Morrisons

Morrisons

Morrisons Hillsborough Barracks, Sheffield, has taken another big step downhill. Went on 2/1/25…read more (at 3pm, on a Thursday). The hot food counter is now gone. Replaced by steel racks containing items in cardboard boxes, which you can't really see into. There are lables on the shelves, but it is hard to view the actual food to know what you are getting. I had a good look but couldn't find any chicken legs or thighs. Also the problem of bare shelves. This is a big store, but there was no Morrisons own brand Wholewheat Muesli, no own brand Fruit & Fibre Flakes. And the fish counter had a £3.75 each or 3 for £10 on the twin packs of cod / haddock in breadrumbs / batter, but they only had 1 packet of cod in batter and 1 packet of haddock in batter, and nothing at all in breadcrumbs, so the 3 for £10 offer was unavailable, and the haddock had a use-by date of 3 Jan, i.e. the next day! I have an unspent £5 voucher from my More Card, but once I have spent it I will not be shopping at Morrisons again. It is a 3-mile drive south for me, and the same distance north is the Fox Valley retail park, which has proper butchers, bakers, hot food shops, etc, and Stocksbridge Co-op maybe expensive but always has its own-brand breakfast cereals in stock.

But I swear to God, if…read moreI was, then I would be starting a 12 year stretch right now for what that cunt of a manager at @Morrisons Hillsborough and his staff have done to my neurodisabled daughter #raging Staff accused her of shoplifting because she adjusted her brastrap walking through the checkouts, saying that they had seen her put something down her top. Didn't call security, didn't call the police, just plainly accused her. She's been having panic attacks ever since. That was 2 weeks ago. After 4 different versions of events from them over the last week, which we have proved to be lies, he tried to justify their actions saying they can accuse on suspicion without evidence, and she had the biggest panic attack we've ever seen, and he was so fucking blasé about it. Because of her disabilities, she wasn't confident to go out in public until a couple of years ago, now she won't go out alone again because of this. She's also now back in therapy because of it. Absolutely fucking raging and I won't rest until his career goes now for this!!!!!!!!!

A fairly large Sainsbury's store considering it is in a city centre, located in Sheffield's The…read moreMoor. It is smaller than your average supermarket, yet with some of the counters you'd find in one, so it reminds me of an average Tesco Metro store. The staff here seemed really rude and unhelpful for one, including the security who seemed to just stand there when anything happened including an altercation between two customers. The store does feel a little cramped with the tills basically right next to every aisle, it feels like they're trying to cram everything into one space and it just isn't working and makes the store more uncomfortable than convenient. The product range in-store was okay, but the whole process was slow, the self-service check-out machine area, for example, was far too narrow, busy and it wasn't run very well with half of the machines out of order so you'd never know when it was your turn - this whole checkout process for me was the final straw, it was too confusing, poorly designed and time-consuming and nearly made me decide to put my items down and leave the store. The main issues with this branch are how uncomfortable the store is and how the staff don't seem to care about customers safety and security, and even shopping experience with broken down machines and poor, cramped facilities. 1*

Located half way down the moor it's ideal for those who are near by otherwise it's a walk to either tescos or sommerfields. It stocks the main essentials and the most popular ranges; due to its size it can not stock everything. The prices are a little dearer then the larger version of the stores but this happens in all the smaller versions of the supermarkets. The place is often busy around lunchtimes during the week, so expect queues and there never seems to be enough tills opened at these times to accommodate. It has a few deals on but not all the deals that are on in the main larger stores.

This branch of Iceland is located towards the end of Sheffield's Moor Shopping Centre - finding an…read moreIceland branch in the centre of Sheffield quite surprised me, as Iceland stores tend to be more out of town or in smaller towns, compared to larger cities like this one. The store is a little small, but that's quite common for Iceland - I did find the store to feel a little cramped at times, especially considering how close the checkouts were together and how only one was in operation with no self-service option meaning the whole check-out process was rather slow and awkward. The store was a little dirty with items and crushed up boxes on the floor and a fully loaded shopping trolley which was obviously left by staff as it seemed they were using it for storage ahead of putting items on shelves - but there was no one around? I did have issues with prices during my visit, they did have an item labelled the wrong price, I did mention something to the checkout but being in a rush I decided to pay the extra even though it was an increase of 50% as this was the price which they should have charged anyway based on other branches which sell the cheese and jalapeno squeezy spread, and my cashback app would refund me the full amount anyway so it wasn't worth my time to hang around. Slow service, poor cleanliness and incorrect product price labelling give me a lack of good things to stay about this store, apart from how it looks from the exterior which sadly isn't matched through the store interior. 1*
