I do agree with other comments that there was no staff on the shop floor, I get Waterstones is a chain but one of the best parts about a book store is being able to get that personalised service which you can't with online giants such as Amazon where you can talk to staff members and get recommendations about the latest books etc, I do think that is sort of lost here which is a shame. Satisfactory selection of books and the store does look pretty good, let down by a lack of staff and a slow lift, this is still one of the few bookstores within the city however so if you're looking for books in Leicester, you'll most likely be coming here. 3*

It's a bit weird and can lead to irritating queues in bizarre places. This is a multi-floored WH Smiths like any other. Magazine and newspapers abound on the ground floor and as ever it can be impossible to reach the mag you want through all the avid 'browsers' reading their way through several tenners worth of magazines. The stationery, gift wrap, card and craft sections are useful but often lack competitive pricing with somewhere like Staples, but Smith's is in a more convinient location so I guess you pay for that.

The main reason I still visit the store is because they still have an unbeatable selection of magazines to browse and purchase, but other than this, I can't think of anything they offer that somewhere nearby doesn't offer at a better price.

They do have a manned counter but this never seems to be in use, in favour of self-service machines, again this is one of the things which confuses me most about WHSmith as self-service machines isn't too good for the non-tech savvy elderly. 3* - Pretty good location for the NEC, Railway Station and Airport, but do plan ahead if you can to avoid this one.

It really is a one -stop shop and they have a huge range of magazines, including specialist ones that are difficult to find elsewhere, as well as newspapers, sweets, stationary and cards. This is also where the main post office is too - so expect big queues around peak times. I usually go around 3 or 4pm if I can, and find that the queues have pretty much disappeared by then. A really handy shop, with friendly, helpful staff. A huge asset to the town and a shop many of us cannot do without!

The prices are not too expensive, although not the cheapest place to buy stationery, but if you are looking to buy a range of stationery related products then you may be able to get them under one roof here to save time shopping around.

Expect to get mud on your shoes and clothing getting inside. Getting out onto the busy main road you will need your St Christopher and a lot of faith. There is a cafe inside that has to be double the price of similar locations. The food is very tasty and the drinks are nice but its not a cheap date. It is also popular with locals that have little to no interest in the books. Outside in the parking area, destroying valuable parking space, are five or six 20' shipping containers that reportedly contain a fresh selection of books. One of them was here when I last visited in 2020. It must be difficult to unload them?

What a fantastic place, and no it definitely is not a charity shop. They have tens of thousands of books, covering all subjects and in great condition. This is a place for collectors as well as general buyers. Pricing is very reasonable and the staff chatty and friendly. Somebody was trying to give books away whilst I was there but the owner explained that they have lots in storage and have to pay to dispose of books that they cannot sell on. One of the best secondhand bookshops I have ever been to, highly recommended.
