When we moved five years ago to Wilsonville, one of the highlights of this town are its open spaces and how family-friendly it is. This is just one of many parks in town. It's expansive too! It is located right across the street from the library and they offer so much-- water play (Murase Plaza), structured play, event spaces, nature play, tennis courts, soccer and baseball field, skate park, nature trails, disc golf, and fishing/boat dock. It is also stunning during the fall season with the trees in orange, red, and yellow. Parks and Rec are always maintaining this place. The latest addition to the park is the natural playground, and that is where we took our toddler recently. She LOVED it. She made some friends pretending to fish in the canoe and hang out in the teepees. The sand pit is a big hit too. Whether you're a family visiting or a local, I highly recommend checking this place out.

It's right across the street from the library, which is also another great family-friendly place to frequent. If you're a mom looking to find places where you can let your kids play and get out of the house, this is your spot. There is a little library stand where people can pick a book and give another in return. I love these because it really adds to the sense of community and help share the love for learning/reading. The first play set is more for the younger kids, up to 5 yrs old. The second play set is more for the 5-12yr olds, but as long as you're watching your baby in the bigger kid area, you'll be fine. One thing I like is the seesaw because kids work together to accomplish the seesaw effect. It's a hit! Another great feature is the super long slide! Kids love this as well. They're currently doing construction at the park, adding another neat structure and should be done soon. A few hundred feet away are two bucket swings. I like that the flooring is the recycled rubber unlike the main play area with tan bark. I wish the parks in town didn't have tan bark. It gets everywhere, mushrooms grow in it, and you get splinters. During the summer, you'll see the splash pad turned on for kids to enjoy. It's a great way to have fun outside cooling down from hot summer heat. A lot of kids walk on top of those big blocks and it makes me nervous, so I recommend this for older kids. If you have younger kids, I recommend the Korean Memorial Park splash pad.

Rustic river acess for kayaking, fishing and summer time swimming…read more This park had been here for many a year providing access to the Molalla river. I have seen families basking in the sun or cooling off in the water durring the hot months and I have seen fishermen wadding in trying to catch the prized salmon durring the cold early spring. For Kayakers, there is an old ramp going down the the water. It is not a smooth transition to the water as the bottom of the ramp is missing and also the top is blocked so you will have to carry your craft down to the water. Once in the water it is a cool and beautiful journey down to the Willamette. The pull out on my last trip was the Molalla state park. Summer time is good for that as you may have to portage some areas when the water is low. I haven't floated this part in the spring yet. Maybe this year.

I had to use the restroom while I was there. First, at a park that has a play-set for 2-year-olds (never mind kids who have siblings), there's no baby changing table. And second, there's no soap dispenser. Not just no soap, no way to supply it. There's an air dryer (no towels)...in other words, nothing to keep stocked. But no soap in the restroom? Ew. Otherwise it was fine, seemed well-maintained, etc. But uninspired. If you live close by it's likely worth it, but I wouldn't bother to drive there. The views of the river aren't as good as at lower Memorial Park, and the playground isn't as good as the upper part of Memorial Park.

There isn't much; there's a playground, a historic marker plaque, restrooms (that were oddly clean), plenty of parking and a former boat-launch that is now a very small beach. The park was very clean, quiet and kept up impeccably. Perhaps a good spot to have a picnic or dip your feet in the water, or use the restroom.

This is a nice little neighborhood park with grassy expanses, paved trails, picnic benches, and a…read morenice playset. There are some trees for shade but most of the park is unshaded - on a hot, sunny day it may not be ideal. I think one or two of the picnic tables might be partly-shaded in full sun, but the benches would not be. At least today, and my husband says the other couple times he's been, the lovely-looking grassy areas have been overwatered and a little squishy, even muddy in places, so sitting in the shade under a tree might not work well without a lawn chair. It's bounded on three sides by the back fences/hedges of the houses adjacent to it, the fourth is open to a very quiet residential road (SW Wimbledon Circle S). If you are coming on foot from the north, it may be a slightly shorter walk to take SW Wimbledon Circle N, where there is a little entrance path (paved, with signs at the entry to the park) through from the street between two houses. However, when they are watering near the fence, the paths in that area are in the spray path of the sprinklers.

Theoretically, there is also a free boat dock, but at the time of writing, a very large tree is fallen across it. Restrooms and garbage are maintained by Oregon State Parks. When I visited, it was pretty clean. The trail along the river is very pretty, although I was only able to access about a mile of it before it got too flooded to hike through. I noticed lots of poisonous plants including poison oak, snowberries, and hemlock. But also tons of moss, lichens, and ferns. In addition to the picnic tables in the picnic areas, there were also several solitary tables set out along the river. This is great for a more solitary picnic, taking a break during a long bike ride, or getting some privacy for drawing or Journaling. Overall just about as good as it gets for free.

One trail follows close to the river, and that was nice, with a mix of open sun and shaded forest. The trails were mostly flat dirt or gravel, no strenuous inclines. There's a large off-leash dog exercise area. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash in the rest of the park, but sadly most owners were just letting their dogs run the trails off-leash. They have picnic tables & a good, clean restroom facility as well.

But as soon as you drive in becareful it is one way in the same way out. A lot of young kids come here to play in the Molalla River. It is a one-way once you come in. The bathrooms are within walking distance, but driving distance (again one way) is another way to go. The bathrooms were clean and 2 available. There are picnic areas and a good little walk/hike around the park. We met my nieces up at the lake to soak up some sun and spend some time together. Great place for teaching, skipping rocks, or catching and releasing tadpoles! My sons first experience, and he got really good. I've been informed that this place gets super packed when school is put for summer, and there are a handful of kids around. I also saw them riding boogie boards and a kayak. There was a family who came down to fish but didn't seem like they caught anything. The water is super cold until your body gets used to it. Definitely recommend flip-flops. Rocks are a bit rough in the feet!
