It is in fact a small but well stocked newsagents. They stock a wide selection of newspapers and magazines as well as confectionary and tobacco products. You can also pay the Idiot Tax (ie play Lotto) here. In the Summer they usually have a couple of racks of cheap paperbacks outside which presumably accounts for the name. It is a handy shop if you're at the bottom end of town and don't fancy a hike up to Smiths to buy a paper, although if you're looking to buy a book I'd try Bookwise which is just across the road. It's close to the railway station and coach park so no doubt they pick up quite a bit of passing trade from passing travellers.

Always lots of top authors - Tom Clancy, John Connolly, Mark Billingham etc etc - at the cheapest prices I've seen. Basically they sell heavily discounted books and craft materials. There's everything from hardback to paperback and from novels to biography and reference books to kids books (my daughter loves this shop). It is a great place to buy gifts because not only is there a wide choice of items but you'll find some real bargains. The only downside (and it's obvious why) is that you won't find new chart books here. Definately worth a browse.

This is a real antiquarian bookstore in Wales. There are Welsh titles, but mostly English-language…read morebooks. Probably 100% of the items on the shelves would be "treasures" for a buyer with the right interests. When I visited, there were 3 copies (!!!) of the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales (a treasure by any standard) on the shelves. Unfortunately for me, the items are priced according to their value: the Myvyrian Archaiology ranged from around £300 for a plain binding of the 1870 edition to around £800 for the three-volume 1801-07 edition. This is not a place to find bargains on antique books but, if you want to find a rare book, your chances of finding it here are good. On-street parking in Llandudno is a very dicey business. The traffic is surprisingly heavy, considering the town is literally on the way to nowhere.

CHECK YOUR CHANGE, they short changed me by £1, when i went in there for a drink and 3 weeks later…read morethey short changed my daughter by £5, i gave her £10 to get a couple of drinks while we used the laundrette and she came back with only £3.58, and 2 cans of coke, cant complain once you leave the shop but will never go there again, ive spoken to others who have also been short changed, they have lost me as a customer now and i walk past them to go to one shop instead,
