A DogSports employee told our vet office that Binx had been unable to settle himself all day. Binx was there 8 hours that day, had noted crate anxiety, employees were aware he was in distress, and NO ONE CALLED until he has passed away. He was found in his crate dead, with vomit and diarrhea. Other PUBLIC information, the owner of the DogSports, Joanne Reaney, was charged with 35 counts of theft for allegedly embezzling $517k from her employer years ago. I'm not an attorney, but the court of common pleas document looks like an agreement was made for payback to potentially avoid the felony charge/jail time (PA criminal law Rule 586). In addition, more PUBLIC information, there is an open state tax lien on the business and there appears to be more than 10 open civil cases (with monetary judgments of over $100k due). It also appears that the owner lives over an hour away, out of state. No pre-dog camp interview is performed on your dog. You just show up and hope your dog is taken care of. In some cases, like mine, your pup doesn't return home after their visit.

If you're looking to support a local business, definitely come and visit Tammy. She's got an array of different items for you and your pup (or kitty!). It reminds me of a mom and pop shop. She is very friendly and knowledgeable of dogs and products that she has available. If you have a request for a certain item she will see if she can order it for you or find something similar. Now to the part that really matters. My pup was diagnosed with renal failure a couple months ago. She and I had talked about this when I would bring Skip by when Wizard was in the hospital. She was empathetic to my plight and I could see that her heart was breaking just as mine was. She got out a book that had various medical conditions so I could read about how renal failure affects dogs and what you can do and what the vet recommends etc... what chain store would do that for you? None that I know of... All the pups that visit have a special place in her heart too. It's not just a business. It's family.

I have a dog who is terrified of the vet and she is always willing to take her white coat off and get down on the floor with him to make him feel comfortable before even trying to start the exam! I am greatly appreciative of her time, her generosity, and the care she has for the animals and their owners. Aside from her amazing animal skills, Dr. Riehl is great with people too. She takes her time during every visit and makes sure all of my questions and concerns are addressed while giving lots of great information and taking the time to ensure I understand. The first time I met Dr. Riehl we connected instantly and knew she was the vet for my animals. She provided me solutions for my animals that no other vet would do and it makes me feel welcomed and valued here. I also want to give props to all the other employees here. Everyone at Neffsville contributes to the positive experience I have every time I come in and you can tell they love their jobs, and the people and animals that walk through their door. They had a fire (which was unfortunate) so we were forced to go to another vet for shots and a checkup while they were closed, and Neffsville didn't answer their phones so it was almost impossible to get records transferred. Our dog now needs an allergy shot, and they won't do it unless we pay for another vet checkup when we had one at the other vet a few months ago when they were closed. The woman we spoke to was incredibly rude during the experience. I would definitely avoid this place as it's going downhill.

Hey Josh, I just…read morewanted to say thank you for the awesome customer service you have given us over the last two years. My wife and I lead complicated lives... We have three rescue dogs, none of which trust strangers. We also have a young, rare breed dog, with severe anxiety issues that trusts strangers even less than the three rescues. When I first met you and told you this, you didn't bat an eye. You recommended training for our puppy with the anxiety issues; we enrolled her, and she passed with flying colors. You also took care of the three rescue dogs with an equal amount of care and concern. Both my wife and I travel fairly extensively for work, and you have (multiple times!) saved us when a last-minute work trip came up. Again, our lives our complicated so here is what you would do... Two of our rescue dogs cannot leave the home because they think they are going to be abandoned again (severe abuse and abandonment issues in their previous lives). To take care of this you had one of your staff come to our home and take them out three times per day. Prior to that, you made sure that the same staff member came over to our home to make sure our dogs would be comfortable with him. Additionally, you kept our "anxious" dog in your kennel and even enrolled her in doggy daycare. Her attitude has drastically changed since then. She is still a little weirdo but is much more confident since she has been watched by you and your staff. You even let our pit bull, who is super sweet but generally gets a bad rap because of her breed, play with her in doggy day care. They have both loved the day care experience, and we both have noticed a distinct change in their behaviors every time they come home from being watched by you guys. There has never been an issue with fighting or any other aggressive behavior because you guys keep such close supervision over the dogs, and you let us know any time there might be a potential issue. Unfortunately, we are moving this week, and we will truly miss everything you and your business has done for us. You have been a great friend to us, and I honestly don't know what my wife and I would have done had you and your business not been in Harrisburg. Thanks again, and I hope our paths cross again soon!
