Adding to this, I was told I could call the billing office to resolve my issues and get a refund. They said they'd talk to the Columbia office. Within a day. I apologized for the oversight and respectfully asked whether I could return with the disc at a later time and still be seen by the doctor. The office manager interrupted her telephone conversation and responded in an unnecessarily rude and dismissive tone, stating, "You just have to make another appointment. He can't see you without the disc." She declined to allow me to see Dr. Cohen and further stated that I did not have the right to see the doctor without the required materials and that "he is very much aware of how this office works." ( She boasted about being the office manager for over 14 years) She then concluded the interaction by saying, "If there is nothing else, you can leave now." I understand that there may be office policies or medical requirements regarding the MRI disc. However, I believe patients should be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect, particularly when addressing an honest mistake. The manner in which this situation was handled was unnecessarily discourteous and left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. I am requesting that this matter be addressed with the appropriate office or company Foot and Ankle of MD leadership. While I understand and respect the need to follow medical protocols, I do not believe those policies justify speaking to a patient in a disrespectful or condescending manner. There was minimal wait between who saw me. I came in for the Swift Microwave therapy on a plantar wart. I had already done cryotherapy once…read moreand the " beetle juice" poison twice with other Podiatrists because those doctors did not perform the Swift.procefure. Everything I read about Swift in Maryland is that the procedure is between $150-$300 per session of which there are 3-4 needed. Price I was quoted per session...$580!!!!! So, I paid the $580 and tried to figure out how to pay another $1200 for two more. Because I had the other procedures prior, I figured I would only need one session. He says " forget the other work, you need 3-4 sessions. That's $1800 for 3 sessions on top of the $1200 I had already spent on other procedures! $3000 for a wart!?!?! I called around and yes, other Podiatrist charge average $250/session for Swift Procedure. The fee is paid out of pocket. They are MORE than double the average Maryland price per session. What should cost $750 for 3 turns into $1740 for same 3 Swift procedures with Laurel Foot and Ankle...AND THIS IS LAUREL, MARYLAND!!! Take that extra $1000 you would save going elsewhere.

Fortunately, Dr. Goldstein is one of the best doctors I've met. She is approachable, takes time to answer your questions, and talks to you like a peer. She's also good at her craft, which is always a plus. The staff here is always friendly and amiable. They have a great attitude and are always very helpful. The office is very clean and the location is very convenient. I'm not stoked that I have to see a podiatrist, but I'm very glad it's this one.
