The range of foods on offer is good - my own favourites are the fabulous date and walnut/cheese and walnut breads and the wonderful lemon smoked mackerel on the fish counter. Very very good, but then every supermarket has its specialities. What I also go to Morrisons for are the low prices, and although not across the board, I would say on average it is the most economical supermarket if you are willing to fill half your trolley with items from their value range. (As most people are, of late!) Also they have a good stock of cardboard boxes readily available, often very handy to have around and helpful for transporting your groceries!

I was brought up in a Morrison's family, and a Morrison's man i shall remain! The only reason that it doesn't have 5 stars is as mentioned above, it looks like it was erected in the 1970's and really could do with the bit of a spruce up. The deli counter is excellent and I'm now even on first name terms with some of the staff there. What more could you want... oh yeah, I already went through that didnt I?

They…read moremay still be located in a shopping centre with quite a few other shops and restaurants such as A Card Factory, Greggs and Subway but this ASDA store does not have a Cafe itself making it a nightmare to do all your things in one place, or find somewhere that avoids cross contamination for Coeliacs like me. I may have said for the Chadderton branch, yes this is okay but the Harpurhey branch does not have it, that is right they do have a nice range of products here but still this isn't a great store. I couldn't even get a bottled water, a member of staff told me they did not have any and for me to go over the road. I am sure a big store like ASDA would have bottled water, the staff could also of been more polite in telling me this or checked for me. It is unlucky to have 1 bad incident with a member of staff but another one in 2 constitutive visits is really disappointing. One thing I do not like about ASDA, Despite being cheaper than Tesco for most things is that they do not have a loyalty scheme like Tesco's Clubcard or The Nectar Card of Sainsburys. This ASDA Does have a large clothes section if you need to look for clothes and get your groceries, you can do both of these in the same place. This ASDA store has a nice range of Gluten Free sausage and even had some on sample, they have The Black Farmer, Heck, Butchers Selection and their own Extra Special range (Avaliable in quite a few interesting flavours!) This ASDA does also have a DVD section and follow the traditional ASDA look for most items such as Milk and Starbucks Frappucinio Beverages at the fridge on the back wall near the DVD and Clothes sections, which strech to the back of the store. This ASDA has a partnership with Cresta Cars, if you use the freephone here you can get a token which gives you 75p off your journey and they do come in a few minutes. Due to the range of some products, I can't give this ASDA one star but I really don't think it deserves more than two. This store has no coffee machine either, a few local ASDA stores do but it seems the store that is desperate for one (no cafe£, doesn't have one.

The offerings range from items found between a Bret and a local pub. I chose the ham and cheese panini with a Coke Zero. My fellow diners chose the fish and chips and other items. As you can see from the picture, the panini appears substantial, however, inside there was only a single slice of cheese and ham. It was a pre-packaged item warmed up in a panini press. I should have known better. The store is quite substantial, so you should find everything you need in one place. All the staff I encountered were first rate and very helpful.

This is a Tesco Superstore in the south of Sheffield offering non-food items as well as the usual…read moreproduce. There's an in-store bakery as well as fish, meat and cheese counters and they also have a chicken roaster. They tend to employ fairly young staff but they are friendly and helpful none the less. There's a free bus that goes to different areas on different days to bring people without transport to this Tesco and back home again. There are also self-service check-outs as well as serviced ones so you can use them to get rid of all your 1ps and 2ps!

The most local shop is the Shell garage down the road, which is just a rip-off for most things. Most of the staff are friendly, even if you do see a lot of new faces.

The service at the checkouts is fast enough and there is a small parking area if you just want to visit the store, without taking up a petrol bay. 3*

Really doesn't put me at ease when I feel the guy's eyes on me as I go up and down the aisles. They stock basic fruits, basic vegetables, basic dairy...everything is just very basic. It'll get you covered if you just need something in a jiffy, but you'd do well to go elsewhere for your main shopping.

Fake snow, big cakes, Denise Van Outen or 'that bloke from Top Gear' stroll around Morrisons looking glossy whilst their signature Take That tune blasts out in the background. If not you will probably have seen one of their 420 stores throughout the UK. They are big, garish and bright yellow. That's the one. I shop in the Morrisons in the city centre on occasion, due to their very low prices and the fact that they stock pretty much everything. But recently I visited the Hunslet branch. The difference, they have a cafe! I was starving. Having had no breakfast whatsoever, my stomach was grumbling like a grumpy old man who had lost his slippers. Food was needed fast. They had a selection of sandwiches, but they were cut into triangles and laid onto cling film covered plates with a handful of crisps and salad. Fair enough, but odd as I expected the usual packaged sarnie. They were also quite sweaty looking, with condensation on the inside of the cling film. Not very enticing. So, I thought, hot food. YUM. But I couldn't see a menu. This is how hot food works. 1. Go to counter one with a display of pictures of various breakfast type hot food. (Sausages, beans, bacon, eggs, toast etc) 2. Choose what you want and tell the lady, she then gives you a green plastic disk with your number on it. (I chose scrambled eggs on toast) 3. Go past coffee machine, grab coffee if required. 4. Go to till, hand second lady green plastic disk with number on, pay and receive a red plastic disk with number on. 5. Find a table, put red plastic disk in the flag-post-thing and await your food. Right. Done. Sip coffee. Extremely milky with hardly any actual coffee in it, cue sleepy effect instead of caffeine buzz required. Bummer. The food arrives within five minutes. Rubbery egg, soggy toast and tasteless tomatoes. Double bummer. Satisfaction: None Wallet: down £3.80

Anyway, my friend and I had a full english breakfast from here and like Alexandra said...rubbery eggs, soggy toast, really unusually hard stale beans....it just wasn't nice. I can't say much for the staff either, they're not very polite or accommodating and seem to be utterly bored of their jobs. Cheap but definitely not cheerful. Spend your money elsewhere.

A pretty large ASDA store and one of the easiest large supermarkets to access from Manchester City…read moreCentre, just hop on the tram at Piccadilly Gardens and get off a couple of stops later at Velopark, which is right outside the supermarket. The location is good, being opposite the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City, do bear in mind on a match-day it can get super busy with football fans and the sale of alcohol to those attending the match is suspended due to police regulations. For such a large store, I do find the product range disappointing, I am never able to get all the items I want to come in for, which are often sold at smaller ASDA stores, which is strange. On a more recent visit, I noticed the few remaining Starbucks Nespresso capsules to be ripped open, it seems people had taken out the capsules and put back the cardboard holder. There is a Supercuts inside the store too, one of their two Manchester locations. There is also a Greggs, Opticians and Pharmacy area. As with any ASDA store, they do offer their Scan and Go app, where you can scan items as you shop and bag them up, using your phone. The staff seem friendly enough too. For such a large store, the product range could certainly be better, but they do offer good facilities and the location is good too, being right opposite what could possibly be the most beautiful football stadium in England in the Etihad Stadium, and being so close to Manchester city centre, whether that be via its' large car park (which also has a Timpson) or via bus or Metrolink services. 4* - Not a bad way to mark my first review in 2021 by upgrading this location from a three-star rating in 2014 to four now!

Bargain, bargain, bargain!…read more It is absolutely great place to find bargain items. Some are really ridiculously cheap price !! I sometimes feel so foolish to pay lots at supermarkets once you go to Home bargain. The shop is fairy big and lots of items are available. They always stock in something new so it is worth to pop in if you have time. The staffs are not that friendly or good customer service but you would not expect these kind of places that much...Fantastic place for credit crunch!
