They never leave anything open for people who need a same day appointment and they have these walk in Saturdays that are from 8-12 and are always crowded or at a different location. Not sure if it's greed but it's sad when a doctor's office keeps accepting new patients when there is no room for them. It's interfering with the care of established patients.

I feel safe and confident in the evaluation and assessment when I see a physician directly who is board certified in a subspecialty with many years of surgical training and many years of experience. In today's health care system, this is a gold nugget. Other offices will have you see a midlevel PA or NP unless you specifically request a doctor MD or DO. So, I drive 3 counties over to Saleeby & Wessels.. . .because I want to see a doctor. My bill was very reasonable, and I pay out of pocket. I walked out one-and-done which is worth a lot more to me as a busy single mom. I think the user who commented about a bill has an insurance issue. Excellent experience!

However,…read moreI will be switching offices for a few reasons. 1 - Lack of transparency regarding cost I was asked to sign a document about procedures that may happen. I want my physician and his staff to tell me what they know, which includes cost. Yes, it's my responsibility to ask, but it also their responsibility to tell. 2 - Not cultivating an environment of comfortable dialogue I would have liked Dr. Wessels and his staff to tell me about the procedures ahead of time - when procedures are advantageous and when they are not necessary. I understand an exam is often needed in determine prognosis. However, I would have appreciated the physician take a few extra minutes to show the patient dignity by having them sit up to share face-to-face any concerns and advice the physician may have as well as leave room for the patient to ask questions. Do NOT ask if a patient wants a procedure when he/she is in the midst of an uncomfortable and vulnerable exam. It's unprofessional and inconsiderate. The left the office feeling shame that I hadn't asked questions about cost nor advocate for a more comfortable setting, but also frustration that the physician didn't offer cost information up nor provide a comfortable environment to do so.

They do not answer the phone and they do not return calls if you leave a voicemail. If you happen to get someone to actually answer the phone, you will learn very quickly that you calling is a problem for them and they will then forward you and ask you to leave another voicemail. They do not care and you will actually hear that sentiment in their voice, clearly. It won't matter if you're cordial in every single encounter or how mannerly you behave in general. They simply do not care about resolving even the most simplistic of administrative/insurance issues. You will spend weeks battling and agonizing before you get a return call, if one ever actually does come. His office didn't bill my procedure correctly; they used my member ID but not the correct insurance. So when the anesthesiologist billed my insurance company, said company had no filing about a colonoscopy procedure actually occurring. So my insurance sees only that I had some anesthesiology services on a certain date. That alone is a $600 bill that only $108 of which was covered because there was no procedure tied to it. If my insurance company had received the billing for the actually colonoscopy along with the anesthesiology, all of it would have been covered at 1000%. My procedure was literally 7 months ago and I have fought and battled with Dr Vernon's office/billing staff. I'm now about to have to pay $492 for the anesthesiology or face being sent to collections, all because Dr Vernon's office didn't file with my insurance prior to the anesthesiologist filing. I know I gave him the correct insurance info and the proof is in the fact that the anesthesiologist successfully filed their portion of the claim. I will NEVER return to this office and whenever the subject of gastro issues/routine colonoscopy comes up in conversation, I will do everything I can to warn folks about what they'll likely face should they choose Dr Vernon. I will also be warning my PCP that he is destroying his own credibility with every referral he makes to Dr Vernon.

Dr. Nijam is unresponsive and Carrie's around an energy that steams "I don't want to be here and I don't care about you." This was made obvious when she was late to the 2 appointments I had with her and walked out of my first appointment to see another patient. Please, if this post can do anything for you as a reader, it is to NOT attend this physician. There are so many other ones nearby that will make it worth your time and treat you like a human!!!

She had a spinal problem and was immediately referred to Duke Children's Hospital. The following year she had fluid on the spine. The neurologist at Duke was amazing in both instances but had our pediatrician not detected a problem, she might not be walking. I saw that he recently pushed for a child to get an MRI when other doctors had not thought it was a big deal. The child had a brain tumor. He is an amazing pediatrician and I felt obligated to recommend him.

My son has been sick once (enough to need an apt) & my daughter has never been to the doctor except well visits....until recently. My daughter 15y got a head cold a few weeks ago and we ran to fast med. In and out within an hour. Well she needed an apt last week bc her ear has been hurting off and on and we wanted to have it checked out. I call Cary Pediatrics at 8:45am 11.10.22 and they tell me they are completely booked up for the day. Okay, how about tomorrow? "No we do not 'pre-book' sick appointments". I am shocked! Again I've needed them 2 times in a decade so I don't understand not checking the schedule for tomorrow. "You can only pre-book well appointments". Okay, how about walk-in? "Our walk-in ends at 8:50am". I reply, so I can't make an appointment for tomorrow, I can't come in today and your walk-in is only open from 8am-8:50am. "Yes, call back tomorrow at 8am". I say, maybe I need to find a new practice. "Okay have a good day" and she hangs up! No offer to check other offices. I would have gone to Apex, even Fuquay. Nope, nothing! So I called JM&A was seen that day and had a great experience! Oh and they checked all of their locations! They didn't have an appointment at the closest location but they checked them all. I had to drive an extra 5 minutes which I was happy to do! Your receptionists are extremely important. I would have gone to Cary, Apex or even Fuquay-Varina. None of this was offered. She could care less that I said I will be leaving. So I left! I've had some great experiences with Cary & Apex and I've had some horrible experiences (when one of the doctors likened me putting a couple of ounces of 1/2&1/2 in my son's milk to help him meet his weight goals to child abuse...2oz of half and half is NOT child abuse and if it was joke it wasn't funny!!) even after that horrific experience I stayed (vowing never to see that doctor again). This receptionist experience, not taking sick apts over a 36-48hr hour period (since you only have 50min of walk-in clinic), not having walk-in hourS (walk-in minutes), not checking other locations ...well all of that was the last straw.
