I've been a client of Voya for years and wanted to give them a big a thumbs up for amazing customer service and advice!

Absolute scam of a company. Given the run around on getting signed receipts from providers that weren't necessary then a deadline changed due to me changing companies but I wasn't informed of that, was directed on how to fill out the paperwork without any note of that change of date, and submitted multiple times paperwork they couldn't find in their system. They run out the clock and keep your money. All denied. Appeals, approved or denied by their own internal group, sent in 40 pages of paperwork, denied. I'm contacting the attorney general in my state. This is in practice a scam company. My account still has my balance there in their portal, they say it just doesn't exist anymore in their system. Their call center staff laughed and thought it was funny when I said i had sent in 40 pages of paperwork. Another staff made me get signatures from a school closed for the summer and I later discovered the signatures weren't even needed. Given direction and how to fill out forms for receipts and told I had until the 30th of September back in May, then submitting it is suddenly past deadlines I received no notice of. This is a scam. I'm sending over my meticulous notes on the obstruction throughout to the Attorney General of my state. read more

worst financial for. 401k. I have had the account for over 2 years and never logged in online, I never received a pin. called and they sent me 2 pins in email, both didn't work, tried to verify myself with name and ssn. website said info was incorrect. called back and customer service couldn't access my account. was to.d there is a "disruption " in my account and they will transfer to disruption dept and would take 3-5 days to resolve. called back 5 days later because I haven't heard from them. was told that my case wasn't even looked at yet and a supervisor was in charge of handling it. as soon as I have access to my account, I'm taking all my money out and putting it into another financial institution. this is bad when you need your money and can't get it due to company personnel are lazy and slow. I have been trying to access my account for over a month. but nobody cares! read more

Literally holding my 401k account hostage, so yeah I would not recommend them. I've worked with at least three different 401k providers and this one is the worst. read more

Voya customer services consistently falls short of professional. Simple questions regarding retirement get you put on hold indefinitely. They do not process customer requests regarding withholding taxes and other basic everyday requests. They are a poor partner for company 401K plans and I can't wait until the day when I can move my investments to a professional firm/partner. I've talked to them twice this week and customer service would be less than a zero based on my two calls. read more

I filed a claim in October for an accident that is covered by my accident insurance, a little over a week ago I became alarmed at the amount of time it is taking to complete the processing of the claim as associates have stated it takes 24-48 hours after receiving documents. In October I uploaded the documents they asked for. 3 associates in a row have stated. 1. They would notate the file that the documents have been received so they could process the claim. 2. That I would receive a call back within 24 hours. Neither has happened on 3 calls and the last guy stated they didn't have the necessary paperwork. When I stated, yes, you do, he said that document is 64 pages, it would take.... Then he again promised me that I could, "Rest Assured" it would be processed in the next 24 hours. I just want what I paid for, I want them to review the documents and reimburse me per policy guidelines. I would at this point also love an attorney to review my policy against my surgery. I wrote a Better Business Bureau complaint tonight. If you want a company that lets it's employees straight up lie to you and that you have to write complaints to BBB and everyone else you can think of to get them to deliver what they promise, this company is for you. read more

Attention: Do not invest with this company. The customer service is the worst I have encountered anywhere. Their software system is not functional. I got locked out of my online access. They deleted my account information. I am not able to get a customer service agent to assist me. I may need to register a complaint with the state or federal government. read more

Run away! Please just take this advise... do NOT sign up to services with this awful company. You will physically have to argue and fight just to get access to your funds. If you enjoy hours in the phone, multiple sign in issues, ineffective customer service, and just generally a feeling of lack of control over your finances, then maybe this is for you after all. If I could give Voya Financial negative stars, I absolutely would. Incompetent, uncaring, and most certainly not a good steward for my retirement funds. It's a long story, but through their poorly designed internal software system, a check that we desperately need is now floating out in the ether somewhere because they sent it to me via the USPS. No tracking information, nothing. Upon contacting their support team to see how they were going to make us whole again was a simpering, breathy, "Sorry, there's nothing we can do. Have a nice day!" If your employer uses Voya, ask them to switch to another more responsible, competent provider. If you're thinking of going with Voya, my advice is...don't. In fact, run as far and as fast as you can in the opposite direction. We've currently opened a BBB complaint (yes, I know the BBB is awful) and are looking at filing a complaint with regulators. read more

Hands down the worst customer service. Took over a month to gain access to our account. Total run around and 1990 process's that make it almost impossible to gain access to YOUR money. Ridiculous. read more

If I could give this company -5, I would. Just what everyone here is complaining about. Terrible web interface, impossible to access funds, crazy high fees. I got an employer 401K dumped here, obviously offers cheap fees to employers, and they don't really care about anything but that. Hours on the phone, completely ineffective support, despite my best efforts still have a couple of hundred $$ with them, can't seem to get it out. I wonder how people who work there feel, knowing that they are taking advantage of everyone that is a client of theirs? Oh, wait, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt... they don't care. read more

I contacted the company more than twice to update my address. NEVER updated. Then I decided to close my account. Got the breakdown of the withholding and the payout. Which was completely wrong. Just a lot of uncalled for mistakes. read more

I had problems registering and since then, it has been hellish. It has been about 14 months and I still cannot talk to a live person or even get a response to an email because I couldn't register an email. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. They have thousands of my dollars and it is a black box. read more
