After eating tacos for every meal for three days, I needed something different. And being Asian…read morefrom New York, I craved some Asian food. Let's just say that Chinese food is not easy to find in Mexico City if you're not looking for a buffet. We finally came across Ah-Un which is basically pan Asian. As a general rule of thumb, don't ever eat sushi at a place that has no customers. If the fish is not moving then you're asking to be sick. There was also a smell coming from the bar which smelled like old alcohol. It's not fish but it gives you an idea of the cleanliness. We decided to get the katsu don and the pad Thai. Two cooked dishes that seemed like a safe choice. The pad Thai wasn't bad. It tasted like the dish should taste and was a large serving. The katsu don was not as good. The katsu was dry and the rice was tasteless. I mean it didn't even taste like white rice. It just wasn't good at all. At the end, we were just glad to eat something other than tacos.

We ordered way too much food and I wished I had an extra stomach to devour all of it. I ordered the…read moreRainbow Roll and he had the spicy salmon roll. Both were super fresh and delicious but not spicy at all. I also ordered the noodle soup which ended up being gigantic but the broth and noodles were perfect for a rainy day. They have a full bar including featured cocktails and beer and wine. The service is prompt and the food was high quality. You may think you shouldn't eat this while in Mexico given it isn't Mexican food but I think you should! Tasted just as authentic as a Japanese Restaurant in California!

This is my favorite place to go for ramen in Mexico City (although technically the state of Mexico)…read morebecause the chef is LEGIT Japanese and food is ALWAYS on point! We've been going for months and is our little oasis in this side of Mexico City. I always get the Miso Ramen but the locally-inspired Macho Ramen has the spicy-ness to please Mexican tastes. The pork is always perfectly grilled and the soup has an amazingly deep flavor. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. Wash it all down with some Regular or Orange Calpis and you've got one satisfying meal. The only part that sucks is the hours that they're open (1-7pm from Tuesday-Sunday at the time of this review). But just like any legit ramen shop, everything is super fresh when it is open. I highly recommend this place if you want a legit bowl of ramen. It's especially good if you've been visiting or living in Mexico for some time and crave some good Asian food. My wife and I make it out to La Oishi whenever we can! For those of you who are visiting the nearby pyramids of Teotihuacán and craving Asian food, this is the place to go! But make sure you check the hours first! For those of you in the city, it might be kind of a drive, but totally worth it if you haven't found anything else like it! Oh and the prices are VERY affordable! Miso Ramen runs you around 95 pesos (~$5 USD)
