Victoria Shopping Centre is a small shopping centre, serving the town centre of Harrogate…read more It is a fairly small shopping centre but does still have a fair number of stores including Next, Sports Direct, WHSmith, HMV, New Look and Poundland, as well as hosting the town's only branch of Starbucks. The layout of the mall is easy to follow, many of the stores are in the exterior part of the mall, with TK Maxx taking up the whole of the top floor. They do close at 6 pm Monday to Saturday, and at 4:30 pm on Sundays, so do plan ahead if planning to visit in the afternoon. The building the mall is housed in is actually reasonably grand and impressive from the exterior, but in terms of the interior, it's nothing too impressive or easy on the eye in the main retail area. 3* - They have some good brands here, but the selection is small in general, it's a shame the stores that are located in the outside area of the mall don't have better protection from the elements and do close at the same time as the indoor part with no good reason.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, the Victoria Shopping Centre is a lovely old building, that…read morecontains a fairly smallish, but nice selection of high street shops, with a huge TK Maxx on the top floor that should not be missed! Other shops in the centre include, La Senza, Julian Graves, New Look, WH Smith, H&M, Athena and the wonderful Cornish Pasty Shop. The centre is well laid out, with both escalators and lifts to move between the 4 floors (the top floor is purely TK Maxx, and the bottom floor New Look (and an external entrance to JJB). All in all, worth a visit if you're in the Harrogate area, the centre is centrally situated, and is near both the railway and bus stations.

Several of the shops are meant to be discounted and some do seem to have sale prices a lot of the time but I wouldn't really describe it as chock full of bargains by any means. There's a food court which overlooks a pretty marina with its assortment of yachts and boats. A MacDonalds on the outskirts and a Costa Coffee within the village itself add to the eating and drinking possibilities. I'd describe it as a nice place to visit for a morning or afternoon out if you're in the area but you may be disappointed if you travel many miles to shop here as it doesn't compare to serious shopping venues such as the Trafford Centre and in all honesty I don't think it would make any claim to.

It's got the essential M&S and Next Clearance though, so I was happy enough! The play area is a massive bonus for those of us with men and kids: one place to dump them both for a couple of hours of shopping in peace! It's not the best in the world but it is perfectly adequate and if it's somewhere you don't visit often then there would be plenty to keep the kids amused. I liked the fact that at the end there's a sort-of marina, so you can watch the boats (ok, I only did it for about 2 minutes then got bored and went to buy chocolate in Thorntons instead, but I liked the idea of it). Definitely worth a visit if you're having a good old British holiday in Blackpool and want a bit of civilized retail therapy.

And that's just what Broads and Booths is. Plus it holds great nostalgia for me, a pair of my friends used to busk outside it when I was working as a chambermaid at Squire's. We'd spend the morning making moolah and count our cash in hand earnings to spend at Aqua in the afternoon after lunch. Ah, those weekends. The irresponsibility of youth. Part of the Beales group, Broads has survived for eons in its convenient location and sells everything you could need, from fashion accessories for men and women to clothes, soft furnishings to gifts, fine fragrances and cosmetics, there's a cookshop and a bed and bathshop and a restaurant and café for when your legs refuse to carry you any longer. You can even order all your lovely things online too. It's kind of like the Southport equivalent of Harrods or Lewis's, obviously on a much smaller and simpler scale but that's how much it's shaped the Southport landscape. Definitely worth a browse.

I am a 71 year old disabled pensioner with myriad health problems and a tiny assistance dog in a small pram which is a walking aid for me. I was treated in a bad way on the floor selling cutlery which was expensive but which I wanted to purchase. The young assistant had a couldn't care less attitude. So I walked away without saying anything as I am very polite. I approached the duty manager on my way out who totally misconstrued what I said to him. I have spent thousands of pounds in Binns over many years even when it was open in Middlesbrough. In this time of economic recession I am GLAD they are allowed to be rude so they won't miss my custom.A couple outside saw my distress and comforted me.He needs to remember NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE OBVIOUS.As the nice Lady outside said 'Poor communication skills are paramount in all walks of life'.I will never go there again.
