I had Susan come to my home and gave her a list of what I needed her to do as per her contract. I also told her in person that I had two windows slightly open to create a cross-draft and to keep the fans on at all times. I came home to a stuffy, dark hot house that reeked of strong pee and poop. Susan had shut the windows, turned off the fans, and left only the den light on. Litter, cat hair, and other debris were spread all over my living room and kitchen floor; gnats, litter, and cat hair were in their water bowl. She came into my house with dirty shoes and got some kind of dried mud on my foyer mat. Mind you, Susan says she cleaned everything just hours before I arrived home. I also noticed that the two big containers of fresh litter I had left out by their boxes were never used in 18 days. My cats were so traumatized by the conditions they were living in at the height of summer (110 degrees outside) that they were frantic when I walked in. They needed reassurance, affection, and fresh air. I immediately opened the windows, turned on the fans, and fed them. I spent two days airing the stench out of my house and cleaning the mess left behind by Susan. This was animal abuse. I contacted Got Paws via email four times before I got a response from Victoria. She just blew me off and said Susan never had any complaints. She basically said she "knew" Susan cleaned the cat boxes every day, changed the water every day, swept the floors every day, and took great care of my "kitties." It was all gas-lighting, not a hint of dealing with Susan, not a crumb of apology for what my cats endured. THIS COMPANY HAS NO HEART AND IS RUN BY INCOMPETENT LIARS. At one point, she told me her calendar wasn't available, which was frustrating since most of us rely on our phone calendars. While she was texting me that she couldn't check it, it felt off-putting and unprofessional. It's for the safety of Dogs that she can't check her calendar. How is she able to text? I just can't figure out this part. She also told me she would call at 3 PM to confirm availability for a walk three days later but never followed up. When I reached out a few days later, she informed me she was taking a self-care day instead. While I understand the importance of self-care, the lack of communication was disappointing. Additionally, she mentioned she was extremely busy and couldn't do any walks in the morning, with the earliest availability at 2:45 PM. If you're looking for someone with more flexibility or reliability, she may not be the best fit. Then she told me she had the wrong month and actually couldn't fit me in at all so that was a nice kind of blow off. This was really quite an experience. Good luck. lol. (It's always a red flag. When someone only has five stars. I should've listened to my gut.)

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

The first thing they did was greet me with kindness and hand me Kleenex. Such a small gesture, but it meant everything in that moment. They took the time to talk with us about Kaid's life, and right away they felt like family. They were incredibly kind, respectful, and compassionate, making sure Kaid was as comfortable as possible the entire time. They surrounded him with the love he deserved and gave us so much support and comfort too. They thought of everything. When his paws got muddy, they had wet wipes ready. They brought treats and even a blanket to gently rest his head. We also had our other dog there, and they didn't overlook him either. They gave him love and attention so we could focus on saying our final goodbyes. After Kaid passed, they continued to treat him with such gentleness and care. I know I'll replay those final moments in my mind over and over, but I feel at peace knowing how deeply loved and comforted he was. I am so incredibly grateful to Peaceful Pet Services for giving our boy such a loving and peaceful send-off. I truly can't recommend them enough during one of the hardest moments a pet owner can face.
