I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger & received a perfectly medium cooked patty with a pile of tasty fries. The burger was seasoned well & cooked to perfection, I was quite pleased with the flavor & constitution of the entire thing. The textures of the soft bun with the crispy bacon & crunchy produce worked nicely with the grilled beef patty. The fries were also something to write home about. They were cooked to a beautiful golden crisp & salted generously. I washed the feast down with a couple mugs of a local tap beer called Karhu, it was a flavorful amber. Sports Academy only offers 5 beers on tap. But, a plethora of bottled beer is available. They also offer a decent selection of spirits for harder drinks. The venue could use a few more TV's considering it is a sports bar. The interior & bathrooms could use some updating. The bathroom was dingy & dirty. Head to the bar to place your order & be sure to grab utensils & condiments before returning to your table. The entire meal & drinks were a good value which was quite a surprise. I had read Finland was going to be the most expensive stop on my trip to Scandinavia & Russia. I would dine here again.

I recommend bringing your passport as that is the most common form of ID that is accepted for entrance. I would come back for some suds. The atmosphere was good as always, even though the Finns doesn't seem to be that interested in the tournament, which might be due to the own teams failure to qualify. Anyhow. The problem was mostly the food. Ordered the double cheese burger and got two pre-made patties that seemed to have been made not upon me ordering them, but probably earlier the same (hopefully) day. Too hungry to mention this at the restaurant, I devoured the burger and tried to forget about it. However, the next day I went to one of the competing sport pubs and had a great burger (see next review), which made me decide to not go back until Oleary's starts to at least make their own burgers. Too bad. I like the place otherwise, but paying three times as much as one would at McDonalds, and getting a burger that is less satisfying does not work for me.

Nice long bar and a decent beer choice and also lots of television sets around to watch a game. The only waiter I saw was for the Texas poker tables. Beer was about 8 euros. You need to check you jacket and ID to get in. If your a foreigner, bring your passport or you won't get in. There is a bar lounge area inside. Heard there was poker tournament on Sundays. Downstairs where the poker table was, also doubles as a sports bar with TVs all around. Not bad overall. Would I go again. Yeah I would. Also heard it's the law. All the profit from the casino goes to charities.
