was crazy and one of the mover said do u expect us to split $50. They were expecting $50 tip for each movers. I have never experienced any movers expecting so high of a tip. They didn't assemble one of my bed because there were missing screws and he told me he will come and install it once they get the screws. I haven't heard from him in a week so I called and he said I have to pay him $100. I said ok. He never showed up so I called again after a few days, he then told me he needs $120. I said ok. He didn't show up. I called him again after a week and he said he wants $150 plus $10 for the screws. I told him I will pay him $140 plus $10 for the screws. I told him when he is going to come and he said he will send his brother and told me no one wants to come to my place because I don't give his movers any tips. A month later, I saw my basement ceiling leaking with water, I didn't know where it was coming from at first but after spending several hours trying to figured it out, it was coming from my refrigerator water line that was leaking water very slowly. I called and told him and he tells me why did I take so long to call him. I told him I do not use basement and it was a slow leak and I only saw the leak when it was dripping down. It damaged my ceiling and my hardwood floor. He then makes excuses that he put the water line and there is no way it could leak. I turned off the water line and I told him to come and inspect and it took him another 3 weeks to send his movers. Originally I was just asking them to put the waterline correctly so I can get ice. I wasn't even asking for repair cost for my ceilings or my floors. His movers just saw the line and not even turn on the water and said it's leaking from inside the wall. John refused to do anything and said it's not his problem. He told me he can come and look but he had to charge me for coming out to my house. All I wanted was my waterline to connect correctly but after he made that comment I was furious. I told him I will call the plumber and if it is the refrigerator waterline then I am going to ask for all the repair charges. John refused to take any Kind of ownership at his mistake or his workers mistake. His movers are not careful and expect unreasonable tips. He said he has an insurance but he doesn't want to file for a claim. I will never use him again.

On the day they showed us around, they didn't show us the room that we were going to pay for because they claimed that it was under "renovations". After paying the $300 security deposit and getting the keys, not even to the right apartment room, but to another, because they claimed that the room that we paid for had been flooded by the upstairs neighbor, which I came to find out they use every single time for each person, so they can put you in wherever they really want you. In a room that's moldy, dirty, full of roaches, and completely busted, and claim that we did every piece of damage. After complaining to them about everything, they say that it's on us and that once moved in, it's our problem. So, my fiancé and I cleaned and left this place completely spotless before the move-out date. just for them to charge us over $230 for damages and late fees, even though we paid everything on time, as well as before we left, which is the same amount of money we spent to fix everything they had left from previous renters. We have absolutely had it with this place and all the BS that they are feeding a bunch of families who need homes. SO, if you're looking for a place to stay for some time or even start a family, stay far away from Colton Creek. They are just money-hungry and just plain rude. If I could give it a negative, I would.

Hi to whoever is reading this I've been in my apartment since March 1st we've had nothing but…read moreproblems here we are sick of it we've been nothing but lied to by Desiree And the other lady up there we pay almost $700 for an electric bill which isn't normal at all we've been going through this back and forth we've had to go to my sister in laws house and my moms house for a whole week after my newborn was born because it was reaching 91 in our apartment and yet nothing was happening no one apologized no one offered to put us in a different unit when obviously ours was messed up my baby can't be in this heat it's so messed up we pay so much to live here and we're paying almost half of our rent in electric bills when we don't even turn on any lights getting told that this is normal but it's not and on top of that to even transfer to another apartment it's $500-$600 fee even though it's not our fault it's happening this is something wrong with the unit and this apartment we thought this place was awesome but we are just hurt.
