The worship is amazing. The praise is amazing. I think the music should be more diverse though, include some gospel/choir music. Spanish and African American Christian songs should be sung. The music by bethel ministry is Trump supporters and Vox sings their music regularly. Even the music by Kari Jobe is Trump supporters. There is nothing wrong with being a Republican but Trump is far-right and politics and Christian music shouldn't be mixed. It says something about the church and its leadership.
I love the new music though that Vox has created themselves. It would be cool for a corporate bible study.
Also, it's sad I had to stop attending because I identify as LGBTQ. I'm trans and wanted to be a part of the welcoming community and wanted to be a mentor to new school students. I am born and raised in new haven. I was not trying to push my agenda on the church, nor was I trying to disrespect. But Christ welcomed and healed all people. I just want to serve my church and community that believes in the 3 in 1 trinity. I came from a Baptist church and experienced denominations, and Vox isn't different.
How is it ok for me to tithe and sow, and preached to about serving to want to serve and being told I need to speak with Elders because of my orientation. It's not my orientation that's concerning it's my soul.
I felt safe at Vox and I couldn't even access Pastor Justin, and now I feel like the unclean in the bible and being prevented from being a part of the church.
I understand that the church is biblical and is not accepting, but if you can take my money, then I should be able to serve the church.
I started attending Pastor Joel Osteen Church: Lakewood and Pastor Steven Furtick's Church: Elevation online and tithing there because the bible is preached with conviction and accuracy and I was still offered to be a part of bible study and serve the online community. It's a shame that a growing church like Vox won't allow it.
I miss attending services and being in the presence of God corporately. I miss hearing Pastor Justin. But like the Sadducees and Pharisees in the bible, because I'm a certain way I am judged and made to stay away. That's not what Jesus did nor would he accept. read more
