My dog pooped when he went in the door because he's always nervous when he gets groomed. My daughter-in-law Kim comes with me to take our dogs. Kim picked up Harley's poop & put it in a plastic bag that was provided. Because there was no container right outside the door (by the steps) like there normally is, Kim put the bag with poop on the counter. Tosha went off on Kim about putting the plastic bag on the counter & said for her to walk up to the entrance at the top of the hill to put it in the yellow garbage bin. Tosha continued yelling & even used the "F" word & said we're lucky that she didn't throw the poop bag on my car. I have never experienced that kind of treatment by any other employee at the Doggie Lodge & today will be my last day as a customer with 2 dogs. These bastards turned her into a freaking Mexican hairless. Shaved to the skin. WTF! Really, if a wanted a pet rat, I would have gotten one from the dumpster. Although I love my dog, Im embarrassed to be seen in public with her. I have to keep her inside because the Sun will burn her exposed skin. They told me it would take around 3 hrs to finish with her, but 40 minutes later I get a call that she is finished. My wife comes home with her and is pissed at me for making the appt. Plus she left a 15% tip before seeing the dog. Happy Tails ... I say Happy Trails. Would it really have been so hard to do what I requested. Well, another customer gone. I had some reservations about a spay surgery after a bad experience at a local clinic. Dr. Aubrey Vena and Dr. Johanna Vena made sure to ease any worries I had and made sure Itty Bitty, my cat, had all the pre-op testing she needed. Her post-surgery care was also impressive. They provided options to make sure her stitches stayed clean and dry, medication for pain and meds to manage her asthma also, all while handling my cat's overdramatic tendencies with ease! I can't recommend them enough, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

If they would have turned me away like others who don't accept new patients my lil helpless dog would have not survived another day. What a blessing they were for us today. Our most recent visit was with Dr. Grace Takacs who treated our dog for a paw infection thoroughly examining the injury, getting images of a suspicious area that may be cancer, and prescribing antibiotics as well as pain medication to ensure he wasn't suffering. Not just the vets, but entire staff from receptionists, pharmacy, and administration at this practice is so professional. We hope we can stay with this practice forever because we are reassured each visit when they so lovingly and competently care for our pets.

To the left of the door there were two crates, one on top of the other. I was told to take everything off my dog (an 11 year old Shitzu/Lasa Apso mix) and put him in a crate. Both crates had towels in them with visible clumps of dog hair and the bottom crate had urine in it.) The owner of the business was finishing up clipping a small dog and ignored me when I said my dog was terrified of crates and had severe separation anxiety. She basically said he would be fine. I should have taken my dog and left right then but he was way overdue for a trim. We had kept him away from other dogs because our other dog had cancer and we did not want to risk him bringing any illness home to her. (He is vaccinated but our other dog's vaccines could not be continued due to her illness. She had to be euthanized two weeks ago). I was texted to pick him up a little over an hour later. He was frantic when I got there. The two women there basically ignored me as I tried to calm him enough to get his harness and leash on. Payment was $50 and cash only. Nowhere was it posted that it was cash payment only. Thankfully I had just enough in my wallet. After payment, the two women turned their backs and both looked the one women's phone. My dog was so frantic that he panted the entire way home, threw himself from the back seat to the front, got on the floor of the passenger side and repeatedly went from the seat to the floor, panting excessively. As far as the actual grooming - he was still damp, he was shedding and his beard was still long and stained. The clipping was uneven. If I could give this business a zero, I would.
