I am pleased to have discovered Café La Choya, a great place to buy freshly roasted artisan coffee. It is a family owned and operated business, the result of years of hard work, learning and investment. They have great pride in their selection of coffee beans which are shipped green from various coffee growing mountainous regions of Mexico such as Veracruz, Chiapas, Oaxaca and Nayarit.
La Choya carefully roasts the beans daily to ensure the best flavor.
It may be a short distance from the famous boardwalk (Malecón), but if you want a great cup of java, want to take home some packages of Mexican coffee to enjoy or give as gifts to friends, this is the place.
The building is small, simple, cozy, and open in the front. I loved the artwork on the wall.
I was warmly greeted by the staff and attended to in an efficient yet friendly manner that made me feel appreciated.
They also have several specialty coffee beverages such as cappuccino and lattes, but not all the extra fluff offered at their starry competitors.
A single restroom (clean) is available to the left as you enter.
Instead of another seashell souvenir I am taking home coffee. It sure won't gather any dust at my house. :) read more
