I have always been curious about the building and have always admired the vintage neon sign out front. That first time I passed by was now about 16 years ago. And until recently I had never been in. As with any review of a funeral home, it comes under unfortunate circumstances. I did not personally work with the team at Ridout's since I was there for the passing of a friend's parent. So the review is based on the building itself. It was very easy to park and the inside was very nice. Plenty of room for a line to form. And they had water and tissues readily available. It seems like a really good facility for such a tough time.

Check in as to why, no rhyme or reason, just confusion. Paid to have it completed correctly July (6months later) nothing. Now it has almost been a year and no response. I think it is sad that some folk alive or not (alive) seem to be put on the back burner as if life doesn't matter. They (Elmwood) are highly respected in the community, and we as a family put the care of our loved one in their hands, and they fumbled. Not happy and would not suggest communicating via phone or email and if in person speak with the man over the man. They do not collaborate very well as a team. Sad and simply distraught. This should be a time of rest, yet my family and I are trying to figure out the "why". No excuses, no exceptions, no more, I will get back with you (and don't). This is unacceptable!

Briefly: My brother and I had not visited my grandparents'…read more graves in 20 years. Even with a map and coordinates, we could not find the site. We received remarkable assistance from Don Olvey, who physically walked us to the gravesite. The gravesite and the whole cemetery is certainly well kept.
