This detracts somewhat as there are often empty shops. However, in recent months it seems to have picked up a lot and I am back to enjoying my shopping experience with them. Especially at Christmas as they have carols etc and it all feels a little Dickensian! You can always find quirky presents and sit in the cafe and watch the world go buy. Good wheelchair access and a lift to the upper floor. At least as it is enclosed you don't get wet! Always a bonus.

Several of the smaller units on one of the strips have closed down and construction has just started to turn this space into one large unit taken by Next which will be great as the Next we currently have resembles a broom cupboard!! MK One has closed down and with Adams reportedly in trouble, new businesses could be filling these units. hopefully sooner than later. It has craft stalls around the upper mall during certain times of the year and has a good feeling to the place.

There are some very good special offers and famous names in clothes and electricals at fantastic prices.they have sweets and household items. There was one big disappointment---they stopped selling curtain fabrics which they had long been famous for. I couldn't believe it at first and assumed it was being moved.Then I tried stores in other towns and they had stopped too.

The layout of the store did seem a little strange, which could be down to the building its-self, you have to pass through the Cafe, and then a set of doors after going out of the lift on the Basement, to get into the Menswear section, despite having five floors, each individual floor was not overly large, with the top floor being just "customer services", but the store was a reasonable size overall. I did notice some of the clothing sections to be a little laid out like a jumble sale, they did have some good items at reasonable prices though, so not a wasted trip by any means. The Ground Floor was nicely laid out, and perhaps the most welcoming and premium area of the store, showcasing a range of fragrances and beauty products. The opening hours are pretty draconian, so plan ahead, they are open between 10 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday and do not open on Sundays. I probably wouldn't return, but a nice addition to the shopping scene in Harrogate's town centre. 3*

I am a 71 year old disabled pensioner with myriad health problems and a tiny assistance dog in a small pram which is a walking aid for me. I was treated in a bad way on the floor selling cutlery which was expensive but which I wanted to purchase.The young assistant had a couldn't care less attitude.So I walked away without saying anything as I am very polite. I approached the duty manager on my way out who totally misconstrued what I said to him. I have spent thousands of pounds in Binns over many years even when it was open in Middlesbrough.In this time of economic recession I am GLAD they are allowed to be rude so they won't miss my custom.A couple outside saw my distress and comforted me.He needs to remember NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE OBVIOUS.As the nice Lady outside said 'Poor communication skills are paramount in all walks of life'.I will never go there again.

There are plenty of fashions available for all ages both male and female as well as a good home department which sells furniture. It's easily accessible from the high street, and it's right near Captain Cooks Square. The basement has a cafe and mens wear. The ground is makeup, accessories, shoes and bags (essential for us girls!). I would definitely recommend the shoe department here especially at sale time, there are some really nice shoes and heels often more than half price, I got some coast heels for about £70, a bargain I thought! The first floor is younger womens fashion with oasis, coast and warehouse, it's quite pricy usually but hit it at sale time for really good reductions, especially in the coast and warehouse sections. Childrens section is also on this floor. The second floor is older womens fashion but for the younger don't be put off as there are often some good bargains lurking about. The third floor is china, the fourth homeware and the fifth beds. It's a really nice organised shop with generally helpful staff. It's a very posh awe inspiring place but it's good to shop at, just make sure you look out for sale dates!
