I love it and I hate it I just can't tell you why, maybe cause there's tons of baking soda in the middle of the pie. I don't think I can come back it's just not worth my time. We went to Vrentino after reading a lot of positive reviews about it. I ordered a limonada to drink which was refreshing on this hot morning. To eat we got the chilaquiles (aka Al Despertar) which were good but nothing special. They have a lovely patio outside with a lot of beautiful greenery and a fountain so I recommend sitting outside. A beautiful restaurant with beautiful food. It's small and can be busy, but everything here is delicious. They're well known for their baked goods: bread and huge 1 plate cinnamon rolls, but we prefer to the omelettes, benedicts and chilaquiles. It's Mexican with a twist. Very much recommended for brunch or a leisurely breakfast as the service can be slower than most Mexican restaurants, but it's worth the wait. We wished we could have tried more items on the menu such as the buttermilk chicken, and the steak, but our bellies and our wallet would not allow us to. Once you are done with the main course be sure to save a bit of room for a cinnamon roll, or a piece of cake. Both of which were very tasty. Service (4 stars) - The service here was great. They did not go above and beyond, but they were prompt and courteous with their service. Value (4 stars) - It wasn't cheap, but not quite expensive. This is my favorite "go to" place to eat in La Paz. Whether we stop for fresh baked goods (banana bread and coffee cake my favorite, often still warm out of the oven) and coffee to go on the way to the beach, or eat there for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food is consistently very good! At dinner time, the meat entrees are cooked on the "big green egg" grill. So flavorful and fresh! We love to sit outside in the courtyard and watch and smell the food being prepared. He gave us clear directions to where we were headed. We decided to stay for a meal based on the ambience, menu, and the amazing beach view. We had one of the tastiest meals in Baja California. Ordered the gringo sandwich & pancakes. One word....delicioso! Our waitress was attentive, helpful and super sweet. After our yummy meal, the owner was kind enough to lead us to our destination to ensure we didn't get lost again. He even gave us bottled water for our beach adventure. This place has been one of the most amazing places I have had food at here in la paz. From the first step at the door, you are greeted and seated right away. The servers are very kind and quick at getting some kind of pastry or drink in your belly so you can peacefully order some more amazing food. I have been here twice now because i wanted to give other places in the area a chance but this one was always in the back of my mind as somewhere I wanted to try again. It is a very small cafe hidden in between a beauty salon and a hotel with a beautiful view of the malecon. Not only is the outside view aweeemazing but the view inside going towards the restroom is just mesmerizing. The food is even better and feels healthier than any other restaurant I've been to.
