Shrimp and grits were very flavorful, quite good, and the beer was cold just like it should be. My husband loved his iced tea and dinner. His dinner disappeared so fast I don't remember what he ordered, it was that good. The real standout here was the service. I wish I'd gotten her name so I could call her out publicly - we asked to be seated in the bar area to be in the window and to be warm in the sun, and that was just perfect. Our server was taking care of all the tables on the bar side of the restaurant. She was seating people. She also was re-setting tables and manning the bar somehow. Brilliantly, professionally, and cheerfully. She was probably doing even more behind the scenes, like a superwoman.

Then my server asked if we would like to have desert and let me say this, when I see bread pudding it's a must for me and at 62 years of age, this hands down was the best bread pudding and also at the next level it was deep fried with vanilla ice cream, a caramel sauce and a smooth dollop of what tasted like homemade whipped cream and let me keep the theme going, it was next level.... Came in for breakfast while visiting Ponce de Leon Springs park for the weekend. This place is…read moregreat! We will be back tomorrow morning for sure; the staff is top notch, super helpful and friendly. The food is hot, fresh, and the portion sizes are just right. He: chicken and waffles with a side of breakfast potatoes and a sausage link. She: two eggs over easy, bacon, grits and a biscuit. Both meals were delicious. Biscuits are golden brown on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside. They hold up when you cut them in half and add butter. Bacon is cooked through but not burnt and is a nice medium thickness. The eggs were cooked perfectly which NEVER happens when we ask for over easy. Grits were a little thinner than I like but still nice. The waffle was golden and fluffy and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. The chicken was good; not super juicy but it wasn't "dry" either, the pieces were small so overcooking is tough to avoid, but the breading was good in terms of seasoning and it wasn't "all bread" and no chicken. Potato wedges were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The coffee was very fresh and if you're into coffee you know what I mean. Not too strong and not too weak, just a good "morning" cup of joe. The dining room is clean as a whistle and the bathrooms are, too. New flooring, fresh paint and it's obvious they take pride in their place.
